    That had to be the best video yet, no extra comments or over explanations, just log splitting. Perfect 🤙

    Dan, I am going to experiment with the WR bagger with a false bottom and using the netting from Quadel as a possible packing solution. I already have a bunch of the correct size wood pieces and will keep you posted.

    Definitely the way to do it. Tons work make that small wood. I been thinking doing smoker chunks. Japa did that splitting chamber right centers every log that’s stoped in it. Nice video hope you had a good weekend

    Them little fire pits are cute. The more people that have them the more demand there be for small firewood like that which will be a premium price. Stay safe my friend

    It sure pays to have the right tools for the job. Nice work Dan, now use the Wolfe Ridge bagging station to bag 1 cu. Ft. & find your price point for the roadside stand. Could that size also double as smoking chips?

    Nice. I made a bunch of bags of Mini Firewood, even advertised on FB marketplace. And I think I have maybe sold 4 of them this summer, but I think people thought it was kindling. Not too many people with mini fire pits up here in northern Wisconsin. Thought about producing a video on my process.

    This would be a wast of my processor time and my time to do this I don't see the point but your equipment is on loan to you. If you had to maintain that stuff for the next 15 years you would see the problem. Belts and chains bearings hydraulic lines. My processor is now 12 years old and to keep it running cost about 1500 bucks a year for parts its old now. I like your channel but if you was buying this equipment you would see this makes no sense. You do not do the volume of wood I do I have moved over 420 tons of wood this year so far cut split and delivered been doing it for 20 years now. I do under stand you are making videos for youtube. I think your videos on baged wood is on point I made good money on baged wood this past summer thanks to your video. Please dont be mad at me looking forward to metting you someday

      I'm surrounded by Amish here who sell wood cheap. I'm close to buying splits from them and just reselling campfire wood. Also a bunch of farmers have fence lines and wet holes to clean out so they buy a processor and sell to pay for fuel. Lots of gravel pits so trees need removed for them too. We also have a few really big sawmills and firewood processor guys here who sell volume. I like to cut wood and I like toys so I'll keep doing it. Only use my Wallenstein processor for 4 or 5 days per year. Once the ash is junk I'll likely sell it and just use my big splitter. It will always be a part time hobby/ exercise for me.

    • @Back40Firewood
      @Back40Firewood  Před 11 měsíci +2

      Yeah I'm not into actual firewood production, I do this more for making videos. However with that being said...if I could run the machine and make 4 bags of this small fire pit size wood and sell those 4 bags for more than I would get for a face cord, or 1/3 of a cord, wouldn't it make more sense to run a machine when you get a higher ROI? Making more money with less wood and in less run time. To me that would make more sense than running for a longer time, making more wood, and getting less money for it. For example around me the average cost of 1/3 cord is $75. If I can sell a 1 cubic foot bag of that small wood for $20 I only need 4 bags of it and I have more $$ than running a full 1/3 cord. If I were to manually make the small fire pit wood by using a chainsaw and then splitter or axe to make the small splits I would have so much more time into it compared to the few minutes it took to do with the Japa.

    • @DaleFarrish
      @DaleFarrish Před 11 měsíci

      @@Back40Firewood I agree Dan. I just bought 2500 firewood bags and also made a shrink wrap bundler that works really good. I can't compete with bulk wood guys so I'm going to do smaller amounts. I also have access to tons of framing lumber cutoffs like 2x10x 14" so I'm splitting that into kindling and putting into bags to sell. I figure that stuff would be good for the Solo pits as well. Quick clean fires with no smoke. We have long spells of fire bans here that kills campfire wood sales.

    • @mrscuba1693
      @mrscuba1693 Před 11 měsíci

      I did make more on the baged wood I can turn a face cord into over 2 hundred buck versus 60 bucks a face cord and I do thank you for opening up my eyes to the baged wood. I am in pennsylvania surrounded by 500.000 thousand acres of the Allegheny national forest I cant command higher prices like many of you CZcamsrs can get because people are allowed to cut firewood on the national forest so I have keep my price at a point they dont want to do for them self keep the videos coming they are good videos stay safe in your wood yard
