A traitor Imperial Cult is hunted by a band of Raven Guard in this 2000 point game of Horus Heresy. - Hry
Those raptors annihilating the leman russes filled me with glee
Really happy that all of Matts cultists got sweeping advanced to death by that marine, as it's physically impossible for the planetary overlords squad to have piled into combat after the marines butchered them given that they're standing on 25mm bases and weren't packed B2B.
If I were to get art of any MWG moment, that would be it.
The Dreadnought would've had a 3+ cover against the rapiers due to the ogryns being in the way.
I came to say this! Shrouded is +2 to cover saves not just a 5+ cover save
Dude props to the ravenguard here. He dealt with ALOT in this game
As an dedicated Warp Cult player I have to say... disappointed that there are not minimal 150 models...
Being fair to Matt, that would basically make filming the battle take all day.
Marco Grunwald I didn't even know warp cult was a thing?
stephen19590 Me neither.
Oh wait, didnt someone bring them and daemons against Steves Iron Warriors? The one where the Daemon-player also had über-hell-turkey.
probably referring to mitch and he always brings tons of cultists
Do you always make them rending?
I wish all opponents were like this raven guard dude...just havin' fun
Marco Ferraris Yeah the really competitive games with a lot of saltiness aren't fun to watch
That marine deserves the Crux Terminatus for that feat xD
That Dark Fury deserves a promotion! He ought to be a company commander by the next game.
Levies and Militia Infantry do have both Auxilia Rifle and Close Combat Weapon listed as their standard equipment. So if you swap out the Auxilia Rifle for a pistol you would be able to gain +1A in assault.
the front assault marine squad shouldn't have ran, he put mental fortitude on them
At 48:10, the Raven Guard player did morale checks for both his jump squads. Wasn't one of them fearless because of Mental Fortitude?
Yeah, it was the one that wound up running off the board, too.
FYI, Atomantic Shielding on the Contemptor would add +1" to the explosion radius.
well this went from 6 to quirk real quick
25:00 shouldnt the dreadnought get 3+ cover because of shrouded + the ogrens being in the way?
31:00 mutant spawn have hammer of wrath
Levy squads have auxilia rifles not auxilia lasrifles
I may be wrong but i am almost certain the purpose of that drop pod is that to dread can sit inside it for the turn so cannot be targeted. so you can blow up the dpod, but the contemptor would just disembark like anything else would from a blown up vehichle
The rules in the new red book is so confusing we may all be playing it wrong... I quit using my dreadpod when those rules came out because i couldn't figure out how it works.
Exciting game with plenty of turn around moments! Although it ended with a big score disparity, the game felt pretty balanced. Props to Matt for not being a power hungry WAAC player and actually putting together a fun, interesting list.
Hay Matt , loved this video man! Question , in what book can I find the rules you where using because they sound lie fun to try out. Thanks for loading up more 30K videos! Also what is your Age of Sigmar Army?
this is why we get the zealot :D
So as far as I've seen Issac's Ravenguard have steamrolled MWG each time, jeez. Then again that doesn't seem to be the hardest of feats
Stephen Lyon lol yeah. I haven't played 40k in so long but some of the moves Quirk makes are so bad lol. I think Matt and Dave are solid players though.
Matt, a ten minute intro of your army? Holy Crap
Isaac the guy that fought kimbo slice and plays warhammer. renaissance man.
let this guy play 40k please! i would really love to see raven guard on 40k!
You should atleast use Enforcers, the morale is the biggest problem with Cult armies
25:20 rapier laser destroyers are ap 2, normal lascannons except for 36" range, so no explosion
47:30 still ap 2
1:13:40 i think that a wreck flyer must do crash and burn (scatter large blast and damage unit under)
it was nice seeing raven guard and cult, thank you!
Philip Zen, Rapier Destroyers are ap1 and have Ordnance.
it's a common error, rapier have the laser destroyer array, not the laser detroyer. this are the 2 profiles (link to picture)
imgur.com/a/1NPIx
Philip Zen, the flyer was immobilised when it dropped into hover mode, in hover mode it's treated as a fast skimmer and skimmers don't crash and burn when wrecked
Philip Zen, The most recent Crusade Army list book doesn't have a separate profile for the Laser Destroyer Array, it only lists the Laser Destroyer profile.
This has been a constant area of confusion as different books list different profiles or don't list a profile for the Laser Destroyer Array.
An email was sent to Forge World and the reply was.
"Thank you for your email. I went to the Forge world studio and spoke directly to Alan Bligh about the whole Laser Destroyer / Laser Destroyer array issue and it looks like the initial information I had and provided to you was incorrect. Please accept my apologies for this. What Alan told me was that the Laser Destroyer and the Laser Destroyer Array are the same weapon and use the Laser Destroyer Profile in the Age of Darkness Army list. The Vindicator Laser Destroyer has additional rules as per its entry due to its enhanced Capacitors.
So, what this means is that the Solar Auxilia Rapier with the Laser Destroyer should now use the stats in the Age of Darkness Army list book."
That means all Laser Destroyer Arrays use the standard Laser Destroyer profile and are ap1.
Of course if your group doesn't accept a Forge World email by all means use the different profiles until the next FAQ but as this information came directly from Alan Bligh it's solid enough for me
Not a big deal, but you mentioned Fear tests on the Furies in the first round, but didn't they pass their Mental Fortitude power?
Grinning Buck yep
And the assault squad that failed it's morale check on turn 2 passed as well.
the contemptor should have had a 3+ cover
shooting through ogryns+shrouded
I don´t think you can buy Auxilia Lasrifles to Levy Squads, unless they have done a Faq or errata that is a illegal weapons loadout.
The names are pretty confusing. They can take lascarbines, which have the same stats as a 40k lasgun.
True, now it´s 2 days since I watched the battle report so I dont remeber if they just called them Auxilia Lasrifles but used them as Lascarbines or not.
The only real difference between them is that the rifles have 6 inch range more range so it might not have mattered that much in the end.
The RG libby didn't have force (not that it mattered), as force is granted from force weapons (which he traded out for ravens talons).
Shouldn't the dreadnought in the drop pod have had a 3+ cover instead of a 5+? 25% cover from the ogryns for a 5+, followed by shrouded for a 3+?
31:36 - RYGW? math you got wrong? - it actually may make a difference on who rolls what number for attacks since all most all of the spawn are close enough to be casualties - say the numbers rolled were 6,6,6,6,5,4,3,2,1 - if he killed 3 spawn, and all spawn were valid models to assign wounds to you could allocate to the spawn that had rolled 1,2,3 for their number of attacks giving you much more attacks than if you had just rolled 6 dice after and gotten a spread of 1,2,3,4,5,6 (IE you could kill off the weakest spawn and let the more vigorous ones attack)
That dice hiding under the table edge at 30:09
Kay Cordewener and its a 1 lol
WHen are you gonna get the Leman Russ model? Also any news on doing games with 40k Gulliman?
Pasan Probably not before anyone start a new traitor (FUKING FURRIES (Spank Dawgs (Space Wolves) ) ) army.
@44:10 all the Ravenguard Assault Marines wounded by the Leman Russ should have had a 4+ cover save as 1 Leman Russ was shooting through Ruins and a squadron of tanks is treated as a unit.
Doesnt the Contemptor Dread have an invun save of 5+ against ranged attacks?
It should.
FarseerKoss the cover should of been better but it wouldn't of mattered
I love the raven guard librarian what was used to make it? Also great game!
Alex Wilson it looked to me like a sevrin loth (fw red scorpions librarian) body, blood angels chaplain's jump pack and cataphractii lightning claws
Horus Heresy!!!
They forgot to include hammer of wrath attacks for the jump pack infantry
Which codex/supplement has the information for the Cult? Or is this WH 30K?
It is 30k. The list is in www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/The-Horus-Heresy-Crusade-Imperialis-Army-Lists
Inducted Levy squads do have CCweapon in base, getting pistol would get them +1 attack
Nice contemptor.
Arvus, really? Never thought I'd see someone using that box.
L3610N 115 METAL BAWKSES!
I dont even play warhammer and i love these videos ha
at 25:30, the contemptor should have had a 3+ cover save... intervening model plus shrouded.
Didn't the dreadnought have a 3+ cover save? 5+ for shooting through your own and +2 for Shrouded?
this raven guard guy is the best, allways win
Do spawn not get mutated beyond reason in 30k?
Shouldnt you have rolled a dice when the flyer got immobilized if it crashes and burns on a 1 or 2?
Joey Joe Joe, no as it became immobilised when it dropped to hover. A flyer in hover mode becomes a fast skimmer
Also the Cicarian had extra armor right? why is he snap firing ever? he ignores shaken and stunned results
Great game!
26:31 has atomantic shielding. so +1 to explosion radius
Can someone help me I'm just starting this idk what to choose or what to start with
Start here: czcams.com/video/QQjJhsa8sxU/video.html
They forgot the extra armour upgrades
47:59 - didn't that squad have mental fortitude that made them fearless?
I just checked again, and yes, they were, at 37:15. That would have made a pretty gigantic difference, hope they catch it.
Well, after finishing the video, maybe it wouldn't have made a big difference after all.
1:12:27 - didn't those tanks have extra armor, that turns stunned into shaken?
Didn't the spawn run and charge on turn 1?
SteveVDuelist - they did not run, and there's no rule saying they can't charge on turn 1
This battle report highlights exactly why I hate sweeping advance and I am glad that it is being removed in 8th edition. It is so heavily penalized against hordes and elite armies can get mauled and lose high points costed troops and sweeping advance squads full of infantry with one guy left... *smh*
Where are the rules found, those providence of war things etc?
It's a 30k list in www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/The-Horus-Heresy-Crusade-Imperialis-Army-Lists
Thanks.
52:45 daemons ot tzeentch reroll ones for saves
Marines don't have ATSKNF in 30k?
No, they only have Legion Astartes rules, which let them regroup at their full Leadership even if they are at less than 25% strength.
Alright! I googled it myself and it seems 30k is more geared towards marines getting murdered a lot. Makes sense :D
Thanks for the response.
I couldn't help myself I laughed and laughed when Matt's guys all ran off the table. He always does that to other people good he gets some too. I dislike the run off the table and die rule.
Hamilton in Scotland??
I wish to see more Custodian guard on your boards. Play them like fluff power houses. Thats alot of 2 3 5 5 2 2 6 9 I think. ws,bs,s,t,w,a,i,ld
We Want more bugs!
Why are Matts Lascannon heavy weapon teams toughness 4?
Explained when Matt went over the army.
is it me or does these MWG dice roll ones way too much :P
Space Marine deathstar spamming Invisibility. *retching sounds intensify*
At our local store we adhere to the Council of Nikea, no psychic powers may be used in 30K games unless it's for a narrative campaign or both players agree. In as such, Invisibility and Endurance are banned powers not allowed. In addition no player may take either formations (40K) or Rites of War(30K) unless their opponent also takes them. These "house rules" make a lot of our games so much better and friendly.
Curtis Warren it must really suck for the Thousand Sons players, then.
Curtis Warren that just sounds like an incredible amount of bullshit then, It sounds like your games aren't that fun
Not to shit on Curtis's local shop and it's rules (or Curtis, for that matter), but I was kind of thinking the same thing. I mean, I can understand if a selection of powers is so busted that it makes games unplayable. But, removing psychic powers altogether just sounds like it would completely neuter some factions/armies entirely.
And removing Formations/Rites of War, while leveling the playing field considerably in the relatively sterile 30k environment, only serves to white-wash the Astartes Legions, forcing them to rely more on the Legiones Astartes rules differences and unique units to instill character into an army list and develop battle strategy. It almost feels like it otherwise kills the character of the Legions.
Obviously it's up to your group what restrictions you want to use. But if you follow the storyline:
* Word Bearers ignore the Edict because they're already traitors and dabbling in warp ritual.
* Thousand Sons ignore the Edict because they just can't stop.
* Space Wolves cheat by saying their Rune Priests aren't Librarians.
* White Scars, Dark Angels and Ultramarines adhere to the Edict to start with, but independently reinstate their Librarius once it becomes clear that they need it to fight Daemons.
xD
I'm gonna stop watching Matt's batreps if he keeps making mistakes like this. At 25 minutes I could stomach no more.
Dreadnought had extra armor? ..and 3++? did Not bother watching anymore. quit my abo as well, does not seem that mwg staff even tries to bother preparing for the game. Instead covering every stupid game there is from Startrek to warmachine and what Not.
