Nice haul! I do container gardening in NC. Every year I add a large container like a 50 or 100 gal to my "garden". and I have to sit like you sometimes, but I keep planting. It is so rewarding after the effort you put it to grow and eat your own food! Im subscribing!

I donât have a great garden but I have a few plants here and there but whenever I get anything from my plants weather itâs a pepper or a few leaf of kale or lettuce it makes me feel very happy. I don't want to appear to be the spelling police, but in this case I couldn't resist. Potato is not spelled with an e on the end. It reminded me of Walter Mondale in a classroom spelling bee. If you are talking plural, or 2 or more potatoes, you add an es to the end. Same rule for tomato.
I was curious about your potatoes!! Nice haul! I love those purple ones đ I have some Adirondacks about to be ready, canât wait! I harvested some red norlands last week. We just had them as mashed potatoes with a pot roast for Motherâs Day, and they were creamy delicious skins & all!
Not too bad at all! I know some people like those cloth bags, but I use cat litter buckets, (cost me NOTHING!), and with the smooth, angled sides, they dump out much easier.

I love your channel, Mrs Ursula! Iâm in zone 8a in northeast tx and My potato plants were looking so good until we had that late frost and only one stem grew back. Itâs not blooming and hasnât showed any signs of dying back so Iâm just patiently waiting. Youâve got some good ones there!
Hey Laura, thanks. Don'tgive up, if you still have a stem growing there is a good chance for a great harvest. The cold may have damaged the stems above ground but the ones still growing beneath should be ok. đ

I don't think I've heard of smothered potatoes before. Smashed I've heard of but not smothered. I will have to Google that and see what that is. What you're describing sounds right up my alley. I love shrimp and sausage (can't eat pork sausage since I don't digest pork well, but I could always do beef, turkey or chicken sausage) and I love potatoes!

It is ok to let the container dry a bit before harvest. It allows the potatoes to store better. Nice harvest!

My wife would make a white gravy and put all those tiny potatoes in it to cook. She calls them "new potatoes" and it's a good side dish.
