My husband is a quadriplegic. His dad drove him to Atlantic city from Tennessee in 1980, hoping some "faith healer" would help him. When they got there, the venue was not wheelchair accessible. My husband comforted his dad because it was his last hope, my husband had come to terms with it. It took 40yrs to get my husband in a church after that

I've tried the same with my handicap brother and Justin helped me understand that his ability to suffer through his condition with a good attitude glorifies God more than a healing would. It set me free from a bondage I had NO CLUE I was being held by. My brother has a great attitude anyway, the whole mess I made over it just confused him. God bless this ministry

This has triggered a very sad memory. A friend of mines in Houston TX, her mother a devoted Christian to her local church, was diagnosed with Cancer in 1998. The cancer got worse because she refused the treatment because she was saving her money to travel to see Benny Hinn to get healed. I begged her not to do it, like so many others. We prayed for her healing and somehow to prevent her from traveling to see Hinn. Sadly, our best efforts did not work. She traveled to see him and returned and said that she was healed. The cancer was the cause of her death 4 months later.
My wife begged me to attend Joel Osteen's night of hope in 2012, here in DC. I was not pleased and pointed out several inconsistence statements about the Word. My wife and I studied the Word together me leading her through the Word. That helped but she did not truly reject his preaching, sadly my wife passed away in 2013.
My aunt who studied the Word daily, we had numerous discussion on scriptures, but she could not stop watching Kenneth Copeland she supported his ministry and got upset with me because I would calling him a true Anti-Christ. She reached out to his ministry to send me items after my wife died and the information was horrible. Even after that she continued to support his ministry up until she died in 2016.
I will end on a better note. I have a friend that used to attend Creflo Dollar's church there in Atlanta. She was a dedicated follower. I asked her to accompany me to the First Baptist Church of Atlanta (Charles Stanley - Pastor). She truly enjoyed attending and each time I visited Atlanta, she would attend with me. 3 years later in 1999, we started a telephone bible study and she began learning the Word for herself, she asked a lot of questions and with some encouragement I suggest some local churches (not Mega size) for her to attend. She began only attending their bible study, months later began attending their Sunday service and within a year left Creflo Dollar's church because she knew the truth for herself and began leading others away.

I have to tell you that I am still haunted by a preacher on Television, a very well known preacher by the name of John Hagee. It was a while ago when the Trinity Broadcast with the Crouch family held their money pitches via a telethon type reach. Hagee came on to the platform to state (paraphrasing) "if you don't contribute to this ministry and you listen to our sermons, it is like stealing when you do not give your money to the network. " This really struck me hard and in my early years of just coming into the fold of believers, I had to process that and I just had to stop listening to the Network because that is how impacting that statement hit me. I didn't realize that this Network really felt they had a monopoly on God's Kingdom preaching. How does one process that pitch?

I'm a Finnish pentecostal missionary and pastor. I have an autistic son, never healed and that's ok if God's will. A few years ago an American minister visited Finland. And he told the audience that we would be guilty of getting people going to hell if we don't give money to his ministry. And he got a great offering of that "crusade" in Finland. I didn't give a penny. It's a pity that this kind of "crusades" are arranged every now and then. Well, the minister I told about was not a big prosperity teacher but maybe a smaller one. If American ministers were really humble without preaching about money and miracles (that don't happen), even I could welcome them. Why do you like to be stars but not servants? An apology isn’t repentant at all unless you see a change afterward. They can be very disingenuous when they’re alone with nothing else to follow it. Turning away from sin and heading in God’s direction that He has for us is repentance. Repentance is remorseful, it asks for forgiveness, it tries to make the wrongs right. We see a broken, repentant person change. None of this was evident here. It was all an act probably to get sales for his new and improved versions of his material sold.

My heart is just broken, over & over again, for all those people who believe in these false prophets & teachers. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like for you & those poor unfortunate souls hearing this....so many to lose their faith when they aren't healed. One of the best gifts Jesus ever gave me was to bring me out from under those charlatans & brought me to true faith in a fundamentalist Baptist church. God bless you & all that you do.

I don't feel sorry for any of them. I was a KID, growing up in the hood, in the '80s, and would hear preachers like, Creflo Dollar, Jimmy swaggart, Oral Roberts, the Bakers, and Reverend Ike, and I knew they were all a bunch of phonies who were simply after people's money, and I couldn't understand how people we're falling for any of it.

As long as they teach repentance and not repeat these words after me and you will be saved. I have always gone to Baptist churches. But have realized some preachers do that and then tell you you are saved. That is something only God can know. You will know them by their fruits. So many hang on to that time they saud that prayer as proof they are saved but then go out drinking and committing adultery and live wallowing in sin still claiming they are saved. I know now repentance is needed. Im thankful you are not following these heretics. I almost got into them but God got my attention by reading straight through the new testament ( I skipped 3 gospels) without skipping around taking verses out of context. Once I got the word in me I saw right through all of their baloney. But I didn't truly believe them to start with. Im thankful for discernment from the Lord.

My mom, who was a born-again believer had ALS which she finally succumbed to in November 1982, at the age of 53 after almost 3.5 yrs. of suffering with that hellish disease! I was almost 22 yrs. old when she died. We were, at the time, attending a Charismatic church & a friend of ours wanted to take my mom to see Ernest Angley. I wasn't thrilled at the idea of going because i believed him to be a charlatan, but foolishly, out of respect for our mutual friend, we went to see him. My mom, at that time, was wheelchair bound. I kid you not - he spent almost an hour on promoting some trinket you could get from his 'ministry' for a donation of whatever amount it was (can't remember) All the while, my mom was getting more uncomfortable sitting in the chair as he rambled on and on about $$$ (a charlatan's REAL god!!!) Finally, after a empty 'sermon' (probably again on health, wealth & prosperity), he went around the room just laying hands on people like he was on fire. Not once did he stop to pray for obviously sick people (like my mom & others) who were there to not only be prayed for but healed of their infirmities! He just quickly laid a hand on my mom's head as he rushed around doing the same thing to others. What a waste of 3 - 4 hours! I'm glad i'm out of the antichrist, man centred Charis-maniac movement & have learned to test all things, to hold on to that which is truly of God & discard the rest. I treat every person i hear preach as a heretic until they prove, by Scripture, that they are geniune. That may seem harsh but it's better than being "swayed by every wind of doctrine" -
    That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

@websurferdude, so sorry that you, your mom, and countless others have experienced this. As I’ve said before, many claiming to be believers have caused so much needless pain, and only add to the pain of those suffering. I heard a well known teacher say he’d rather be thrown in a lion’s den than in a room with a bunch of believers. Sad but true, not many genuine believers.

Agreed. But the God warned us: "cursed is the man that trusts in man...". I went to one years ago and noticed the "sick" were preselected. Sure enough, they were the ones called up to be healed. That was the last time I went to a healing meeting.

I’m sorry about the loss of your Mom. My Dad died just over 3 years ago, he lead me to the Lord when I was 8 years old after I was convicted during family devotions. The year he died, it had been 50 years since he lead me to Christ & on my birthday, we have a wonderful conversation & recalled all of it, sadly it was the last lucid conversation I had with him. My father taught me discernment is what’s most important in our walk with Christ because the enemy is seeking whom he can devour.. False teachers will be judged more harshly for leading people astray. I hope & pray you’ve found a good Bible preaching church which helps your walk.

This is the kind of story that VEXES ME. But the truth is God allows us to be deceived by what we put our trust in that we may fully come to put our hopes in HIM ALONE.

One of my friends was in choir and always volunteering at church and kept giving the church money and she was a single mother working a minimum wage job and she lost her job and went to the church office to ask the church secretary who led our small group and was in choir with us for the church to help her with groceries and she told her the church gives to the homeless shelter and food pantry. At the same time, I was volunteering at a church event handing out free groceries and praying for people with inflatables and free hotdogs and free dentist and stuff in a large park.

i left Word of Faith 15 months ago. the church i attended took in over 1 million dollars/year.
their benevolence spending (for groceries in situations such as yours) averaged 1% - $10k.
the entire christian community in our town regularly remarked how selfish they were.

Hello, wonderful video, thank you for sharing I always believed in my heart exactly what you spoke, God gave us all the knowledge we need, if we know the word and follow our intuition that God has given us, we will know what we need to do

    • @RandomBeagle

Not our intuition, we need to read the Bible, ask G'd to open our eyes and heart an rely on Him. Please not your intuition
