    I came here from Linus' video and the comment you left there. I have one of these controllers on order and should get it in a couple days. Thanks for the ASMR Gulikit service video, I may be doing this to mine just for preventive maintenance. Although, just a tip, don't use petroleum products on plastic. The plastic may soften too much. Instead, use silicon or lithium grease.

      Update: I got my new Gulikit controller and just like a lot of people, my buttons started sticking on the first day. I used what I learned from this video and took matters into my own hands. I used organic beeswax (lip balm) since that's all I had in the house that I felt would be safe to use on plastic. It works GREAT!! I just wanted to give this update as a big thank you to yongor for making this video, so I didn't have to send my controller back to Amazon.

    Thanks tons for this video, it was nice not being yelled at with EDM being thrust down my ear canals and gigantic bell icons chasing me in my nightmares. I get really stressy doing this kind of stuff cuz over time I've developed a knack for conjuring ways to screw these things up so having a straight up video to come to is really nice. I was in the middle of goofing around in ToTK when somehow I couldn't jump anymore which sucks when you've got a sword approaching your prefrontal cortex at mach 6. Kicked this on, took it apart, and lo and behold our good friend dust. Cleaned it out, put it back together and it's all good to go.
    PS for anyone else; the bumpers may get stuck behind the triggers if the case isn't on cuz there's little plastic lips in the backplate that help move them out of the way ever so slightly.

    Thanks for this vid op. The B button on my controller started to squeak aswell and it drives me crazy with the noise it makes.
    Did the lube by using the krytox grease as most here mentioned and so far cross fingers, no more squeaky noise. 🎉
    It's a bit of a shame that people had to do this mod because the controller is really nice. It feels a bit better than your regular xbox one controller.
    The disassembly btw is not too difficult, but for newbies it's understandable that it can get a little tricky once you have to gut the whole thing out. I recommend double or triple check the vid if you have any doubt.

    Thanks for this video, one of the face buttons on my controller was squeaky and this seems to have fix it, however during the process of reassembly, one of the shoulder buttons is now mushy instead of clicky, still functional tho. Not really sure what I did wrong, it seemed to vary depending on different screw pressure, screwing everything tight did not make it any better, loosing some a bit helped with one of the shoulder buttons but not the other, not a robust design on those at all.

    • @yonggor
      @yonggor  Před rokem +1

      Hi, please refer to 20:30. Make sure the shoulder buttons and the 2nd PCB are put back properly before proceeding to next step. Verify that shoulder buttons are clicky, and the power buttons have a tactile feel before screwing back the PCB. I had done this as well which was easily fixed by doing the whole process again.

    • @AngryShooter
      @AngryShooter Před rokem

      @@yonggor I did that like 3 or 4 times, everything seemed clicky and tactile until I started to screw the triggers and the second board, a certain amount of pressure would make the left shoulder button stop being clicky, every other button seems fine, I was losing my mind repeating that process back and forth for well over an hour and eventually gave up. It's still functional, and I kind of don't mind the mushiness of the shoulder button, I might even prefer it that way, as long as it works and is not damaging the controller. However if this is bad for the controller's health then I'll try again. And thanks again for the help, I appreciate it.

      @@crankiermusic7436 @AngryShooter Yeah, it is really weird, bumper has a tiny silicone damper that presses the clicky switch (and that is all the damping lol), I had to adjust its tip a bit to make it press the switch centered, cos it was slightly misaligned. Maybe check out if that silicone cone hits the switch in the centre or not! When placing the PCB, the switch located on the PCB might press into the soft silicone cones side or something instead of centre, and stay there it being a grippy material. Do you mean the silicone rubber pad? L & R are clicky tactile switches, while ZL & ZR are hall sensors. It's likely cheaper to have tactile switches, but both silicone pad and tactile switches have their own advantages. I like the quick response of the tactile switch, where I can tap super fast for defense in Sekiro. But I also like how the silicone pad springs back when released, the "pop" feel is much more responsive than tactile switch's "click".
