Shout out to my Takoradi gal. From the same city & incidentally live in Texas. Keep up the good job & use the opportunity to study and acquire a profession. My nephew joined the US Army and has benefited as a veteran.
From a Don Telo (sp). Lived in Yankee for more than fifty years. Enjoying life as a retiree & Papa Samo at the same time 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🤣🤣🤣

When I arrived in the 80s, the cold war was still strong and joining did not come to mind although I had mingled with the GIs when I lived in Germany. I even run into just one Ghanaian US Army man based in Germany in the 70s on deployment from the US.

@@popebenson5921I have a question according to the US Army: I'm a 20 years old German-Ghanaian. At the moment I'm doing my vocational baccalaureate at a vocational school there. After I finish my vocational baccalaureate, I want to emigrate to the US or to Canada. And my question is: Can I join the US Army although I'm German since my birth? BTW in which department are you?

DJ Nyame , God bless you for great job.
I'm interested in the part that she was able to say the truth that there were beggers, unemployed, etc. and more importantly if you have a paid working job, don't worry yourself to get ordinary visa to travel abroad.
We can't compare Ghana to the United States but it isn't all that easy as being portrayed to the Ghanaians.

Thank you DJ Nyaami for the interview. The lady said that she studied French, Spanish, and Psychology at Legon because she wanted to be a bilingual secretary. Bilingual Secretaryship is more professional than academic. Does Legon now offer programs of studies in Bilingual Secretaryship? For all what I knew, the then Accra Polytechnic had a full Department of Bilingual Secretaryship and Management Studies! Why didn’t she go to the then Accra Polytechnic for her Bilingual Secretaryship program? Why has she had to abandon both French and Spanish classes in favor of the US Army? If still in Ghana, this lady would have gotten a bilingual job but would not have been qualified and able to perform her job as a professional bilingual secretary. She should have rather been a political bilingual secretary. DJ Nyaami, the lady is just an opportunist, who wants to take all opportunities placed at her disposal. In fact, some of us are smart er into analysis than the people you interview and think they are.

Takoradi Fante is the language widely spoken in Takoradi and it's neighboring towns and cities although originally, Takoradi is an Ahanta land, as such it was supposed to be spoken there.
