I think this cover showcases the sheer vocal magic that Home Free produces better than any other song they do. No vocal percussion (yes, Adam Rupp has a beautiful tenor voice), just pure harmonic brilliance. These guys are simply extraordinary. So glad you are reacting to them.
I am so glad you noticed that held note! Not many reactors notice it. There is a video of them singing this song live and off mic. You could have heard a pin drop in the audience. It is very clear that Tim is holding the note in that video and that's when people normally notice it. Considering he takes a breath at the beginning of the phrase and then goes on to hold that note...pure ear candy and great breath control.
You would enjoy Home Free's cover of Brothers in Arms.
YES!
Masters of harmonies!! Tim, Austin, Chance, Rob and Adam!
They are the hardest working people in the biz! Tim, Austin, and Chance do solo projects Rob has a podcast Tim & Austin have a side band called Sweet & Low they're always on tour and they're constantly putting out videos. We love these great guys ❤ thanks for the reaction ❤ practice the "no-monica" we'll tell what we think 😅❤
Minney, you have got to be their biggest fan!! 🌹
Man, you gotta see them live. Tim hits some of those notes, and your seat vibrates.
Row Row Row your boat is called a round. Even though he's a PHENOMENAL beatboxer I love when Adam gets to sing and wish they could talk him into taking the lead on a song where he doesn't have to beatbox because he has a beautiful voice.
I'm praying 🙏 for that day! 😁
DITTO!
Vocal assassins, pure and simple!
I grew up listening to Crosby, Stills & Nash & had their album with this song Helplessly Hoping. Absolutely loved them & their harmonies. This song is full of alliterations. Home Free more than does justice to all the songs they cover. And this song is perfection to me with the 5 part harmonies. A true masterpiece! I can't say enough about how great these guys are & humble while still staying respectful to the original song.
An exquisite 5-part harmony masterpiece!!!
Besides the unbelievable harmonies, getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is such a great treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
🎼🔥⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥🎼 .. way to go Anthony .. I was hoping you would get to this joint. World class harmonies .. amazing !! Very happy to see you giving HomeFree some space. Nice .. 🔥 ... Nice 🔥
Welcome to all the #homefries! Thanks for the reaction!!!
Not only top notch harmony but the really clean starts and stops of each phrase by each member that had to be perfectly lined up or it would not sound right.
Misty Mountain with Tim Foust and Peter is a must.
It’s obvious that you know music and I really enjoy your reactions. Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece
This is so glorious. No vocal percussion this time. Just perfect 5-part harmony.
A master class in pure acapella and pure harmony. Chance directed this video and did a masterful job of it - the black & white really accentuates the mood of the video. If you get time, watch their videos of "When A Man Loves A Woman" and Tim Foust's original "Remember This" - they're both so good! Thanks for playing this & your comments. By the way, you're really good at beatboxing yourself!
By the way, Canada is bilingual so even most of us not in Quebec understand enough French to follow what you said. Tres bien!
Found you because of Home Free! One of their BEST...pure talent! But, dude, your voice, as well! I'm watching you...❤
❤🔥
Thanks so much for reacting to this song. The way they start with Chance and then Rob, it feels and sounds like one person. Then Austin adding to the song...so good. Bringing in Tim and Adam is amazing. Glad you noticed Tim and the long note. So many reactors miss hearing Tim doing that. Thanks again.
I love that you are listening to Home Free and listening to your reaction. Thanks and please keep going down their rabbit hole!!! Have listened to them for going on 10 years now and they never fail to impress me, make me cry, feel, dance, smile.... you name it!!!
This is one of my favorite Home Free covers. It is a master class in harmonies!
New 🇨🇦 sub, here for more Home Free!!
Another great reaction!
One of their best 5-part harmonies for sure. Since you loved this I Can’t Outrun You, also directed (as was this) by Adam Chance is another masterpiece and a MUST; the video is hauntingly sad and beautiful all at the same time. Home Free tells a story musically like few others.
Watching your wheels turning as you listen to these gems, is a great ride. And yes, skill born of hard work with talent that was not wasted.
Great reaction. I enjoyed your music too.
This is one of my favorites. Their harmonies are so good. Love your analysis. You have a very deep voice yourself. If you love bass, Brothers in Arms, I Can’t Outrun You, even the new one Delta Dawn has some good bass in it. This song was Chance’s baby (first singer). He was the bass in his first group (Street Corner Symphony I think it was called). He joined in 2016 and replaced Chris Rupp, baritone. Chance can’t go quite as low as Tim but is so good. He has a smooth smokey voice. He directed this one as well as I Can’t Outrun You. Good reaction Anthony! I subscribed!🥰
Great recommendations!
For some low bass singing you can check out their covers of Friends In Low Places, Down To The Honkytonk, or Everybody Walkin' This Land (there is a message at the end of this one).
This is by far the most insightful reaction to this video that I've seen. 👍🔥
This is so super sung with great harmonies from all five members. The black and white video really finishes it off. So short, but oh so powerful!
Awesome reaction ‼️ If you want some bass watch their cover of " Brothers in arms " dire Straits song. It's incredibly beautiful 😍
That last note always reminds me of a pipe organ! Great reaction!
One of my top covers and all Home Free releases. It’s gorgeously haunting. Those harmonies, the perfect unison between Chance and Rob at the very beginning and at the end right before they break off in harmonies for the last few notes is beautiful!
When you like this, you would also like How Great Thou Art. Please try it!
Love your reactions, I really like they way this was done so we can hear each voice even though they are all together, even Adam is audible.
Home fries 💗
thank you for the video 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey Anthony I have been a fan of Home Free since they started and the last years they almost can sing everything i have not heard one song I did not like, they have awesome voices and Adam beatboxing is amazing hugs from a Fries in Norway 🫂🫂💞💞
Their "Brother" is my favorite. So funny and beautiful music!
There are five parts on this one - since Adam Rupp (usually beatboxing) was singing another tenor line. One of my favorites - and a tremendous reaction.
This song is🔥🔥🔥!! Love your reactions to Home Free! Glad you are loving them as much as we are!!❤️❤️
You have confused a "round" (Like '"Row, row, row your boat..."), with stacking, or building, a chord, which is what Home Free does in this arrangement. These guys are amazing. Tim Foust, the bass, has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist, the fellow with the big beard, trained as an opera singer in his college days.
they are truly (at least to me) the best out there. Their harmonies can't be matched. That's just my opinion 😉👍👍
Great reaction. Like your dry humor. Tim's ability to hold a note is legendary. In Home Free's rendition of "Ring of Fire" that ability is truly on display at the end of the song. Tim's 5 Octave range is spectacular, from the highest tenor to the 'center of the earth' lowest. Home Free, for me, is the epitome of what harmony is all about. Thanks for reacting to Home Free once more.
Love Home Free ❤, And What I Did See of Your Video in Beginning Sounded Awesome.
The thing you referred to with Row, Row, Row Your Boat is called a Round. I just adore the reverb on this one. The last cord they do on this reminds me of their cover of Brother's In Arms. Please react to it if you haven't already. LOVED your reaction.
Yes, Home Fries know what you mean by "tingles my ear", Tim certainly does! Great reaction!
And, I'm not a fan of rap music. I subscribed to your channel because you understand music and what it takes to make good music. That being said, I like your new song. I heard it first on That Singer Reacts channel (he's one if my faves) and will listen to it again on yours❤
Its a beautiful cover. And when Tim joins its just on another level
Tim's low notes just seem to hit me in the heart and reverberate. Low bass is definitely the best singing tones. These guys are EPIC. And more so in real life. Please keep doing responses to their songs. Thank, and we appreciate your work.
I haven't searched for the arrangement to this song, but it's possible you were hearing two voices on the same bass line when you mentioned "oh, the bass". The beatboxer sings tenor, so for this song, there are at least 3 tenor voices, two bass voices, and at least two baritone available in various points in the song.
I love your reactions!
Fantastic. They have no boundaries.
I need to check out your video! Sounds great!! This is a masterful arrangement!! ♥️♥️
There is one major flaw to this song. It's way too short. Because I could listen to those harmonies all day long
The bass is sooooo clean. Baritone and bass are my thing too, but man, the tenor and alto..... all together is so pure and fascinating, can hear it all day.
This was a phenomenal arrangement. Love these guys. I agree with you about the way a good bass sound just hits different. Tingles and satisfies.
Those are called eargasms.
I was always intrigued by the original. This one put me over the top. Peace, Love!!
This so very awesome! These guys are so very good. So very talented. Love your reaction!
If you like low bass singing, you need to listen to their version of “Brothers in arms”.
Thier harmories are always amazing - but in the beginning singing the same notes and exact phrasing you lose that there are two voices. Note too their beat boxer is also singing - Brother in Arms is another five voice harmony song if you have time to listen to it.
So perfect and pleasing to the ear and soul. One of the true artists that I listen to on a daily basis. Great reaction
I love this! Never heard this CS&N cover! Wow! ✌🏻❤️from Texas
Thank you for finding Home Free. More reasons to listen to your reviews!
I want to applaud their sound engineer, as he is pure genius! His abilities shine through in this and every other song that Home Free has blessed us all with ❤
For the real bass/baritone experience,,,,,,, Brothers in arms 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great reaction, thank you!
I grew up loving Crosby Stills and Nash, later Crosby Stills Nash and Young. As much as I enjoyed this song originally, Home Free has elevated it to a masterpiece. Thanks for appreciating it so much.
Called a round darlin or at least when I was in school it was so🥹 love your content, just heard your music and I could listen! Much love from April in South Carolina✌️💚😁
Simply a MASTERPIECE!
I like seeing Adam sing which is rare.
I love that you like @That Singer Reacts. He's such a good guy. By the way, welcome to the HOME FRY ARMY. Just so you know, you have good timing as they are about to tour Europe starting in September. Maybe you can catch a show
Thank you for reacting to Home Free!
If you like the base you should check out "The Bass Gang", specifically "Emperor's New Clothes" it's also acapella 🥰
This is probably my favorite HF song...just pure harmony! ❤
Thanks!
Definitely not related to that crazy fella, hah! So excited to see you experience this one, they are such a talent! Thanks Anthony! ♥
In the first part with Chance and Rob, it's called "unison," and then when Austin comes in, it becomes a three part harmony, and so on. Great reaction, Anthony.
Masterful!
Their Harmonies are AMAZING ❤🎉
a couple of things you might want to check out
There is a clip of Austin (the high tenor) saying Tim's low bass makes his behind end vibrate. To check this out he goes over and sits on the bass speaker and Tim belts out his best ultra low note. Poor Austin howls and falls off the speaker while everyone else is checking to see if their ear drums are still there. It's all very funny. Somewhere on U tube.
This is so incredibly beautiful. These boys are so talented. CK out Give Me A Sign
This one makes me cry every time I hear it.
Only complaint ever on a HF song.
Too short ;-)
Fun reaction!
Tim Foust's vocals are the best. Five plus octaves to sing in is rare and incredible
The bass voice tingles me somewhere else.😉
Finally, someone caught that low long note. Thank you.
Yes!
I’m a high soprano when I sing, but my favorite part is usually the bass. It’s so foundational. I have a cough and cold right now, and am weirdly enjoying my newfound “low” range. Lol.
I believe both Tim and Chance hit us with the double bass twice, one time being the bagpipe drone sound near the end. I could be wrong, but this is what my ears are picking up.
Love that they left the breath sounds in. Nana Karen UK
HF is always wonderful, but this one and "Auld Lang Syne" are absolutely pure, flawless perfection.
Yes I understand what you mean about that tingle.
Ya, this requires a moment of silence when they finish. Good job.
I swear they give me eargasism. 😂😂😂❤
If you like the harmonies then it sounds like you might enjoy a Sea Shanty. Home Free do a Sea Shanty Medley I think you’d enjoy. I’m from little old Cornwall in the UK. We love a Sea Shanty, a pirate and a good pasty 😁🏴☠️
I know you've reacted to geoff Castellucci... Tim's great at the bass but some of Geoff's solo stuff... C'est vraiment incroyable!
With that being said, Tim's cover of stay/will you still love me tomorrow is just *chef's kiss*
It's an eargasm... yep,
Et Ouii, Tim avec sa voix de 5octaves est impressionnante, il peut chanter aussi haut !! Au fait, super accent en français !! Bonne continuation
Since you mentioned you like low bass vocals..I would suggest you check out the work from the Bass Gang..Centuries is a fav..
I believe I read that they are producing the 'echos' too
You simply can't go wrong with these guys.
Must hear their cover of Brothers in Arms.
