I love how he gets all the ladies on the View enraptured with his story, and then ends on a complete dud. That was hilarious. No one could do that the way Norm did -- hold the audience in the palm of their hand like that, build the story up to a climax, and then just end it with a dud. He was a master of that.
He seemed to be a master of everything he did.

That Hitler’s Dog special was arguably the best stand up he ever performed. His body and mannerisms finally caught up with his lifelong inner old man and they both conspired to tell jokes like an old man. Like more old than usual.

He got called out for a harmless comment that ignited an apology tour, but everyone just glossed over every comment he made about 9/11, comments that I still laugh at now.

Norm is a Canadian household name. He was something that Canadians loved so much. I remembered growing up as a kid back in 2004 loving him at 7 years old only because my dad would be laughing hysterically and i would just laugh with him only because he was laughing. I didn't find Norm MacDonald funny just because i was a kid and didnt understand adults jokea. Now im 26 years old and dying of laughter. What a great Canadian legend.❤

When I first visited with my ex’s parents in Canada her dad and I talked at length about Norm. He was a big fan and was excited to know that the guy who flew in from America to rail his daughter in the basement was a big norm fan. We had a great rapport. I should have railed him instead. But that’s life.

Norm was a true gem.. I discovered his work about a year before his passing. I didn’t even know he was sick🥹😉. I listen to him when I want to lighten my mind and, oddly enough, when I want to fall asleep😅😅. Not sure if there’s anyone else out there who dozes out on these compilations🤣.

When I was younger I didn't get him and was afraid to watch him because of my own ego, but he remained fascinating to me.
Now, I totally get it. He was so unique in absurd surrealism. Deconstructing jokes for his owns entertainment. I don't know any other comic that turns bombs and awkwardness into a slowly building laughter like Norm. And he loves poking and moving the drawn line. That Clinton murder bit is a service to humanity.

Norm "got it"about everything.
I think I had an epiphany watching this. I feel like at some very early point in his life, Norm figured out that he was so incredibly good at telling jokes that they didn't even NEED a punchline. And from that point on he just didn't care to get better in his punchline delivery, quite the opposite he probably learned how to be so anticlimactic that its hilarious in itself.

So many comedians took his skills and absorbed them to help get better. I see so many just doing his flow and it makes me miss Norm that much more. I bet hes proud of how far comedy has gone but also just for people keeping his memory alive. Thats real love

Do I think Norm is the greatest comedian of all time? No. There are some comedians who have made me laugh a lot more. But none of them has made me smile more than Norm. He's the guy I listen to when I had a rough day. He's like a good friend I've never met.
There are comedians who can get the bigger belly laugh, but Norm's stuff often had some many layers I find over the decades it is even more funny. Dice Clay isn't as funny now, but 90s Norm is even more funny.
