  • Here I talk about how to wire up stops & pistons and offer some TOP TIPS on using Universal Midi Encoder.
This is part of a series of FAQ videos I made whilst driving to a job. I thought it would be good to use the time making some new videos answering some of the many questions I get asked via email.
Take a look at my website www.hauptwerkha... for more info or you can email me at contact@hauptwerkhardware.com
I hope you find it useful.

uNDERSTAND QWERTY. But how do you get Haupwerk to treat the key (piston) as a 'stay set' rather than a momentary 'set'. I'm fooling with this issue at the moment. I think it has to be the right/suitable' 'type' input in the menu that arises when one is mapping stops/pistons.

From personal experience when using a factory MIDI-compatible organ like my Yamaha HS4, I found a standard QWERTY keyboard to be a quick and easy way to add many more controls, using Hauptwerk's MIDI Learn feature. I then used a labeler to re-label the QWERTY keys I enabled, for their new functions.
