He was at the movies on a weekend to see cartoons as kids did back then and the theater manager appeared on stage and said they had a big surprise for them. Sandie came onstage and everyone went wild. He even recalled fondly her jokes about being broke and not affording shoes.
Still love this performance after all these years of a Smiths Classic and still love the fact they play bear foot in homage to Sandie Shaws trademark apparently she said her vocals were better that way .

Was Mozz even there? Was he taking a sick day or something? Regardless its a pretty good version and cool to hear The Smiths without Morrissey for one performance.
Canine 322 Sandie Shaw covered this song at the request of Morrisey and Marr. The reasoning being the recognition they’d receive as songwriters. So this song in this performance should not be viewed as the band The Smiths, but as Sandie Shaw featuring The Smiths as was always intended.

she goes down on her knees and stuff. Her legs look kind of not so good (perhaps it's the pantyhose?), interesting dance moves also in the background pro, she in front on stage dances kind of twist from the 20'2 or so?
