Hops and Apples (1930)

Apple farms and hop fields in the Huon, Lenah and Derwent Valleys. Includes the river steamers used to transport the produce to Hobart for export. Orchardists of the future take their first lessons in packaging.

We used to live in Lenah Valley back in the Eighties, I had no idea it had been the site of apple orchards, now in France we are with the grape growers and can see apples from Chilli?

I wonder if the orchard still survives at 1:54? An idyllic time in an idyllic part of the world. Thanks for the film.

Probably not, they were showing Lenah Valley orchards which are now suburbia.
