Ibrahim Afellay: Wilders? Wie is dat?

(Commentaar gesloten. Jammer dat sommigen aan beide zijden van de politieke discussie zich niet konden inhouden en elkaar bleven uitschelden. Pesten/racisme/xenofobie is er al genoeg en ik hoop dat iedere "pestkop" bij zichzelf te rade gaat. Iedere Nederlander, pardon, wereldburger, verdient een gelijke en respectvolle behandeling.)
Ibrahim Afellay is a Dutch soccer player of Moroccan descent playing for the Dutch team in the World Cup. While trianing in Africa, he was asked about his opinion of Geert Wilders, a far-right politician running in the Netherlands general elections. His answer: "Wilders? Who's that?"
Ibrahim clearly intended his reaction to be tongue-in-cheek. Like the majority of Dutch people, he does not like racism or xenophobia. If you do not agree, I still respect your opinion. We live in a free country. But that does not give you or anyone the right to bully or to discriminate.
