Once again awesome work Jay!
Cheers dude! Glad you liked the video!
Saw this on the stream-a-versary, excellent work. Keep it up man!
Thanks man! Glad you could join in!
Stunning mate!
Thanks a lot!
Think I'm going to give this a go when I get round to my knights!
YESSSSS!!!! Do it!
Incredible effect. Absolutely gorgeous. Green Stuff World has some metallic color paints. Are they useful here as a potential shortcut?
Hi David, sorry for the late reply here but it's been a bit busy in the studio! Not really mate, the point of this is that you can apply the highlights and shadows where you want them to be. If you use a coloured metallic paint what you usually find is that there's no chance to add those things in, and you're left to the mercy of the lights in the place that your mini is. This way you have full control of it and it'll give you a much better mini overall
Looks fantastic! I am definitely going to try this.
All Hail the CZcams Logarithm Gods
Praise be to the ommmmmmmmmnisiah
Thanks for the tips
Anytime man! Thanks!
This is really cool, finished thing looks amazing and if I ever get around to painting my knights then I think I will take the metallic route! Just wondering though, would it be easier in the final step to just airbrush on some thinned GW contrast paint, or is there a reason you would steer clear of using them? I just figured this would be something they would excel at.
I find that the contrast paint needs to be thinned just as much as this does when it's going on this way. Also I just wanted to show that you could do it with any paint that you have, and not just with contrast paint or things like tamiya clears.
Soooooo shiny!
Shiny and Chrome!
Holy shit 🤯
Haha - you giving it a go?
@@MohawkMiniatures yes. On necron ark
Awesome man!! I'd love to see it when it's done!
Nice, I tried this before but didn't do any of the right parts! 😂
Haha well now you know which way to do it!
@@MohawkMiniatures yeah I'll need to buy all the paints! 😂
its Friday lol
Currently it's thursday but thats because I've been slack with the comments this week :D
Lovely work, at the time of writing, it is Friday, but what if someone reads my comment on a different day? I wouldn’t want to mislead anyone? So ‘there’s a 1 in 7 chance it’s Friday today.’
Well thank god you nailed that! :D
but how to do with WITHOUT an airbrush. Not everyone has one, you know.
I do know, this is a great reason to get one though. And as always if you don't have one the same effect can be achieved by using glazing, it just takes longer is all! If you're unsure how to glaze I've done a video on how to thin your paint properly that will help!
