The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an action-adventure video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U video game consoles. It is the 19th main installment in the The Legend of Zelda series. The story is set in Hyrule and follows amnesiac protagonist Link, who awakens from a 100-year slumber to a mysterious voice that guides him to defeat Calamity Ganon.

Christopher Potts I've used it extensively, and it hasn't broken, so I don't know if it can break, though it appears from the description that it can break.
The Hylian Shield: an artifact so precious that if you lose it, you LITERALLY have to build a town to get a new one.

You can use a duplication glitch to get basically a full shield inventory of hylian Shields it's a pretty easy glitch too
On my master mode playthrough I discovered that a bomb arrow to the eye will immediately pop the eyeball out even if the stallnox is full health. You can chop the fight in half.

Why does everybody use the stasis for this carts? It also is possible with bombs and you don't take damage. Theres a little "hole" at the end of the cart. Thats where the bomb fits into.

Dude thats exactly what happened to me. I was fighting thunderblight ganon and when he had 2 hits left of his health. I apparently dropped the shield, then hit him those 2 more times and it cut to the cut scenes and then I started back on the ground outside so my shield is in the divine beast with thundeblight Ganon and I can't get back inside there to grab it. Pisses me off.

Why do you think there is a hole for a bomb on the mine cart? Also hylian shield can just be rebought for cheap if you know how to grind out dragon horn. Also should I get expansion pass, after beating the game I feel empty inside.

If you buy the house you unlock a quest were you help a guy build a village after you are done there will be a merchant there that sells rare equipment such as the shield

Why? If it's just really good metal, that's why it's the best shield in the game. If it's actually the one made by Lanayru in SS, then it's been countless eons that the shield's been through and likely isn't as strong as it used to be.
There is an unbreakable sword in the game. There should be an unbreakable bow, and shield
Technically the bow of light you get during the final boss is unbreakable, but there's no in-universe reason to get it before then. This shield also likely isn't made by Lanayru, which has probably been lost to time or broken when its magic wore out.
Theres a difference between the shield being in a more linear game like ss or oot and an open world like breath of the wild..
1: the game tries to encourage searching the world for new weapons/shields to use to prevent an overpowered feel to the game
2: 3k rupees is extremely cheap for an 800 durability shield and you wont be breaking the shield often

I recommend getting 13 hearts and the master sword before getting the hylian shield. The stalnox is very easy to kill with the master sword when in the castle as the master sword "Powers Up", From Thirty to Sixty damage respectively

Just want to point out, you can also use round bombs in the back of the minecart to power it, saves on weapon durability rather than bashing it or stopping midway with a stasis.
Or Square Bombs, both work fine.
Or you could play the game however you want.

I got my Hylian shield two days ago, I think, and it's already broken twice! I've either been taking on way to many guardians, shield surfing way too much, or just playing this awesome game way too much. And every time it has broken has been in a fight with a guardian, those fights did not end well
+ScubaShark8857 I think the Guardian/Blue glow-ey shields take less damage from Guardians so you're supposed to use that against them, not the Hylain shield.

If your in early game and you are up to the Stalnox I recommend using the great eagle bow (earned from beating the flying Devine beast) and bomb arrows
LOL I went a completely different way into the dungeon area: I glided across the moat on the backside of the Castle and used a hole in the wall to get into the area where the Hylian Shield is. Go to area in Hyrule just behind the castle. A hinox is past out in the area near where you glide across the moat. Look for an area of Hyrule Castle that says "LOCKUP" and that's it baby. I've watched so many videos and nobody seems to have done it the way I have lol.

When fighting the Yiga master at the end of the Champions DLC, I got electrocuted and dropped my Hylian Shield. I have no clue how to get back to that special combat area and pick it up! So I'm grateful for your advice on how to buy it again.

Believe it or not, if you go to King Rhoam's room which is hidden in the library, you get a royal guard shield that has a power of 92

Alright, 1 Rupee is obviously equal to 1,000 USD because I can't accept the fact that the Hylian Shield is only worth 3,000 bucks. If a Rupee was equal to 1,000 USD then that would make the Hylian Shield $3,000,000 which is way more acceptable than $3,000

Reviale Gale is the most useful skill in the game . I RAID The Castle Every Blood Moon for good weapons ,bows and shield. before I got Revaile Gale I would scale tower the hard way took time . I've cut my time in half when raiding the castle with revali's Gale. I would also recommend anybody who frequently rids the castle for new equipment every blood moon like I do. Get yourself a Majora's Mask enemies won't aggro

Tip for the Stalnox: use Urbosa's fury. If you hit the eye enough, it'll take you two Fury charges.

A Silver Lynel awaits you there, and, even though I did it my first try (BY SPENDING OVER *20 HEARTY MEALS* AAAAAAA), it should be something you could try. Unless the commenter above me is right aaaand you're just a kid trying to look cool, in which case, still, try it.

one thing I notice by almost every guy that uploads yt videos and goes into a cart... they use it the wrong way, they specially made a area on the back of the cart where you can drop a bom in, instead of using stasis, it wont dmg you and it is easier

I went to kill ganon again,and on my way up I got struck with a electric arrow and the hylian shield sank into the moat and I couldn't get it back with magnesias because it was to deep but I bought one again lil
My Hylian Shield had 144 Power with +54 shield guard.
Mine has 106 with +16
I just got mine today and it had 126 power
I have a fully upgraded shield inventory with hylian shield only, and every single one of them is at 90. Nintendo isn’t dumb enough to put a shield in the game with 800 durability and over 100 defense

"Other" tips:
-Use round bombs for the carts! That's why there's a little cage that fits perfectly for your bombs! Remote Bombs in there are instantly programmed to not damage or ragdoll you
-Yes. The Hylian Shield can break. Pretty sure that's common sense by now in BOTW.
Stal Hinox Fight tips:
-Like any other Miniboss fight. Urbosa's Fury helps out a ton in the Stal Hinox Fight
-If you don't have Urbosa's Fury yet. Then you can climb up and get bullet-time slow motion and shoot a bomb arrow right into the Stal Hinox's face. Apparently, It instantly pops the eye out. Get a good damaging spear or 1 handed weapon and smack the eye up to literally cut the fight in half
-Because your in Hyrule castle anyway. You can find some pretty nice bows and weapons there. Along with Royal weapons which are just OP
Pre Stal-Hinox Fight tips:
-Get the Master Sword before the Hylian Shield. unless you can fight Lynels well.
-Make sure Terry town is completed before you've gotten the Hylian Shield because it's a hassle to finish it.

McGhostly Only a couple? The shield has 800 durability, you can surf from one end of the map to another and get shot by guardians over a hundred times before it'll break. How you fucked it up that bad, idk lol

Can withstand only 27 Guardian shots
And remember that a charging Lynel or a Lynel sideswiping you does over 10 hearts of damage at once. The Hylian Shield should have broken around 2-6 WMLynel fights depending on his skill with dodging.

I haven't really messed with hyrule castle much cause of all of the guardians. I did go and get up the tower and open up my map which was incredibly hard with guardians shooting you off of it but I want this shield so it's time to go get it. I hadn't even discovered that shrine yet yikes 😬

I killed that boss in 30 seconds timer with 7 bomb arrows and one Ancient arrow and master sword

4:10, that’s incorrect,the highest level shield is a royal guard shield with durability up.
I got a bonus effect of shield guard up plus 23 so mine has 113 defence
