- Billy Strings plays "Away from the Shire". Recorded at the ExploreAsheville.com Arena in Asheville, NC, on October 29, 2022. This show was the first of three sold-out shows with the theme "Away from the Shire". The songs were selected to follow the plot from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. This was a Halloween event. The original title for this song is "Away from the Mire".

JUST FN Amazing , years ago when I was a "younger" man a pilgrimage to see The Grateful Dead on New years was a must ......now Billy Strings in Asheville for Halloween IS A MUST !

Red Miller I just subscribed to your channel. Man these videos are awesome thank you so much for sharing. My 2 older brothers and some music junkies I admire do not have nugs yet and been telling em since Halloween night they gotta get nugs. This is one of the best shows ever recorded or made. Seen him this summer with my dad who is 71 yrs old. He's seen every artist from 50s 60s 70s chuck berry the stones with milk Taylor stevie ray vaughn all of em during the song thunder it was at bluestem amphitheater in moorhead mn but about 3/4 of way thru that set I nudged him in arm I said what do ya think dad.... he had thus weird look on his face... he goes Wade it's unreal .. I've never heard anyone play guitar like this he's goes its unreal but beautiful.. its like he's almost goshdamned possessed with that guitar... that night as I write this brings tears to my eyes ... love my old man as much as a son could and it was special to me to see billy for the first time and have my dad there .. I will be bringing both my sons and my daughter they're 9 7 and almost 3 to their first show sooner than later and it will be Billy Strings. What a special talent. Also seen marcus king and tedeschi trucks band those 2 shows were really good I liked marcus better than tedeschi but Billy's show was mondblowingly good!!!!
