  • The audio is VERY LOUD on this for some reason. Use caution.
The 1978 "G.G. Communications" take on Lampwick and Pinocchio's transformation in to donkeys. Very odd indeed.

No problem. And to clarify, "Toyland" is what "Pleasure Island" was actually called in the original Italian story, and "Lucignolo" is "Lampwick" in Italian (more or less) as well.

For the 3 best Pinochio films goes. Disney's Pinocchio (animated) is no.1 with The Adventures of Pinocchio taking no.2 and the 3rd place goes to Emperor of the Night.

  • @heranmouada9864

This is hilarious and shocking. Lucignolo/Candlewick/Lampwick and Pinocchio had their fun in Toyland and then they were turning into donkeys, so the coachman could sell them to the market. Pinocchio was sold to a circus while his poor friend was taken to work in the farmer's mill, which was the evil coachman's plan when he took drove all the kids in the coach to that fun place to make mischief. They all turned into donkeys and got sold to slave labors without changing back to their human forms. And this is the price Pinocchio paid for his disobedience and mischief. But once the wooden boy was out of the circus, his donkey form vanished and he was back to normal. As for Lucignolo who was working hard in the farmer's mill, he became ill and died of exhaustion not before seeing Pinocchio one last time. It was sad Pinocchio watched his poor old friend die in his arms. But I know Lucignolo will rest in peace. After learning his lesson, even as a donkey, Pinocchio reunited with his father, Geppetto, did things right, work hard, and became a real boy by the magic of the blue fairy. Geppetto's wish came true as he accepted Pinocchio as his son. Mm-hmm. Pinocchio the puppet, now Pinocchio the boy.

Who else thinks that Pinocchio ' s design from this version inspired Rebecca Sugar to design the Pearls from "Steven Universe"?
All of the Pearls look just this Pinocchio. Long pointy nose, ballerina slippers for shoes, and our Pearl's outfits are similar to Pinocchio's wardrobe.

Actually I think the writing behind Pinocchio is supposed to translate to "Long live Toyland". And that behind Lampwick/Lucignolo is supposed to translate to "Down with schoolteachers (schoolmasters)" in bad spelling.

The writing behind Pinocchio translates to "long live the country of the Locci" and behind Luccinolo or Lampwick apparently translates to "Down with the sword meters"?, that last one doesn't make much sense.

Lol. I love how 'roundabout' their conversation is.
Pinnochio's outfit is pretty feminine, btw..
