I lost my dear son to suicide 2 years ago. I know all things work together for good to those called according to His purpose, but I had no earthly idea HOW can THIS work out for GOOD? I found this verse. In Isaiah 48:10, God says, "I have refined you, but not as silver is refined. I have refined you in the furnace of suffering." I told the Lord, "I know you're making me into something that I wasn't before. I have been softened in the furnace, Lord. Let your hammer fall." I have been made into a person familiar with tragedy and sensitized to minister to others experiencing tragedies. I am an alcoholic that was 13 months sober at the time and plugged into AA. By the grace of God and with the love and support of my AA family, my restored birth family and my church family I am still sober. I have helped others who lost children to overdoses by telling them God loves them and ask for the Comforter, the Holy Spirit to help them survive. God is GOOD ALL THE TIME! ALL THE TIME God is GOOD!!!
