      The crossover on your amp is probably set too low, and/or the slope is too steep. For example, if you set the crossover at 50hz with a 24db/octave slope(really steep cutoff) you will likely be missing some of those upper base frequencies

    • @kmidst_kn6329
      @kmidst_kn6329 Před 8 měsíci +3

      It could also be nulls in the car or an aspect of the sub enclosure's frequency response. We don't have enough info to know for sure. Even where you place your sub in a home's room will effect the frequency response depending on where you sit to listen.

    Interesting, from this I cant really tell what my box is tuned to, its the factory rockford dual punch box. Definitely bumping a 25hz as you fell the pressure and doors shake but not too loud but from 30hz to 50hz is sounds all the same volume. From my guess its tuned at 40hz but people say 40hz boxes won't play down to 25hz

    tried this on an old bose alarm clock/radio with a 2 inch woofer, it has a weight to lower the fs probably, an is rear loaded with a "waveguide" transmission line thats coiled up through the radio, probably 3 ft long stretched out, doesn't pick up till 60 hz, but thats not bad for a 2 inch woofer, and this is hooked to a straight signal from another amp, this probably had built in dsp for boosted bass, it still resonates badly (thin plastic) and generally sounds like shit , but for its time its not so bad. Modern bluetooth speakers with similar sized drivers put this thing to shame using passive radiators, the small transmission line is an intresting choice though, and the radio is still small too, the woofer has smooth response until the harmonic peaks, but it probably had a high pass originally. the tweeter rolls off after 10k, but its also a 2 inch driver so that makes sense.

      You know, monitors are notorious for absolute jackshit speakers. i don't even know a monitor model or brand that makes a monitor with good speakers.
      You are better off spending a little money on separate speaker system rather than relying on your monitor's speakers, if you want a somewhat decent sound. If you just want to hear something then that's another story.

    • @necrobynerton7384
      @necrobynerton7384 Před 3 lety

      unless its very shitty speakers we are talking about, all speakers respond pretty much from 1hz to whatever khz beyond. Thing is, depends on how it is configured what frequency range it can play well.
      My shitty cheap headphones i can hear 29-30 hz, even lower at higher volumes, but its mostly "felt" than heard. If your speakers are rated at low of 55hz that means they should have some good range of bass at around 55hz that you can hear/feel/enjoy in music, but that doesn't mean you cannot hear lower than 55 hz no matter what.
