The mapping out of the shapes is genius, and I think takes away the over-complicating that I tend to do. I really love the waterfall painting -- both the quick pen & wash and the final piece. Iceland.....I want to go too! (Ever watch the Secret Life of Walter Mitty? Iceland! Great movie)

Good Morning Kristy! Sharpie Method! Yay! I sort of do that…in a way….sometimes 🫤without a Sharpie, but this would get the job done much more quickly. Really, any method that I can use to get to laying down my colors more quickly is great 👍 I enjoy drawing for drawing’s sake…most of the time, BUT when I’m feeling that painting urge, I wanna paint…I don’t want to draw! This is also why I rely a LOT on tracing to get scale, perspective and the big areas blocked out correctly. Otherwise with some resource images I’m keen to use, my own or other public domain, unlicensed images, I just get discouraged so easily and then I want to quit. Thanks!

Kristy, these simple tricks are THE BEST! I'm in my 60s, starting art just lately, and haven't taken any class. I get stuck with "How do I think about this?" And these little demos have gotten me past the "What do I do now?"

So I’m probably not so excited about the sharpie tip (which is, of course, excellent) but the range of possibilities open to me if I can manage to let go a bit and trust my own judgement. This is one of the many reasons I like your videos. I was hoping you’d choose the waterfall. Thank you so much 💕
