Thanks for this! I'm going to use this for my audition song next fall and it's really nice to be able (haha, dumb joke) to finally listen to it with voices and lyrics!
@markncheese Indeed, isn't that strange!? That is what made me throw this song up, and it didn't take me more than 15 minutes to do so. Glad you liked it. Please repay with a subscription and a like!
I never made this world, I didn't even lose it And I know no one said it was fair But they had a garden once They had the chance to choose it They gave it away including my share And now we're lost in wilderness Lost,crying in the wilderness And if anyone's watching it seems they couldn't care less We're lost wilderness You follow all the rules You swallow all the stories And every night you wish on a star Dreaming your day will come, trusting in allegories And every morning boy look where you are Lost in the Wilderness Lost, slowly dying in the wilderness With no chance of living boy, until you confess You're lost in the wilderness Don't you ever watch the eagle fly to the sun And wonder how he got to be so free If you ever have you know your journey's begun Hey what've we got to lose boy, when already we are Lost in the wilderness And where we are headed boy, I couldn't guess but Off we go without a warning Running as we hit the ground Where our future lies a-borning Where our hearts are outward bound Till one bright and distant morning We may stop and look around And there in the wilderness Finally we'll be found!
why is it that there is only 1 original copy of lost in the wilderness on youtube? all these singers, I mean, I love to hear people sing, but I'm preparing for an audition!
It's about Cain and Abel. About Cain's doubt in God, and the fact that they are doomed to live outside of the Garden of Eden because of their parents, Adam and Eve. God banished them from the Garden, to the wilds, or the wilderness. Which in itself is an allegory for the uncertainty of life that we all know each and every day.
A lot of performers, especially original cast, take creative license and change it up to suit their voices and their take o the character, for example the first riff in this that goes up to the A isnt written, infact it sits a lot lower, it is starnger trying to learn off this then sing with sheet music :S
My left ear loves this song!
AHHH!! My music director sang this but I couldn't find the title of the song! Now finally, after a month, I find it... THIS IS A MIRACLE!!
Totally awesome...
Anybody else only have sound from one speaker, though, while listening?
Wow the guy who plays Cain has an absolutely beautiful voice...amazing...

Thanks so much for putting this up! I was part of CoE and this was one of my favorite songs. And oh my that riff!
This is our opener for show choir. It'll be fantastic.
This, Little Women, and Wicked are some of my ALL TIME FAVE MUSICALS!!!!!!!
Thank you ever so much for putting this up!
@J03y29 It was up before but they took it down and it took forever for somone to put it up again, thank you :)
I never made this world, I didn't even lose it
And I know no one said it was fair
But they had a garden once
They had the chance to choose it
They gave it away including my share
And now we're lost in wilderness
Lost,crying in the wilderness
And if anyone's watching it seems they couldn't care less
We're lost wilderness
You follow all the rules
You swallow all the stories
And every night you wish on a star
Dreaming your day will come, trusting in allegories
And every morning boy look where you are
Lost in the Wilderness
Lost, slowly dying in the wilderness
With no chance of living boy, until you confess
You're lost in the wilderness
Don't you ever watch the eagle fly to the sun
And wonder how he got to be so free
If you ever have you know your journey's begun
Hey what've we got to lose boy, when already we are
Lost in the wilderness
And where we are headed boy, I couldn't guess but
Off we go without a warning
Running as we hit the ground
Where our future lies a-borning
Where our hearts are outward bound
Till one bright and distant morning
We may stop and look around
And there in the wilderness
Finally we'll be found!
@Vidbjorg "I don't get it.. where are they lost?"
In.. the wilderness... ... .. ?
@Dazboz1
You are very welcome!
Glad you liked it.

@bingotheraccoon
That's a shame... I have in both speakers, and the file in Sony Vegas says there should be sound in both.. :S I'm sorry about that!
:) thx 4 putting this on CZcams :)
This is the first song I've ever heard with TWO belts in it
foooooooooooound!
@isudude0913 omg.. it was i joke.. he keeps singing that he is lost in the wilderness..
I have a strange suspicion that Adam Lambert would rock this song.
@Jay Ingram I did nothing. It is the performers that raised it. And did a bloody well job rising it.
I am playing Cain in an upcoming performance, this video is gonna help a lot!
Why is the track higher than the sheet music?
I figured that it was that or the OP raised it so that it would conflict with copyright claims.
@J03y29 will do
Cool thank you!
@bingotheraccoon @j03y29 it's both speakers but i hear more from my left than right
I don't get it.. where are they lost?
What key is this in?
@bingotheraccoon yeah same
Amen to that.
ya, me too! how wierd..and thts the one that doesn't work :'(
