  • From May 16th, 2024. Please rise & join us in the singing of ‘O Canada’ aka the Canadian National Anthem. 🇨🇦 Definite big thanks once again tonight to my buddy Scott Nauert for the heads up once he saw and knew this rather neat train was heading my way upon its eastbound departure from bnsf’s lindenwood yard. No clue what this trains symbol is at all. I knew once he sent the pictures he took of it I had to get it on video with my iPhone. Here we have a long eastbound empty WFAX coal train passing by in downtown Saint Louis at Cerre street and gratiot on its way up towards the bnsf K-line at north market. WFAX stands for “western fuel associates” who these coal hoppers are owned and operated by. Came by here at around 7:45 pm as I was also waiting on Amtrak 21 the southbound Texas eagle from Chicago to depart Saint Louis for San Antonio. After it passed here you can also see many of the green UP ballast cars on an eastbound loaded Union Pacific ballast train that came off the Desoto sub earlier ahead of Amtrak 21 as it was departing here heading across the river and over into Illinois. This eastbound WFAX empty coal trains single and also its only lead engine is one of my favorites. It’s a beautiful Canadian National EMD SD75I #5699. The other thing that also surprised me with this train was the fact it had no additional motive power bringing up the tail end of it. This train came into lindenwood yard off the bnsf river sub earlier. Must be going back out west on many other train routes to Wyoming for another load of powder river basin coal. Whenever I catch a Canadian national locomotive leading or on any freight trains here in Missouri or especially over in Illinois I think about my number one favorite neighborhood province of Canada and their great NHL hockey team known as the Montreal Canadiens who are way better than the Saint Louis blues. Montreal has also won the largest and most number of Stanley cups in the NHL which still stands at 24. Blues only have won 1 Stanley cup since 2019. Hope you all like this great video by me. Feel free to comment on it too. Enjoy! Jason.
