I think McWeeny is actually good at Comic Book Movies, unlike Levine, haha
It's definitely an interesting question to think about. However, their performance in the 80's category kind of shed some light on that as they got questions from many different genres, despite them being 80's movies.
I've really come to like McWeeney a lot more through this tournament, being with Sam he's shown off a lot more personality and really seems to be enjoying himself much more. Above the Line have grown on me quickly, a really likeable and knowledgable team.

For a team that was essentially grown in a lab instead of organically forming (like a Top 10, Wolves of Steel, etc.) Above the Line has incredible chemistry and insane knowledge. Kristian basically created the ultimate challenge for the Patriots, and I love that.
What an insane match, for both Above The Line and Wolves of Steel, 2nd place coming in at a whopping 32 points. That's crazy.

3. Most amount of consecutive matches for a competitor to get all questions, plus the bonus question, right in the first round.
I've not seeing a match this epic with such amazing performances since Andreyko vs The Beast.

For all people who think that Above the Line are killing it because of their luck in round two: do you see how they perform in round one in ALL the categories? They are incredibly well-rounded, both of them. Looking back, I don't have a clue why Samm has 3-4 record in the singles. Unbelievable.
In samms defense all of his losses are to people who either held the belt, or later challenged for the belt.
Totally agree. Samm has just had shit luck when it came to round 2 categories in the past, and he's taken on some of the best in the league.

This was a top tier match worthy of a semi final (hell a final). Feel bad, of course, for Wolves Of Steel, since they were getting their groove in this tournament. Unfortunately for them Above The Line was absolutely fantastic. McWeeny is on another level right now. Rooting for Top 10 strongly, but this tournament is Above The Line's to lose.
One of the best matches in Schmoedown history! First time my wife and I were rooting for different teams and I'm glad to say my team won! Let's go Above the Line VS Team Action in the finals.

Bea the best dead right, drew had a perfect round 1, but Sam only missed one.
That may have been the best match in the Schmoedown that I have ever seen! You got two teams that spun their strengths for the wheel, players that scored 6, 7, 7, and 9 points in Round 1, McWeeny being the first to get back-to-back 9-point Round 1's, and the new Team Point Record! All players carried their weight and there were no controversies! It was like watching Game 7 of the 2016 World Series again! You can't be unhappy with that match! Bravo!
Simply put, this is one of the greatest shows currently on CZcams. You guys truly have created something special. Don't quit. Within time, I know this is going to grow into a massive audience. Congratulations.

Oh God, my brain is melting!!!! What a freaking match!!! This could've been easily a final match, what a bunch of talented people! I love seeing Drew having so much fun, you can tell Samm was the best choice as a team partner, they're wonderful together.

I am a hardcore top 10 fan. But, when you have a Veronica Mars alumni on a team - hard to root against them. Probably the best schmoedown I have ever seen. And I have seen everyone of them.

This tournament was already full of some of the best matches in SD history and then there is this one. Two new records, a final score of combined 67 points. Just incredible. Everyone at that table deserves a star at the SD walk of fame.

32 points by the losing team. That wins approximately 95% of all team matches played (basically all but 2 in the history of the Schmoedown). Great match for both teams; and the winner has to be the odds on favorite to dethrone the Patriots. The Patriots have NEVER played close to that well, in any of their matches.
Vox Ratio to be fair tho, if you take into account the winners of tko or ko games, they can probably get sround 32 points
+Bash Brothers Fair point. There have been 7 relatively recent matches with the 16(+2)/12/10 format with a TKO/KO where the winner could have scored more than 32 points.
Of these, Wolves of Steel (39 possible), DC Movie News (36 possible) and IGN (35 possible) could have done it while missing a 3rd round question.
The other four - Above The Line (33 poss), Team Action (33 poss), Critically Acclaimed (33 poss), 6 Degrees (34) would have had to hit all three.

Prudhvi Raj Jenn is definitely the best post match interviewer. But to be fair, she was a sideline reporter for the New York Jets and a journalist so she is an experienced professional at this gig.

I legit can't get over how good AtL is. Yeah they got lucky with spinners choice, but they decimated. The knowledge between those two is truly astonishing. And I will miss Reilly so damn much in this tournament. Wolves of Steel RIP )':

I really hope Top 10 wins. If any team is to take the belts away from those cocky patriots, it should be them. With that being said, Above the line has become one of my favorite teams!

Goodbye wolves of steel you were a great team but this tournament gave us a lot of great new teams like above the line so looking forward to seeing their future in schmoedown.
Many people have pointed out that the Points Scored record is opponent dependent, since you need your opponents to keep up with you in order to give you the opportunity to score more points. While this is true, I don't believe it devalues the record at all, it merely shifts the focus of it.
Instead of being a showcase of how many questions a record setting player/team got correct, it signifies an amazing match, as exemplified by the record setting performances of Rocha/Harloff, Bibbiani/Andreyko, Action/LttP, and now AtL/WoS, all classics. And for a player/team to be the winner of a classic match like that, shows their ability to not just score a lot of points, but do so while facing a tremendous amount of pressure from their opponent.
That's why I think the Points Scored record is absolutely a significant one, and deserves the recognition it has received thus far. Congrats to the Wolves of Steel on an amazing performance, and an even bigger congratulations to Above the Line, the new record holders. Good luck in the finals!

Sad to see Wolves of Steel go. Although I wasn't their biggest fan, after their Late To The Party victory, I was hopeful they'd acclimated and were going to dominate. I wanted to see Riley enter retirement on a high note. And Clarke to obtain a much deserved belt. WOS story ends on a sad note.
I love it how the matches keep getting better as the tournament progresses. We don't get to see that elsewhere.

Above the Line has really gelled into being a great team to watch. I will forever be a fan of the Wolves of Steel and I thank them for the many hours of entertainment they have given us...but now their watch is ended. Speaking of which...
