The fact the pup went straight back after he squeeked. Theyre so stubborn. 😂🤦🏻♀️
LOL made me laugh so hard
Puppy breath and needle teeth! My favorite!!🙂❤
they're all different sizes. it's so cute
That biting pup is gonna be extra great at the bite work. He was just trying to tell you that he can't wait for you to train him 😁
😂😂😂
That little pup is going to work on that pocket😂🤣🤣
LOL, let's just hope he bites the right person. If he gets carried away and bites the owner when he reaches 120 Lbs. that will mean a trip to the ER. Mine is already able to do some damage at 3 months so I'm working hard to get him not to direct it at me. If I ever decide to train him for bitework it will be after he has mastered self-control and learned all his other obedience and I'd use someone else as a decoy; never myself.
Actually no
‘I like them to be a little bit of a gangster when they are young’ 👍🏼
I just got a new GSD puppy and I've been watching CZcams for days! This was the most useful, simple, common-sense video I've watched - so thank you!
I just got a gsd puppy too and all other advice doesn’t stop the biting. Can’t wait to try this.
@@timfallas9347 update us! How are you surviving the puppy stage?! This has worked on my AussieDoodle or fuzzy piranha as I call him. 😂
Beckman training is good too
How’s it going?
This was helpful. Mine is a little shark and I was given that “awh” advice and she only bites me harder. I’ve tried redirecting with a toy but when she gets in those rough biting moods there is no stopping her so I’m going to try this. Thanks!
did it help?
How did it workout for you?
Me too !
Put your thumb in their mouth in under the tongue and press. Not too hard, just enough to have control. It doesnt hurt them. Its just uncomfortable. They dont like it. They stop instantly. Then redirect them by giving them something they can bite. Just be consistent and he will eventually get it. It worked for me. I have an Alapaha.
I have a 10 week land shark who also gets into those rough biting moods. Not sure if it worked for you but I'm definitely gonna try this myself.
Can’t wait for all the sensitive people who think they know about dogs to see this lol hahaha 😂
Literally came to the comments for that 💀😂
@@jamee3374 Me too!!
The Zak George people would have heart attack over this

@@TheDogWithTheMan 🤝😅😅😅😅
I like your comment about playing on the ground. I have done that with my Rotties. They do learn very young to not bite, but when we are down on the floor most of the rules kind of go out the window😉. They can jump and “nicely” nip and growl and tug and bowl me over all they want. When I stand up and say “all done guys” the “rules” come back in place.
It's nice seeing that even the most admirable trainer with the highest bred dogs need consistency in training and sometimes results don't come after the first correction.
It never comes after first correction. You will have to repeat many times before it clicks. Puppies have the attention span of a gnat. They will only remember what makes the most startling impression on their developing brains, namely stern correction. This guy did great.
I love that little pup chewing the heck out of your pocket. He must have some treats in there...not giving up
Watch how a mama GSD disciplines her puppies she makes them cry
He aint ganna raise them like bitch
EXACTLY.
LOL - I am a retired teacher and about to get my first purebred GSD (NOT my first rodeo - have owned many dogs, among other critters). I find it hilarious how raising a dog is a lot like how discipline works in a typical classroom. Great Video, Great Advice. Thank You
Simple & clear - this is amazing advice for people! Especially those raising working dogs, but for pet people too!
Thank you very much for this video, you don’t know how much I needed it. The sable puppy is literally my 8 weeks old puppy, she will definitely be a great protection dog. Sometimes, I think I have a land great white shark instead of a puppy. Thank you for all your wonderful videos!
Hey Kaz, love your stuff. You inspired me to attend a decoy training today. Keep up your amazing work, the information you’re putting out there is amazing.
The more I watch the more I learn. I feel your passion for these amazing dogs. God Bless.
the knowledge youre dropping is MIND BLOWING. Love the content!
THIS IS GREAT!!! Another great video! Great tips! I wish I knew this few months ago! I tried saying "ouch" and my GSD puppy thought I was squeaking and it's time to go harder. He just turned 3 months and I'm anticipating more nipping. Thank you for sharing this!!
Love that pup that one in your jacket make a good guard pub or bite dog. What a sweet pup and came back every time people are so judge mental when it comes to correct them their dogs I love your channel keep up your great work.
omg! that little chunkster is adorable. can't believe they're all from the same litter. love your training style. i have a 3 mos old GSD and we start official training with gemini K9 in toronto soon. can't wait for myself to be trained, 'train the trainer'.... thanks for these vids they're very helpful.
And that is what I needed. I have 10 week old german shepherd working line puppy and he acts of course the same like those puppies. I do almost the same with my doggy when he bites me and now I know I do it right. Thanks for your excelent, super useful videos!
I love your philosophy on dogs. I wish more people thought that way.
I like what you said about letting the puppies be puppies .. I am new to being a Mom of my guy, Jocq. He is 11.5 wks old. Got him when he was 7 wks. old. Because I have not detoured playful puppy biting I am comfortable in letting Jocq mouth me however he does know when he has gone over the line. I like that you showed us how to correct a behavior by getting ahold of the scruff or ear. Will start to implement that into my corrections instead of what I have been doing. Thanks!!!
I'm in love with that tiny girl! Loved her since that first video with her.
The "armchair experts that have never done anything". Hahahaha! You're so funny. I love your videos. Thank you for doing this!!!!!!
Thank you so much I’ve been waiting for this video !!!
perfect timing for this video, just got a working line gsd a few weeks ago and have been dealing with tons of puppy biting
My Shiloh left scares on my ankle and shins. They do grow out of it
Can't u share a video on ur channel
@@peterreinartz545 It’s been going really good, he still gets mouthy when over excited but besides that doing well.
I just got a 6 week old GSD and damn he loves the Achilles
This is by far the THE BEST video on puppy biting out there. Especially for GSDs. It is a very balanced perspective or approach with a lot of common sense thrown in. Thank you for this.
I think people forget that small, fun-to-chase critters like rodents, rabbits, and other animals scream/squeal when they’re being killed. That’s why dog toys squeak! Saying "owh!!" only encourages a dog by imitating prey.
Your videos are always great, I need more of them!
Armchair expert here. I approve this video! 👏
Thank you for this video! 18 weeks old and my GSD pup is now finally biting me less harshly. She bit harder if I made noises, I had to just redirect to "sit" or chew toys.
That puppy seemed even more into him after the correction. Because dogs like being trained. It simulates their brain and strengthens their bond with human which is their fav thing!
Learning loads of insight from this channel. Listen intentionally and you will too.
Well that worked rather quickly. Thanks for the lesson. You just saved me a bunch of money on pants.
GREAT VIDEO MAZ.....LOVE that little sable!!!! actually love them all!!
Excellent video man thank you for the tips!
I am going to get a GSD this is very helpful thank you.
That's the best info for puppy biting I have found
Recently found you. Agree with everything you say and do all great advice I enjoyed your video so much I forwarded to my daughter.
First off - best puppy biting video I’ve watched hands down! So simple and to the point. THANK YOU! Question: Could the scruffing with the ear damage their ear cartilage? I see so much about being careful with their ears if you want them to grow to stand up so I’m curious about this for our 8 week old gsd puppy.
Gonna implement this with my little 10 week land shark, great info! Thank you sir! 😁
I love how the dogs are biting Haz and he's like I don't mind the biting so much and at the end the puppy starts kissing him and he's outta there ! HAHAHA great video.
Thank you. This helps me feel better about how I gave been dealing with my puppy and kids. I say no and remove him if he does to them (supervised play) and if he's with me I just tell him easy because puppies bite. Our end goal is a protective family dog.
Good video, very well explained. I try to do both, bite inhibition (stopping the bite) as well as bite force control ( how much pressure they bite with). While it bites on me during play I pet his head by the ear and when they bite hard I pinch the ear applying equal pressure as their bite. Basically showing them when I feel pain. (That doesn't hinder bite work but it does save my ass when the dog bites me by accident.)
Great video guys. Awesome information as usual.
My German Shepherds just had 7 pups 9 wks ago. My 3 yr old male is an AKC LONG HAIR, My female is 3 as well, short hair..( I think she thinks she has to play tackle me when I get home from excitement.lol) and 1 of the males we are keeping is horrible with the nipping and biting. I dont remember my 3 yr old male being quit this bad. Thank you for sharing your video, its greatly appreciated.
Great Video!!! Keep up the great work.
Excellent content and those puppies….oh so cute.
hey Haz thanks for the video. I recently got a working line GSD and her nipping is starting to hurt! Redirecting hasn't been as effective as I'd hoped. No idea why I never thought to grab the scruff like you show, I'll be sure to give it a shot the next time she bites too hard. Also teaching the marker for when a correction will follow is SUCH a good idea.
Fantastic info , thank you for your time and effort
Literally have watched 100+ different videos on this. You have actually proved the best thing to do and simple as can be. Be repetitive on this is all
Great video! Also wanna point out that none of the "corrections" in the video came from a place of emotion, they all come from how I set this dog for success in a human world.
The smallest one was so cute! I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. 😍
Where was your cameraman, in a tree??
All I could hear were the birds! LOL~
Great advice, as usual.. I was a little concerned about this early on with my working line GSD puppy but it was advice like yours that helped me through the doubt and confusion over the subject.. Thanks and keep doing what you’re doing. Many of us benefit from your experience!
Listen bro I think u do amazing work I really appreciate all the videos and info keep up the amazing work
I love these videos and I’m so glad you made this!! Can you also do one on potty training a puppy?
I’m glad to know that I’m doing ok with my Belgian Malinois pup. I don’t like the robotic way of raising him so I’m letting him play a lot. My older gsd is the disciplinarian and keeps him in line.
My two year old was playing with our two month old Rotty. Puppy started bitting and nipping too much so she grabbed her by the scruff and instantly everything was back to under control lol. I didnt teach either of them. Its nature. Positive reinforcement .. sure but there needs to be discipline and balance too. Love this video and your sense of humour lol .. saying ouch to the dog lmao
This is supergreat content. Thanks! Greetings from Spain
What great commonsense info.... and those puppies are over the top adroable!
So much knowledge great video
Thank you for much for this video. I have been looking for this type of video since getting my lab. She nips extra when she’s hungry and it was incredibly frustrating. My husband did what you did for corrections but I was afraid it was too much. We train her and love her lots any other time. But it gives me reassurance that it isn’t too much.
Great content! Thank you!
Thanks! That actually works 👍
You have to be tough with them. Thank you for not falling into the pansy beta type training. Dogs do NOT think that way. Watch any mother dog discipline her puppies. She doesn't "redirect" shit. She sharply corrects them and they fall in line. She does NOT hurt them, she corrects them. There is a HUGE difference.
Exactly. I hate it when some people treat their dogs as human toddlers. Like you can sit and explain rules to them lol. Their language is different than humans.
I'm learning, thank you.
Awesome! Actually helpful! The making loud noise, re-directing with a toy or treat does NOT work. I've given it a fair shot.
Thank you for this information! We just got out first Belgium Malanois. She is only 6 weeks but those little shark teeth hurts! We are going to implement this for sure.
How did it work out for you, did it settle down the biting a good bit? Mine is 7 weeks today and is an absolute menace
Great vid and excellent advice
Watching all methods on this! this is the primary reason for puppy blues and going mentaly insane! will try this on my next puppy(if the problem is making me insane)!:D
idk this industry is filled with so many oppinions, best thing to to stay with one, try it for a while, if doesnt works - shift it to the next, everyones like the expert here
Love your videos ❤️
GREAT video!
This was sooooo helpful thank you! Quick question, I have a one year old beagle that still plays by biting. It's never out of anger but play but he's big enough it hurts. Wish I would have found this video a year ago. Would you apply the same type of corrections to get the behavior to stop with an older dog?
Brilliant video, I am having a lot of issues with my 4 month old German shepherd cross rottie, I have tried everything!! Was using the scruff method for a while but felt it was too aversive but it’s the only thing that works!! I have tried touch correction, leash pop etc and nothing works, I will try this!
Very helpful!
What a great little working prospect.
Great video!!
Excellent advice
I’ll take these videos with the metal music all day!
You’re a bad ass even though you’re Canadian! Lol I’m only kidding! I love lots of things Canadian. Thanks for sharing all this knowledge on shepherds. I am an absolute idiot when it comes to training and communicating with dogs. Your vids at least give me a since of direction.
Love your videos! Would you consider doing one on doing this type of training for a career? I have always kept shepherds and worked with animals, and Im looking into going to school for training police k9s, protection dogs and service dogs. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
That's why I swear by Sheild K9, logical & realistic dog training. A good suggestion lead from Animal Watch episode on #FinnsLaw & Police Working Dogs... CZcams algorithm worked well this time around, glad I found the channel.
Very nicely said.
Great video.
I love the bluntness far better to be honest.
The armchair "experts" who are anything but expert!! Perfect! 🎯
We all know those dog expert owners who freak out at your discipline and training methods. They're the ones who are in obedience schools forever, because Fido and Fluffy are the worst undisciplined dogs on the block. They return the most dogs to shelters and rescues. They're the no boundary, no limit fur-baby parents. You know the ones that have the chewed up walls, furniture and shoes, resource-guarding, food fixated, typically under-exercised/ obese, neurotic mess that is the thug of the dog park.
Very true!!!!
THANK YOU 🙏 I see this all the time here in NYC!
Love your videos
He is a very good happy and confident puppy … going to be an amazing dog. Needs the right owner pls don’t sell him to someone who does not understand and value what he is :)
That little one is relentless 🤣
excellent advice
Always speaking sense 👌🏻
Thank you for this video
I use the scruff technique to. However the vet told me off, they said its where they inject and do stuff, and the dog will associate the scruff grabbing when they try to do something. However a rottweiler even at 4 months old has a real hard bite. So little choice. I agree it's really the only way. Pack leader
The end was right on the money, no Alfa rolling, ear biting bullsh!t!
It similar to jumping, it’s a behavior that can be corrected easily, but can then be trained back in for those times your dog has your permission to jump on you, every dog I work with learns “lap”, and they love it.
Man i need you to make puppy training videos especially on the leash having a little trouble with my little corso she keeps chewing the leash even when I try to pull out a treat and step back. She will follow but then sit down
wow that was awsome :O Holy heck wow THANK YOU
