  • Cigarette giant British American Tobacco is taking a 31.5 billion dollar hit - after writing down the value of its US brands. The company says inflation is making consumers shift to cheaper brands and of course some people prefer vaping to traditional cigarettes. And with regulation bound to get tougher - be it vaping or smoking - what could the future for tobacco companies look like? A conversation with analyst Rae Maile.

A Better Tomorrow? THAT'S their slogan?? They could have chosen anything and they took the "good of mankind" route. A tobacco company. Literally incredible.

I;m down to my last pack of cigarettes and have smoked these cancer sticks for 31 years and plan to quit after I'm down to my last puff, probably tomorrow night. Tis the season to quit smoking.

05:07 "If smokers do choose to smoke, then they should also be supported by the industry... It is a personal choice after all." -- Well, unlike other highly addictive drugs, smokers do not only harm their own health. How many passive smokers per cigarette are there on average? Will it be 10? Or more? And many of those are children.
And all the other things Mr. Maile said thereafter: He is profiting from the tobacco industry flourishing, isn't he?
