My Dad, Urquhart Aden Danbacher, helped build this road between Pleasant Bay and Cape North in 1934. I even have a few pictures my grandmother took. It was quite a feat for those days.
Beautiful Cabot Trail....just one correction "winding 180 miles northward in a circular route from Baddeck" - The Cabot Trail is a circle thus it does not begin nor end in Baddeck. There are several entries on to the trail. The Cabot Trail has very much to offer! Not only beauty but the opportunity for a wonderful vacation with many small villages along the trail offering accommodation, restaurants, gift shops, activities, cultural experiences, music and dance and so much more.
