- Here it is my very frist game show i ever recived in a trade, the criminally short-lived Game Show, Time Machine hosted by Hollywood Squares' John Davison
this is the premiere episode witch aired on NBC January 7, 1985
John Takes us on a Joruney through the times of our lives and at the end of this Joruney is Jackpot of prizes worth $22,000!
frist: Shannon plays Tube Game for a home entertainment center
then: Barbara plays Main Event for $5,000 in cash

I would so love to see a revival of this show and I'd be on it. It's History IQ 15 years earlier. Apparently, John must have read in the trades about the New Leave it to Beaver.

Boy, that Tube Game didn't require a lot of intelligence..and I don't think the other networks would appreciate their logos being used on NBC now.
Underrated show, but more importantly, underrated host. I will grant you this much, Peter Marshall and Tom Bergeron were better Squares hosts, but that doesn't make John the terrible host that many make him out to be. Give me him over the some of the recent hosts like Karn, Morreale, etc.
"If you're watching for the first time, maybe you don't know. This is our first show."

Anyone else notice that at the end of the "Tube Game" that the NBC logo didn't go down like the other two logos did?
i watched this show.
@johnissoevil presonaly i think Tom and John did good job hosting Hollywood squares but as they say "you can't the original" Peter is the TRUE master of the Hollywood Squares
@Tubewings i noticed that too and john would of had to kick it or someting if the prize was behind the NBC logo

I enjoyed this show through all the format changes, but I don't think hosting came naturally to John.

Looking back now, Time Machine would have done better either in the 1990s in the 2000s with its second format.
