    Hi, very helpful, but I still have a couple of questions:
    1) I don’t quite understand the very differences between “selfie mode” and “ macro mode” since the have the same focal distance.
    2) what’s the focus distance when shooting automatic, or double exposure or lighten and darken mode. They just specify the focus distance when shooting macro, selfie and landscapes. Thank you!

    Focusing zones are somehow mode settings alongside double exposure, darker and lighter modes. It seems like you can only choose one at a time, as there's only one MODE button, and you switch through all the options by clicking it. Does this mean that double exposure, darkening or lightening are only available in the landscape focus zone? Or is there some trick to this?

      @fujiguys  Před 6 lety +2

      Thanks for the feedback.
      While we are not going to suggest a particular brand or model, as long as the tripod will support the weight of the camera (393g / 13.9oz.) which is lighter than many digital cameras. Look for one about 6" or so long as a minimum. But, it's important to ensure the tripod can handle the weight of the camera.

    • @robertschellhammer3565
      @robertschellhammer3565 Před 2 lety +1

      Lighten/darken as well as double exposure default to 'auto mode focus' (2-6 ft). My work-around for more distant subjects is to use landscape mode and attach ND gels with removable double sided tape. Cover the lens to darken and cover the sensor to lighten. I generally use a .15ND (1/2 stop) gel over the lens for 90% of my shots. A .3ND (1 stop) is useful for double exposures (2-6ft). A Roscolux swatch book ($10) has all sorts of ND & color gels.

      This is a consumer camera. The reality is that if Fujifilm wasn't targeting a consumer market, where people buying it want something easy to use -a rangefinder does not qualifies as easy to use -, they'd be no Instax. It is nice to see that Mint can produce camera that suits you better (with a much heavier price tag), and we should all be happy with it - and Mint could decide to also have a camera using Instax Squre.

    • @EDHBlvd

      Hubert Figuière the point is Fuji makes endless versions of basically the same instax camera. With mini film they have so many models over the year which are all the same. Hell even Leica rebranded one’s. They could try harder like Lomography and Mint for a change and offer something more interesting than a tiny aperture camera with limited features.

      Saadia Asif you know actually you are right. If you want a digital camera that allows you to print only when you find the picture worthy of "printing" then sq10 is for you. Or better yet...buy a digital camera and print your photos. With real Polaroid type camera there is no redo and no retouch. You messed up the picture it's your fault. You did it correctly and it came out like you wanted, great. But there is always the element of uncertainty with instant films (unless you are good at controlling your environment) which gives it extra flavor. If you want to take the picture 50 times, edit them in camera and print the best one, that is your right and sq10 is better for that for sure. For me it's it's a betrayal of Instant photography idea.
      What most "Polaroid type" cameras do is basically, opening the shutter and let's in the light. So it exposeses the instant film to light burning the image on it. The only thing that is between the subject and instant film is the lens. As I understand it and have observed from other videos about sq10 and their manual pdf...there is a digital sensor between the film and lens so it's not true instant film experience. I don't own an sq10 and I can't be sure but I don't think that in "auto" mode the sensor goes down and the film is really exposed through the lens. I might be wrong of course. If anyone knows beter please correct me with evidence. Also if I explained sth wrong, may sb correct me. Don't hesitate.

    The batteries are the killers CR2 how much will that cost over time?👎🏻No manual control 👎🏻No hotshoe or Pc sync connector. No auto focus. A the big fail , when are you going to upgrade the 300 wide ,you can put all this in it ,but you don,t care do you
    So Fuji you,ve wasted you time and money creating some thing that won,t sell

    • @flakeu

      I'm laughing right now.. Fuji makes more money from their Instax lineup than their digital cameras. In a previous Fujifilm annual report, it states "Instax instant camera, annual worldwide sales volume exceeded 5 million units". I believe Fuji knows their target audience better than you do.

    • @jonnyboy8000
      @jonnyboy8000 Před 6 lety +3

      flakeu Fuji is marketing this to non serious people ,who will use this off and on when needed ,believe me the day the batteries die , they aren’t down to Poundland to get new ones ,you have to go online and this is going in the kitchen draw , their cameras power via usb ,why not this ,it would be common sense as phones are charged via usb, I personally have changed all my battery chargers to usb so that when I need power I can get it from either the car or the power pack ,with this I need to go out and buy a separate pack of batteries
      Fuji needs to think of the future those young girls buying those cameras will move onto something else Fuji need to think of the future and market to all people to sell more.I personally use Instax wide monochrome on a Polariod 600se made to shoot Instax .Fuji has given this film zero exposure ,pardon the pun , I go to photo show and the Fuji stand always has colour mini film never the mono film. Fuji can market to professional/serious photographers ,there is a market out there if somebody would supply a serious camera to show the film at it’s best.

      I do agree that choosing the CR2 batteries is not the smartest decision but I highly doubt the demographic buying this particular camera will refuse to buy it because of this point alone. Like you said it yourself, the majority of people who will purchase the SQ6 will be non professional and mostly female. These people are not interested in knowing more about photography, they just want to press a button and have ''instant'' gratification. I bet that they never heard about what's a PC sync port, hotshoe and all you said in your original comment. If Fuji didn't had Instax, these people would have never bought a camera in the first place. Popular mass products like this one will always outsell any specialized pro gear. It's the same with cars too.. the Corolla is a huge cash cow for Toyota compare to their more sporty 86 which is more into a niche market.

    Completely pointless! Just get a pocket printer for your phone and get better quality.
    It's the exact same thing.
    There needs to be an optical path from the lens to the film.
    This is just a bad digital optical printer with a camera attached.

    • @MissDgirlD
      @MissDgirlD Před 6 lety +4

      Alexandra Starr Photography I agree. It boggles my mind that most of their cameras use AA and the Mini 90 even has rechargeable but they decide to slap CR2 batteries in an $130 camera??

    • @AlexandraStarr1974
      @AlexandraStarr1974 Před 6 lety

      My old polaroid snap had a built in rechargeable, it worked just fine, so what was fuji thinking when they decied to go with ancient CR2's? I am sure these CR2's corrode quite badly too if left inside for long periods, my old canon av-1 had a cr2 powering it and after looking at the camera after a few years neglect, the battery compartment was corroded and nasty. camera unusable unless i replaced the entire battery compartment. What an oversight on fuji's part!

    • @MissDgirlD
      @MissDgirlD Před 6 lety +2

      Alexandra Starr Photography Oh wow! I still want the camera because I love the square format but was not impressed with the SQ10. Maybe I'll look into some reliable rechargeable CR2 batteries.

    • @ChicagoHypebeast
      @ChicagoHypebeast Před 6 lety

      100% a deal breaker in me buying this camera. I hated having to search for CR2s for an old film camera meter. Not impossible to find, but I can't go on vacation and buy a bunch either. They should have included a rechargeable battery or AAs.
