It’s actually a nice car that I’d buy used, I just wish they’d let you option the 3.6 v6 like the old one because those were way quicker than most people realize, this body style is way better looking than the old one too and the best looking equinox they ever came out with probably, even the 2.0t in the premier trim is pretty quick
1:17 I've found the mileage indicators to be somewhat inaccurate. In my 2023 Toyota Corolla it always overestimated and in my 2024 Mazda 3 it underestimates by about 1.5 mpg. Not a huge issue but I wouldn't take their readings as gospel.
I worked for enterprise right before Covid. Lots of Chevrolets and Nissans. That was the majority of our fleet. If we were lucky, we would get a Toyota or two. Those were miles ahead of our usual cars.
Yea, the gm system ain’t the best, I just turned it off on the Malibu I had at one point , I’ve had it freak out going over speed bumps and manhole bumps, you could just be driving along and have it start flashing red on the windshield and beep have the crap scared out of you
For almost 14 months I’ve been a shuttle vehicle driver at a Chevrolet dealership. We have two 2020 awd Equinoxs. Both 1.5 turbo. They drive very nice, I just don’t like that GM puts cheap timing chains in them. Seeing one come in with 150,000 miles is considered high mileage.
As far as rental cars go, I guess you could do worse. My grandmother recently bought a new Equinox. It's aggressively mediocre. The materials are cheap, it's neither fast nor slow, but it's roomy and reasonably comfortable. I tried to get her to look at a Mazda CX-50 but she's only ever owned GMs and didn't want to change things up.
Still better than the Nissan versa you rented a couple years ago

On every rental Chevy I’ve had, the forward collision warning is way too sensitive. Had it slam on the brakes in mountain roads a couple times

Do the timing chains fail prematurely or something? Any other issues? Am thinking of adding the Equinox to my list when I go car shopping this spring.
