  • Hey Guy!
    I hope you are all doing well! I am so sorry this video is going up a day late this week. We have been crazy busy this week and I just haven't had the time to finish a bigger project. But hopefully this next week will calm down enough for me to get finished!
    I hope you guys enjoy this short and sweet little, hack video :) I was so excited to finally be having some warm weather, that I couldn't help myself and I picked up some new ferns for this year!
    Hopefully these hacks help you out!
    I hope you all have amazing weeks and I'll see you guys in the next video.
    Laters!

    I had house sparrows nest in my fern last year. Their nest takes up no room and i watered around it. No bugs. When the season was over i put the ferns in the trash (October) and someone took them! They still looked good. My house sparrows are back this year and they are building away. I love hearing the male singing his little heart out on my weeping cherry tree!

    GREAT IDEA!!! I’m with you, I LOVE BIRDS!!! I keep a fountain running 24/7 for them and have even planted sunflowers as well as several grasses with seed heads. But here in the Phoenix desert they are accustomed to eating cactus for water and nutrition and even though I am supplying both - they still go for my succulents😮😢😮. I have been looking for a way to keep the birds out of my pots and this just might do it!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!

    Curious, would you be able to provide an update as to how this worked out? We are not bird haters either, but after we had an infestation of bird mites which ended up hospitalizing our child who was bitten (who has an immune disorder) we don’t want them nesting on our house, but we can’t hang plants because they have been building nests. Thanks!
    Also, ya, a quick glance at the clip and it did look like you were hitting them off a live animal. Lol

    Will be trying your tips. Wonder if small pine cones might work, also?? My gorgeous impatiens hanging basket is dead. Birds built nest immediately, so I didn't want to disturb by watering. Wish I had known how to prevent. I have a bunch of wd skewers in a kitchen drawer. DUH. Side note: When my now adult kids were little, I bgt teddy bear shaped graham cookies. My two little girls started squealing, yelling NO NO, "How can you eat the legs/arms off of the bears, Mommy??!!!!" I felt so badly like a real time murderer.

    When you find rubber snakes....just warn your guets before hand. We did that once....and i can tell you their reaction to seeing "snakes" in hanging baskets totally freaked them out, which i would probably do as well....enjoy your ferns.

    I've done this for years hoping that one day it would finally work. It did nothing at all. The birds simply picked and chewed at the wooden sticks until there was a big enough opening to nest. They even included the wood debris in building their nest. I gave up

    Find rubber snakes in the toy dept. I have used the snake in the dryer vent. But, one smart mama bird was brave enough to go in the vent. She had her babies to feed. Any mama would do the same thing when her babies were crying.

    😂😂😂😂😂😂 chopping off lizards legs! Dying!! I hope this works. I have a problem with robins building a nest underneath my porch every year. Problem is the crows know and they attack the babies! Awful!

  • @SoullessMermaidGames
    @SoullessMermaidGames Před 4 lety

    I bought a fern this time instead of flowers thinking it would be too bushy for birds to nest. 2 hours later I was wrong 🤦🏻‍♀️ I do like having nests and watching the baby birds but not in a plant I actually want lol because it just kills the plant after so long

    We will look back at this type of video and be aghast. No wonder wildlife is declining. If birds choose to nest in your plants it is illegal at least in UK to damage of destroy that nest. Instead of using garden as an extension of the living room treat it as it is- part of nature.

      This was done to PREVENT--not to hurt birds already nesting.
