One of my very favorite videos of Yamaguchi Sensei...
    00:00 Introduction
00:08 Teaching (Uke: Takayoshi Seino Sensei)
00:35 Teaching (Uke: Yasuyuki Suzuki Sensei)
01:15 Teaching (Uke: Hideo Numata Sensei)
    01:43 Teaching with Bokken
02:10 Teaching with Bokken and Uke
Every year I travel to Japan to train and give a demonstration when Doshu or Dojo-Cho visit our Dojo in Kamakura, Japan.
Until his passing in 1996, it was Yamaguchi Sensei who came and gave a class and demonstration at AKI's dojo at Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine in Kamakura for all members of Aikido Kenkyukai International.
It was not unusual to have a couple hundred people on the mat for his classes.
It's still impressive to watch my sempai take ukemi for him.
Enjoy the video and tell me in the comments section if you've ever trained in Japan. Or if you ever trained with Yamaguchi Sensei.
    Uke 1: Takayoshi Seino Sensei
    Uke 2: Yasu Suzuki Sensei
    Uke 3: Hideo Numata Sensei
    Uke 4: Takayoshi Seino Sensei

I used to live 10years in Japan & had practice Aikido for more than 40years, practicing with many Sensei...but according to what should be Martial Art (not a sport), Yamaguchi Sensei was one of few who did real Aikido! I practiced with him in Japan as well as France, where he did come at the request of Tissier Sensei...
    Natsukashii...
    Arigato for the video!❤

So glad you enjoyed the video. I had second thoughts about posting it, since it’s so short. So I was very glad to read your message.
Yamaguchi Sensei was truly special, wasn’t he?
I also lived in Japan for about 10 years. I was in Kamakura. Where were you?

Yamaguchi was a living legend. Too bad he had such terrible uke for this demo.

Haha… Oh, wow… Have you trained with those uke? And have you yourself taken ukemi from Yamaguchi Sensei?

@@liasuzukisvirtualdojo6240 No, but their cartoonish, spastic responses to very basic techniques, is absurd. You can see Sensei getting annoyed by it too. No, he has no "powerful energy". He's a tiny little man, that has never been in a "real" fight against a "real" fighter, and neither have you ;) Ukemi should be light as feather and flow like water, these area bunch of out of shape sycophants trying to suck up to the Boss. Just like you :)
