@@goobahead11 Digimon is the trope subverter of the mon genre. It did to mon what Gundam and Evangelion did to mecha, a total deconstruction and reconstruction of the genre. Fans of the straight mon genre will forever be irked at the perceived "sins" of subverting their beloved clichés.

digimon is its own thing entirely, not a version of pokemon at all and it deserves more respect then being called a version of pokemon in any way
