- I did a little video about this awesome car with an awesome engine sound, disabled the music for better engine sound quality, i really hope you like it, because i managed to do this race in a really clean way.

they can made any car look meaner or faster or anything, but this car is a legend, for anyone who played a nfs game and drive it, this car represents the real street racing feeling
This car was banned not because it was "too good", it was banned because Porsche complained that the engine found in the M3 GTR race car isn't found in the road-going model.
(BMW still continues this though, for example the V8 on the BMW Z4 GT3 isn't found on the road-going Z4s)
You're so right dude, 13 years and I still no saw any car better than this in other game of need for speed, that IS why it still in actual games but at least it's not the same, because they're not a GTR

Whenever I get the M3 in any racing game, especially nfs, it doesn’t look right if it doesn’t have the kit, the wing, the colors and the engine. To me the car only looks right in this game’s design, nothing else

Yea, I guess they are to afraid of BMW to ask them and rent them 2004-5 version of GTR for a spin. But they still could use recorded sound for MW and resed in Carbon, and beef it up with improved with a bit better version of this transmission whine, soundsystem for cars from MW2012(to be fair car sounds are better in this than in Rivals and 2015 which is just funny cuz they degrade with games quality xD on "current" gen) But no better to be cheap :/
It's because the GTR in 2015 is a normal inline V6, whereas this one in MW is V8 and is kinda rare in real life...

M3 E46 has I6, GTR had V8. and it was never accessible legaly on road except 10 pieces of Street GTR, rest is few racecars and 1000 engines, And that's not even a reason, they just should dragtheir stupid sory EA ass to BMW and rent one of GTRs from museum...

Fun fact, the sound was actually sampled from a TVR Cerbera V8. The sound file is even called tvr_cerb.
holy shit it really looks like it, 'cause i was looking at some videos of the P60N40 engine (the actual m3 gtr engine) and it sounded a whole lot more throaty, the TVR one sounds quite more like it in game, great find man!

This my favorite car in any racing game ever. From the beautiful wide spoiler to the subtle high pitched sound in the engine. This game is what started my obsession with bmws lol. Remember trying to recreate this car in every racing game i bought from that point on.

thetricker01 its nitrous is not exactly the most powerful in the game, and it could use a turbo..but the grip, acceleration and lookings of the car is just magnificent, it's really responsitive and it really can take you out of tight situations if driven well enough ...a lot of fun when using on the last pursuit :3

I literally looked this video up because I was nostalgic for when I used to play with this on a PS2, the M3 GTR was my favourite car, for looks and noise. That buzzing roar overtoned by the whine of the turbocharger, with a quick stutter at every gear change. LOVE IT!
it's really awesome, i still have it for my ps2 and my pc, oh and to clarify one little thingy, this car doesn't have a turbo or it would show on the bottom area of the tachometer (not to mention that whistle they make when you lift the throttle to pass a gear), the engine is sheer Naturally Aspirated POWAH ( xD ) with the whine of the straight cut gears of the transmission ;)
The whine is from straight cut gears. That's also why it sounds like it shifts quicker

that's because the engine shown in this game is from a TVR Cerbera, the actual P60B40 from the M3 GTR is a lot more "roary" the one in NFS Heat is actually properly well done i may say
Just hearing this car in this game is music to my ears, then they fucked it up in MW 2012 and I can't say 2015 because that car is an e46 street car (which has a straight six engine not a v8 which was in the race car) with a GTR Bodykit
And I forgot to mention the removal of the whine from the straight cut gears

Even after playing NFS 2015 with the deluxe car, I keep coming back to this. You really feel that something's amiss without this sound. You don't get the same feeling at all. Besides the handling of this car is soo much better compared to e46 in NFS 2015. I guess I like the feeling of using a superior car in the game, and this is the best one ever made in NFS series. Hopefully there will be a PC mod that can change its sound to this. Wonderful driving btw.
For a 6th generation game, this car sounds absolutely majestic especially after shifting up from 5th to 6th gear
words can't describe how amazing this car and its sound is! just a raw v8 sound and straight cut gears. it also handled like a dream, you could modify any car as much as you wanted but it would never be as refined as this m3 gtr. i had to compete it with a porsche cayman that i won from some blacklist guy and kept modifying it so much that i couldn't afford to get another car to win that race

NFS Underground 2 is my favourite Need for Speed and I almost use manual gearbox, but NFS Most Wanted is the greatest in another way. NFS Underground, Underground 2 and Most Wanted 2005 were all awesome in their own way, NFS Carbon was "okay" but I wonder what happened then. :/ I am glad that I found your channel, just wanted to say some words and thank you for your content, especially the NFS U2 engine sound mod, it's just wonderful. :)
