    Hi again Lisa & Tim, Just finished watching episode #41 and my initial question (having just read) has already been answered. I can't wait 'till you start uploading new vids. I came in at episode #38 a little while ago (after stumbling across it) and decided I desperately needed to watch from the the very start, and wow, what a journey so far !! The guts, determination and shear hard work that's gone into this project in all its adversaries you've both had to overcome - admiration doesn't even begin to describe.. As I've mentioned before in a previous comment, a cup of tea always conquers problems. We used to say in the army, "You can climb mountains and win battles after a good cup of tea." Well, you've climbed many mountains and won many battles and there'll probably be a few more along the way.. Best of fortune to you both and look forward to your next instalment. Martin.

      Thank you so, so much 😊 We are both pretty determined to see this project through, despite the challenges and the curveballs of life, we do enjoy it … most of the time! The results make up for the hardships. Thanks for watching all of our videos too! That is impressive! 😆 We will be releasing a new video next week. After the long gap, it will be good to be back.

    Keep up the good work guys, and good luck with the housing situation! It's been cold enough here in the south east, I don't envy you having to work in a draughty unheated workshop!

      Absolutely. It is an impossible situation and why we're building this thing in the first place. It looks most likely that we will be living in 'unconventional circumstances' as I absolutely refuse to hand over £1,000+ a month to another terrible landlord, so watch this space. More will be revealed very soon, I promise.

    I really want you to succeed,I drove a Tk for many years but why work in the cold a propane heater would cost very little to buy and run ,the cold won’t help you in old age ,what you do now forms the basis in later life.

    • @OldRopeSalvage
      @OldRopeSalvage  Před 11 měsíci

      Thank you 😊 This was last winter during a really cold snap and was a really tough time for us generally, but we’ve come a long way since then in many ways. We did initially think of different ways to keep heated, but any heat would be lost in an instant in our huge workshop, which is just a massive barn with a lot of holes! You might as well be outside, to be honest! In the end, we find thermals and hot drinks go a long way! Thanks for the concern. Hopefully we’ll survive long enough to finish the build! 👍🏻

    By this stage it may not be important? But you really should neutralize the acid dipped parts into a seperate vessel. Thereby no longer neutralising the acid dip. Luck!

      Thank you 😊 We had a few learning curves with the plating but got it perfected in the end. Must have plated several thousand pieces by now. Unbelievable how many nuts, bolts, washers etc came off the truck! 😮‍💨😅

      @@OldRopeSalvage Yes, I admire the success you were having. Those that escape assault from the various nasties on the road may last a long time. I got my rocker covers done many years ago. An oxidation occurred much sooner than I expected. After very few years they had rusted badly. It appears a protective coating on top again would have been a wise effort.

      Hey Nigel, yeah, we've been really tardy, sorry. We've had a bit of break from both the build and the videos while we sort out our new home situation. Our landlord wanted his house back (so rude!) and we've moved into a caravan, so it's been a bit of a crazy time of change for us. The good news is, we are getting settled, we are loving the caravan, and I am back editing some footage this month. Tim has been having a mega tidy up of the workshop and is ready to get back to it, so the 'plan' is to have everything back on track by the end of this month. Thanks loads for watching. We will be back to our 'normal' uploading routine very, very soon.

      Oh, bless you for thinking about us. It has been a bit of a bumpy ride but we're doing much better now, getting back on our feet, reorganising, and really looking forward to getting on with the truck build and getting lots of new videos out over the next few months. All the caravan stuff will be in there as well, so there will be a big general catch up on here soon!

      @@ashleyross3642 Lovely to hear from you, Ashley. Yep, it turns out that downsizing into a caravan is a LOT of work! Thankfully, we are almost on top of everything again now and just about ready to get back into the swing of things. I've been selling off my furniture from the workshop so Tim's been patiently waiting for everything to get gone before he starts sandblasting the front axle and the other leaf springs, but it will be full steam ahead again and lots to catch up on over the next few weeks. 😎🤟😊
