@George G. he’s still the toughest president ever though he was in a duel got shot an he didn’t even realize it until later when he was bleeding through his pants
This was a fun animation we made a year ago about the time Teddy Roosevelt got shot, but went on to give a 90 minute speech with the bullet still in him. Please share!
I also liked that one time he hiked through the South Dakota wilderness, hunting down some hooligans that stole his boat. When he found them, he brought all of them to the closest town and turned them over to the sheriff
Classic Roosevelt! Always an inspiration for men everywhere. Not to mention the great animation. Very humorous, entertaining, and most importantly informative.
TR’s entire life was like a montage of manly moments. Like the time some bandit’s stole his boat under the cover of night. Theodore built a second boat, chased the bandits down with a posse and then arrested them. It was in the dead of winter and well below freezing, so Roosevelt sent all his men back home and refused to handcuff the bandits (because they would likely suffer from frostbite if they couldn’t keep their hands warm). He walked them over 2 days, without sleeping and keeping a gun trained on them at all times, to make sure they received a proper trial. He kept himself awake by reading Tolstoy.
I'm sure many will see this as a ghastly and macabre attempt to get popular support. It speaks to my admiration of Colonel Roosevelt that his reaction and choice to finish the speech was entirely consistent with his life's work. He always preached the importance of doing difficult things and staying on task through adversity as an essential part of personal and national tirumph. That guy was sheer guts.
Please make more of these! How about Winston Churchill? In World War I, he was demoted after the disastrous Battle of Gallipoli that he was in charge of. He volunteered to fight on the front lines of the western front in the trenches until he earned back self pride and the respect of his peers...now that's a moment in manliness!
Foll Trace or even during the speech , before it , traveled to it , then gave it , and he had to agree to go To the hospital after Constantly being asled
Great video Mr. McKay, I throughly enjoyed the story and moving picture effects. I feel compelled to point out a major flaw. The "bullet" scene depicts a round flying toward TR with case and all. If you are not familiar with firearms, the round is comprised of a brass case filled with gunpowder, primer and a bullet. When the gun is fired the hammer strikes the primer that ignites the powder that pushes the bullet out of the barrel. The bullet is the only part to go down range.
Negativity? The truth isn't always pretty, and the comic book version of people you learn about in school tends to skip over any inglorious moments that may taint the story. That doesn't mean there is never anything good to recognize in people/events, I just believe it is a great injustice to spare people of some of the unsavory events that may be related to people or things in history because it may erase context, or blind us to wrongdoings that may affect future events.
I don't think one exists, I'm not an expert, just the motion graphics editor, but judging from all the pictures I saw, there never was a microphone present on stage. My guess is that he would shout? Maybe someone with more expertise can answer that.
He was definitely a hell of a man. Too bad he abused the authority of his office and set terrible precedents that allowed the executive branch to continually gather more power unto itself. Something that still burdens us to this day. He loved power and attention. His own son stated that "(h)e wanted to be the bride at every wedding, and the corpse at every funeral." Still though, purely in the sense of manliness, he was definitely to be admired.
Parliament? I think you're thinking of the wrong country. Consolidation of powers is antithetical to a system of checks and balances that prevents one person or group from gathering said power to themselves as the final arbiter of how the laws of the land shall be formed and regulated. A total consolidation of power is a monarchy, which if you knew American history you would know we're not too fond of the idea.
We had some badass Presidents back in the day.
samiamtheman 73 We have a badass one right now...Obama was garbage but Trump is a true American badass
TR is more badass than Trump but Jackson is more badass
Over the Top Rope if you call Trump a badass you have to be brain dead
You mean dodging a draft is badass? Wow let's all be badasses when war comes
Over the Top Rope trump is just delusional
Had it been Andrew Jackson, the bullet would have simply bounced off of any one of the other twenty bullets already in him.
"One man with courage makes a majority".
-attributed to President Andrew Jackson
Bradford Taylor From what I heard bullets, were like people when it came to Andrew Jackson. Fucking terrified of the man!
Lol hell naw
@George G. he’s still the toughest president ever though he was in a duel got shot an he didn’t even realize it until later when he was bleeding through his pants
Looks like he's no teddy bear.
He's a bull muse

Got shot and still gave a speech! And that, my friends, is why Theodore Roosevelt is the most badass US President of all time!
TR had a ridiculous wrap sheet for being a badass his entire life.
I also liked that one time he hiked through the South Dakota wilderness, hunting down some hooligans that stole his boat. When he found them, he brought all of them to the closest town and turned them over to the sheriff

Teddy Roosevelt was the most badass president we have ever had
Ryne Green false Andrew jackson
that's not even manly. THAT'S BADASS OF THE HIGHEST CALIBER!

Damn!!!
My inspiration! My hero! True definition of manliness.
John Schrank's gun fires the WHOLE bullet! That's 65% MORE bullet per bullet!
A Bullet can't stop the bull moose TR was the Real Deal what a Badass!
TR is my favourite President, I'm also glad that I carry his first name as my middle name. Great man. Great video!
Moments in Manliness: That Time Teddy Roosevelt Got Shot and Still Gave a Speech [VIDEO] buff.ly/1nUaESZ
Beast mode.
This was a good opportunity to win more votes, when he stays and finishes his speech. It takes balls to do it but it was worthy for him

Body turning black, yuck! Great job Brett

I couldn't see a biopic doing TR justice, but it'd be one where all the unbelievable things actually did happen.
When I heard this in my History class I was absolutely appalled. Good job man.
Presidents - They just don't make em' like they used to...
Teddy roosevelt shot in the middle of speech, but Obama stops speech to take selfies with buzzfeed. Lmao
Foll Trace or even during the speech , before it , traveled to it , then gave it , and he had to agree to go
To the hospital after
Constantly being asled
unfortunately, that is what wins the crowds in the 2010s.
So you think its rational that people should see someone getting shot as intriguing speculating event.
@@hbsupreme1499 Yep completely, that's exactly what I said.
The total course of history changed by this shot
wicked use of film burn and texture
Complete badass
Man's literally said "u rlly thought a bullet would stop me...."
Great video Mr. McKay, I throughly enjoyed the story and moving picture effects.

A BULLET CANT STOP THE BULL MOOSE
Would love to see more of these.
Negativity is not necessary! but I do agree with the "hell of a man" statement.
A BULLET CAN'T STOP THE BULL MOOSE!
T.R. will give W.C. the full deuce!

Theodore Roosevelt is such a badass.
That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!
I really hope you all do some more of these.
Roosevelt: “If an assassin were to shoot me, I’d simply not die. Like, RIP to Lincoln but I’m different.”
Do more of these
No one will ever be as badass as teddy
The assassin must have been so frustrated lol
I like your art , please do you use effects or templates ? I want to something like it :) thank you so much
Another thing Roosevelt about was excellent with anatomy and he knew that there was no serious damage since no blood came out when he coughed.
I take your f*ckin bullet! ala-Tony Montana!
Me: Lord what is the heaviest thing in the universe?
God: Theodore Roosevelt's balls
I don't think one exists, I'm not an expert, just the motion graphics editor, but judging from all the pictures I saw, there never was a microphone present on stage. My guess is that he would shout? Maybe someone with more expertise can answer that.
Hey Look That's Me
That’s a true badass
The speaker sounds like the one in Half life: Full Life Consequences.
NOW YOU CAN'T UNHEAR IT
I have my issues with TR but he was a beast
Unphased
Now, a president gets his ear clipped, runs away, and it's considered the pentacle of manliness. 🙄
Possibly the manliest president we ever had, he's one of my heroes.
Unstoppable
That's my fault! I'm not familiar with fire arms. haha good to know thanks.
Nice!!!
Who's baby trump compared with Roosevelt
I love teddy roose !!!i would so be in the bull moose party #legit
Masculinity as it finest :DDD what a man
Why is there a teddy bear but not a toy bull moose
Now this is a president!
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?
The man in your profile pic would be very upset with your admiration of Roosevelt.
I'm sorry, he LEFT THE BULLET THERE?
it would be more dangerous to remove the bullet than to keep it
hahaha, nice one :D
And he somehow lost the election.
Good thing there weren’t metal detectors back then
At least he was stopped from a third term! ;)
damn you! XD
Manly men do play video games... While wrestling a Kodiak, in winter, underwater, at night.

Sounds like a false flag from a man in love with his own legend.
Both men were tyrants.
no
USA USA USA
America, how did you go from presidents like this to electing complete buffoons to the white house. Tragic.
Who's here after Trump got shot
bleh. they were both macho but very flawed... Andrew Jackson was a jerk.

Still not as manly as Andrew Jackson.
Sure I can, who plays video games? That's not manly.
