- The purpose of this test is to check the Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) injector control voltage and current from an Engine Control Module (ECM).

Great video. I was just wondering about an attenuator, if it is necessary to use one when hooking up to the the power and also the ground side of injector circuit. Thanks alot
Thanks for information
What is the voltage and current that need to work gdi injector safely?
Hi Mazin, The voltages and current you expect to see vary a lot depending on the engine operating conditions. Also by make and model. Have a look in our guided tests (you can download the software at picoauto dot com / downloads). You are really using the scope waveforms to see whether a signal is there, how long the injectors are actuated, and whether there are any intermittent shorts to B- or B+ or any open circuits.
Current is probably most important if you want to see whether the injector is being driven. Probably you would expect to see around 5 - 10 Amps peak most of the time but, as above, you can't really say "these are the tolerances for a good/bad injector".
Your best approach if you suspect a fault with an individual injector is to compare with the others. If you see significant differences (when capturing the waveforms at exactly the same time) then you have a problem.
Hope that helps.

Thank you very much
I will do that
Yes very helpful thanks again
You didn't even talk about the waveforms. Which is which. How to analyze, etc.
Working at Honda are scan tool test them it's simple and 100% accurate
