    My parents built their cabin here in north central Florida back in 1984. They have both passed, unfortunately, and since I am quite sentimental I've kept and now live in their cabin. I have some areas of wood rot that I have been fretting over! I really appreciate how you present your video content, as you are not monotone, you get to the point, and are kinda funny.....😉
    Wish me luck 🤞🏼

    Good to know I just bought a log house needs fixing but sadly can’t find no one to fix my old cabin house here in Utah. For some reason companies don’t get back to me once they see pictures of my log house. It’s been 6 months and still trying to find someone to help with this cabin and it is even livable to. Who knows why companies don’t get back when they see pictures. I thought companies fixing cabins will be easy to find now I regret buying a small log house.

    You have answered all my ? S..Now I have one stupid question ..To fill a rotted dry beam which is now well supported do I mix the liquid wood with the wood epozy..I ask because qhen I filled the beam hole first time the liquid wood just oozed out. Now I just ordered the wood epox as I have the 2 quarts of liquid wood ready to mix.

    • @TheSawDustDude
      @TheSawDustDude  Před rokem +2

      No stupid questions. Brush on the epoxy small amounts, let it dry between coats. Then add your wood filler. If you do wood filler too thick, takes for ever to dry. That's why I use Bondo in hidden spots, it dries faster. Hope this helps out. 👍🍀🍺

      Most products that you use, temps need to be above 40 degrees. Realistically, Sometimes you just run out of good weather. But you can also care from the inside out. Caulk the checks and gaps on the inside too. This will help with your energy cost. Then jump on the outside next season. Good luck on your log home

    How would a new guy at log restoration charge a client for his services?

    • @TheSawDustDude
      @TheSawDustDude  Před rokem +2

      Paul, there are many variables when coming up with a dollar amount. A simple list to go by: materials (stain, brushes, cleaning supplies, gas for power washer, etc), equipment rental cost (if I need a lift) then a labor amount (this covers my help, my business cost so we can make a profit). Every contractor does it a little different and my suggestion would be to study up on this topic because you don't want to lose money on your jobs. But my big advice is this, when you come up with an estimate for doing a job, don't let that number freak you out and then start lowering your profit margin. My saying is: I couldn't afford me! This is the price! I hope this helps you, thanks for watching and please Subscribe!
