Hey Crystal,
So you were talking about not wanting to cut the hanging ribbon off those candy and ice cream cone ornaments. I’m pretty leery of doing that myself. BUT! I figured out a super easy way to incorporate large items like that (which are made out of foam) - and even if they’re not ornaments per se. What I do is I go get the wooden bbq skewers from dollar tree or Walmart or the grocery store (depending on the size you want), and I stick a skewer into the bottom of my foam item. That way I can stick them into my year round tree and have the item hold without falling out. I know this method is probably not new, but it’s a super easy way to modify an item and still be able to use it. I do exactly the same for when I put themed items into floral arrangements or plants. Just put it on a skewer. You don’t even need to use hot glue in the hole (depending on the weight of the item). It’s so easy, and really adds a lot more into your tree or your floral arrangements and garlands. Especially since most of the time those foam items are covered in glitter or fake snow which shines with the lights. If I was to do a display for the ice cream, I would cut off the hanging ribbons and stick them down into a plastic or tin pail with either paper shred, or Easter grass type of thing into foam. You can also get the foam bricks at the dollar store and use those in containers with your item that’s being modified. I’ve been able to do a year round themed tree in my entryway, as well as buckets of porch flowers and greenery for the different seasons this way. Right now they’ve all got those foam popsicles and glittery foam stars from hobby lobby and dollar tree. I also made some grad arrangements with the gold foam stars stuck into palms and fern using the skewers. They came out really cute. I’ve made cauldrons with fake candies popping out for our kids monster mash at school the same way also. A piece of foam in the bottom, and foam candies on sticks. Filled in with neon green deco mesh, and they turned out super cute. The grinch pillow is double sided. “Naughty and nice”
You can do a birthday tree for children with all those items, the macaroons and ice cream it will be so gorgeous and for those who are born at Christmas even better 🧑🎄❤️🎅🧡🌹✨️💅

Excited for this walkthrough! Thanks for all you do! With those ice cream and macaroon ornaments, I got the cute idea to hot glue some of the tiny christmas clay ornaments that hobby lobby has to them to make them more "Christmasy". You could do a christmas baked good or dessert display. So cute.

You are Alot like Me 😊. Some stuff can be "duped" and some stuff you just have to buy. Btw, did you notice that the 1st Snowman was missing it's nose? I've worked & supervised in Retail for many years and technically a store prefers to make a sell, even if they have to take a few dollars off, rather than expect you to pay a high price for it ❤ 20:57
