After one abdominal surgery, they had me fasting from Wed through Friday, day of surgery, then through Sunday after surgery. They gave me sea water broth and sickening sweet Italian ice. I phoned and ex bf telling him that I was so hungry and they were trying to kill me. He was a sweetheart and brought me some food, a teddy bear and a get well card. Thank God! They were starving me to death! Post-op nurse was a real bi----! I told her to please wake me up when it's time for my pain meds because I will need to pee when I wake up and it will be too painful to walk. I had those pumps on my legs, an IV, 9 in abdominal incision and an oxygen tube. She didn't do it! Nurse ratchet!😢 then they had me walking with no pain med! I hated her! 😂 I had no family.
It's amazing we survive this stuff!

I was all sit to relax and eat my fish sandwich and drink my orange Gatorade and you starting telling these stories and I was laughing so hard I almost spit my sandwich out and thought I was over laughing then you kept going….I had to wait to take a cool drink until I regained my composure!
Life can be funny a lot of time and I’m the same age as you so yes we do have a lot of stories to tell!
I think some Drs and Nurses forget we’re human and just treat us like a number and just shoot us through. Sometimes they are actually surprised when we speak up with an opinion and are adamant about it!

Your stories are the best 😊 I also admire how you stand up for yourself. You’re right, there’s nothing wrong with male nurses but if you’re a female and you don’t feel comfortable being treated in an intimate situation by a male nurse then you have every right to speak up and politely request a female nurse to help with a shower. The male nurse should have accepted your request politely instead of being annoyed. Being in a doctor’s office or hospital for any procedure can be stressful. You’re vulnerable and that can be scary. For anyone. If something doesn’t feel right or comfortable to you don’t be afraid to speak up. Learn from Lindy’s experience 👏

I had my own 'moment' after major surgery, including plumbing removal.
My niece said I had finally 'given birth' and I needed to name my 'child'
(a mass the surgeon equated to 'pulling out a Thanksgiving turkey') so,
I said I gave birth to Tom Turkey at 50yo. I was still a bit dopey, of course.
Giving birth to Tom certainly solved a lot of problems I had been having.

My doctor wanted me to get a hysterectomy due to a fibroid tumor. But a friend of mine, who’s a guy and a health coach, told me that if I completely gave up sugar, the tumor would shrink. So I gave up sugar for a year and the tumor did shrink to the point where it didn’t need to me monitored anymore (at the time, it had been monitored and getting bigger for 3 years). My doctor was amazed that the tumor resolved and I told him how it happened. Oh the look on his face. He just turned away. After that, he had another procedure that wanted to do (a uterine scrape due to a abnormal Papp that he insisted on doing while I was on my period) but, I did my research and explained why this was a bad idea. We fell out and I wouldn’t go back to him and then he retired and I got a new doctor.

YOU ARE THE SWEETIST AND I WAS 38 HAD THE HYSTERECTOMY AND WAS 106 LBS AND WENT TO148 IN 2 MONTHS. I COULD NEVER LOOSE A LB AFTER THAT TOO SO I JUST LOVED YOUR STORY. IT IS SOOOO TRUE. THEN AT 68 I GET CANCER, LYMPHOMA, PANCREAS AND THEN BONE CANCER...I AM THE ONLY PATIENT BALD BUT 250 LBS. I CAN'T EAT FROM CHEMO, HAVE A BAG ON MY SIDE " BUT I AM FAT". NO BELIEVES I AM SO ILL. Holy sh*t, what the he😮ll did they do to me! Nurse says to me calm down it’s a heat flash. Your lucky you won’t have to years of it just a few months. That first one was a doozy I was so unprepared for it.

You can get hurt going to a gym full of the right examples.Got to build. My start was 7 min a day for a week 15 minutes the 2nd week. Final was 45 minutes with walking poles 2 x a day

Omg, you are funny. As far as memory goes I thought is was just me that forgets like that. I've been beating myself up, like, I had a personal problem. I'm 60 and everytime I get out of the bathroom, I forget what the heck I was doing before I went in there. Once, I put the phone down so I could go pee and I forgot I was on the phone. They did not think it was as funny as I thought it was. I laughed so hard I almost spilled my tea. I identify with the surgery business. You gotta have a sense of humor to grow old.

That's how I feel now. I was 87 pounds 6 months ago and then my thyroid completely quit working now I'm 124. Don't get me wrong I know 124 is not a lot BUT FOR ME IT IS and I have no waist and I bought a waist trainer. My daughter flipped out. Says I don't need it. But I really HATE my body and I'm not a kid anymore. I'll never get my shape back 😢

Lindy, that guy was a jerk! I know first hand that several months of good work doesn't always change your body. I also did weights for 6 months with a friend. We could lift heavier and heavier weights, and ate as the plan recommended. But, even though our muscles got stronger, we didn't really change in weight or that distribution of the weight. It was very discouraging. I also have very bad short term memory.

Lol as a registered nurse I love this there are more and more male nurses today I work in maternity so don't see males as nurses just the doctors but today it's kinda scarry seeing these assaults on elderly and disabled people in nursing homes and hospitals I don't blame you be careful nothing wrong with that😂❤
Let me tell you what has happened to my body because there is a surprise ending you would not expect to hear. For starters I have scars on both knees from surgeries. Cellulite so bad that I look like I have been sitting on rocks for days. My thighs have sagged so much that it has caused flaps on the backs of my knees which match perfectly with my saggy apron stomach. My arms have also become flabby. The last few years the liver spots have begun to appear. I have scars on my stomach from a hysterectomy I had to have due to uterine cancer. The corners of my mouth have turned down, making me look like I frown all the time. The front of my hair has turned gray. And my weight has shot up to 215 pounds. Here is the surprise ending. People still tell me I am beautiful! How would this be possible? I ask myself the same thing. After pondering on this mystery, I think it is because my clothing hides some of my flaws even though I cant hide how big I am. I still have nice hair and eyes and nice boobs.
I am 24, and I forget something every time I leave my apartment! It's embarrassing. I always forget important things.
