in this video How to Repair Iron at Home. It is National Dream chinese electric steam iron, it was not heating up, because its thermostat switch was damaged. i demonstrated how to test power cable, dis-assembling, checking heating element, thermostat switch, steam system, spraying nozzle. how to test iron using multimeter. after watching this video you will be able to:-

Hello good morning, I am a follower of the channel and I am writing to explain the problem that happens to me in an ironing center, after performing the ohni measurement test in the plug to see the grounding, it gives me a value in one of the poles of the plug, in one yes and in the other no, (note: I measure in the plug, in the highest scale of ohns and with all the main components disconnected, and it gives a value of 1,100 and upwards, no it stops at a figure), however I have disassembled the plate to access the resistance, and in continuity both in one pole and the other the casing does not beep, if I touch both poles at the same time if it gives continuity, in the boiler filled with water exactly the same, it gives that result, and then what is happening? the result of the measurement in the plug, all the other measurements give, therefore? You make it look so simple. My problem at the moment is to disassemble my black and decker D3030 Model iron. I would like to repair it without destroying it trying to disassemble it. I have got to the point of removing a pair of wires going up to the handle, I guess that's for the light and another pair that goes into the bottom of the iron. My guess is that the thermostat wires are connected internally to the element and they only brought out one pair . From your explanation which is excellent, it seems the thermostat switch could be the problem and not the element. Where online do you go to get replacement parts? Thanks for your help.

normally 250v 10A 180 deg Celsius or 192 deg Celsius
So are the repairs pretty much same on all steam irons? I have Hamilton Beach model with self clean mode Has a steam button and a spray button
yes dear. if it is repaired nicely. then it works perfectly. but while opening or fitting any seal is not properly seated or damaged, then produces leak issues and fails to produce good steam

Nice work! These kind of repairs are simple but extremely useful. At my end of the world, it's impossible to get a brand new thermostat for an iron. I have to get it from a broken iron. I don't understand why parts for these devices are not imported and sold here. People really don't like throw away their broken stuff. Most of the people prefer to repair their broken devices no matter how cheap it is to buy a new one. Unfortunately, parts aren't available and repairing becomes an unavailable option. Where are you at right now, Pakistan or Jordan?
you are right dear. sometimes these spare parts unavailable, in that case we can explore online, but online shopping sometimes delayed delivery with custom duties.
most of the people want to repair there old appliances, for which there is no spare.

I really need your help with an annoying issue!
I have an atx powersupply 650w, It gives me 2.9vsb constant voltage without ripples
I checked and changed all the components of the flyback system and the feedback components such as optocoupler, capacitors , rectifier diodes at the vsb transformer output, some resistors and there is no error everything is fine but the voltage of the standby stays at 2.9v
Also the board is clean, there is no shorts and no burning anywhere on the input or output sections !
Could the problem be with the pwm IC or something else!?
Does the IC affect Vsb regulation ?
The IC code HS8108B there is no other IC on the feedback except the optocoupler!

what is voltage value on Purple Wire
Green Wire
if voltage on purple wire are less than 5 volt then
check RCD snubber in primary side of the flyback transformer for SB section.
then check 12 output (2nd output of standby transformer)
5v SB and 12 volt are low, then
try to remove ATX supervisor IC and check SB outputs
then check pulse transformer drive circuit

I read the voltage on the diodes output
The first voltage gives me 2.9v and the second is 8v and the voltages are constant without ripples!
The input circuit of the SB transformer I checked and changed all its components with new ones, I didn't find any problem with them!
-Is it safe my friend to remove the ic and check the voltage! ,isn't this possible causing damage to any section in the circuit?
-does the pwm section between the IC and the drive transformer (the middle one) affect the regulation of Vsb?

In your case, it seems the sb circuit primary side is working good
Problem in secondary of SB transformer
Now you have to disconnect 5v sb consumers
I.e secondary side pwm controller or supervisor ic
Disconnect pulse transformer drive circuit (8 volt section, it should above 12 volt. Remove both signal transistors and check output of 5vSB)
Disconnect vcc of supervisor ic and check 5v SB volt

I disconnected +5vsb from the ic section and something strange happened
It gave me a reading of 10v on the first and 26v on the second and the capacitors exploded!
Sir, how do we know that heating element is good?
connect multimeter across heating element and it give resistance on multimeter, and it have no continuity with chassis
then element is good
if element shows open circuit or gives continuity with chassis, that heating element will damaged

it depends on heating capacity
normally it is around 50 ohms
