    The best controls setup video I’ve seen! I moved bars to forward position to be centered over forks as suggested. Definitely turns better. Thanks!

    I really like this video and will be using the tips you shared once I complete the rebuild of my 01 CR250. I did have some trouble understanding the first point you were trying to make regarding the handlebars. Specifically being even with the forks

      the angle of the bars should be in line with the forks..

      if you get off your bike and look at it from the side the bars and forks would be at the same angle. does that help? 👍🏼👍🏼

      No play is mandatory. That thing should snap. Getting hung up is not a scenario you want. That hesitation in play could cause bad habits in throttling over time.

    I promise you, with your levees that level, after braking for a corner, you can't re-grip the throttle, so your elbow drops below the bar to your waist even, when you get on the gas. Goo think the tracks are freestyle smooth. But Chase Sexton crashed at the last 2022 national (on of his crashes), because he came out of a corner on the gas, elbow down, lost a bit of drive out of the corner (tire slippage), that caused his weight to go a bit forward, and hit the next little jump with his elbow at his waist. He crashed, and lost the championship. He would not have crashed with the proper bar/lever set up, as his elbow would have been up and ready for it, like a push up off the bars. Good thing you guys rid smooth tracks today, so you can get away with adopting freestyle set up bars and some road racing techniques.

    I don't hear any rational reasoning for your bar set up, but I understand it for freestyle, (more leg clearance.). Now I know all the corners on a MX track today are long, large radius berms that can be railed with a Harley Sportster, but if you ever "square off" a corner again on flat ground or off camber (a berm or a rut on a off camber surface is no longer off camber corner if you use the berm or rut.), you will see how much easier it is with the bars rolled back ,(like the age of reason of the 80's and early 90's,---before freestyle,--hint), to get your shoulders more over the bars for much better control, (you can push up and down on the grips with your shoulders closer to the bars, and elbows up.), and if you rotate your levers to point down again, (again to help keep your elbows up), you can re-grip the throttle a bit to full throttle, and not have your elbow drop below the bar. This was the cause of one crash of Chase Sexton at the last 450 national of 2022. His elbow was at his side when he hit the face of a small jump shortly after a left hand corner.
    Now I tried (after 18 years off a bike, got a 2019 YZ250 2-stroke), the high bar set up and had a real hard time feeling the corners, (and I notice, amateur racing has very very bad flat corner speed today.). Go back to reason, the age of reason of MX was the 80's,---and I promise, you will have more control of berm-less corners, quicker lap times and crash less. Chase too.

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA Před rokem

      And it is not just MX, (which I thought would be last, but it is happening all at the same time.), but every industry. We are entering an era of irrationality where we can't really figure things out, (school problem actually). That pretty much guarantees a pretty crappy future of citizen dysfunction,---and that is when the dictator takes charge.
      We better start thinking for ourselves, instead of following anything with no rational reasoning. The entire industry followed a freestyle set up, (it was also a generational change in the sport), and that is amazing in a sad sheep way. We are better than this.

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA Před rokem

      Oh, there is one other thing about rolling the bars back. The seats are taller today, (I lowered mine by 1". YZ250 way to damn tall, took .75 off the suspension too.), so it may seem like the bars are too close to the seat. Try it anyway, because when I sat on a book too, man, I could really get my shoulders over the bars for tight cornering. But even with my lowered seat, it is way easier to drop into a corner that when I tried the freestyle set up that everybody uses today.
      Bahhhh, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah. weare losing our ability to "reason", and that is not good. Get an engineering degree. That is the study of reality, (unless environmental engineering, an anti- American, anti-production/profit commie course), and it will help.

  • @EarthSurferUSA
    @EarthSurferUSA Před rokem

    Notice how even the pro racers drop their elbow to their waist, (many times), when they get on the gas? That is because their bar and lever set up is better suited for freestyle. Chase Sexton crashed on the last 2022 nation (one of them), because his elbow was at his waist before he hit the face of a smaller jump right after a corner. He would not have crashed, (and maybe won the championship_, if he did not use a free style set up, (like all the sheep in the industry today), and was able to re-grip the throttle for the corner exit, so his elbow did not drop below the high bar. You kids could have the freestyle set up. I guess it works OK for fast smooth tracks, but not for real off road riding. It is amazing, what human beings can get used to in mass, even if it sucks.

  • @EarthSurferUSA
    @EarthSurferUSA Před rokem

    It is a freestyle set up for trick clearance,---and the entire industry adopted it, because the new generation did not know any better. There is no rational reason, (and reason against it), to have your bars rotated forward for riding,---and all the amateur corner speed sucks like it never has before. I se the local Go-pros. You can't turn the bike with out a berm, because the bike is tall, and your handle bar/lever set up is a free style set up that does not let you have good control of the front end. But,---you can get sued to it,--for some reason.

      @@faisstlife God gave human being a brain unlike anything else living on the planet, so we can think and figure out reality, and figure out the nature of man to be free to think and achieve. God was proud of mankind when we formed the USA that let mane be free to think, achieve and prosper with the free market we created with our ambitions. No preachers will understand that,---and the Pope,---son,--is following communism. "Reason". God gave us that ability. Mythology---does not figure out reality. By the way, your bar set up is great for freestyle,---but sucks for riding. Go back to the age of reason of MX (the 80's), and see what they actually figured out. Adam Bennett. You are a bit of a prick, and a bum. Buy your own bike, and let Ronnie leave his past in his roost.
