This was the best ‘how to’ video I’ve seen for this task.
Man, really appreciate the video. Just finished doing this on the wife's car. A shop quoted me $1,500-$1,600 😬 A trip to AutoZone, $330, and a few hours of my time and the job is done. It was actually a lot easier than I though even after watching the vid, I wasn't sure about taking off the intake, but follow this video step -step and it was pretty easy. Thank you again!
@Thumper43230 did the dealer quote you that? Sheesh! 🙄. Big O' Tires quoted me $800 for the spark plug change on my 2013 V6. I'm up to $268 on the AutoZone app. That's with six spark plugs, six new Duralast ignition coils, dielectric grease. Also have to buy anti-seize lubricant for the threads. These shops are ridiculous. I was quoted $6K once for a bunch of things on another car I had. Car drove fine, they suggested changing out the steering rack, amongst other things 😅
@@David-zj3bpit wasn’t the dealer but a shop in my area that is known for working on nicer cars. Started out as a speciality shop for Porsches and now they work on all cars. So glad I know how to turn some wrenches myself. My son and I replaced the rack-n-pinion in his truck last year. Really wasn’t very difficult either.
Excellent tutorial... I'm an experienced mechanic, but hadn't done this particular task before. Your video and little insights made it a cake-walk! Thank you!
Just did my spark plugs with this video literally save me about 300 dollars 🙏🏼💪🏼 appreciate the video
A shop said for them to change two coils and 2 spark plugs and intake plenum gasket was going to be $1,349.65 I'm watching your video and I'm doing this myself autozone wants $303 for does parts but I found them in my boys auto part shop for $164 so wish me luck
You got this. It’s looks more intimidating than it really is.
👍👍💪 than u very much for the video & your time, very educational .!!
Just saw your other video I’m about to do my oil cooler. Might as well do the plugs while it’s all off Save some time
Same! How did it go?
@@orlandovega6958 I got it done. Everything went smooth. It did come with screws that had a sleeve on it that didn’t fit in the hole so I got some without the sleeve on it at the car dealer supply shop.
Thank you bro soooooo much I did my Chrysler 300
Great walk through. I got my spark plugs changed however I’m getting a check engine light. Any tips?
Also did my thermostat with you. Fixed my overheating issue!
Thank you so much for the video! My charger is running like new! Only problem are those damn hose clips!
perfect tutorial thank you
Great video man 💯
God Bless you I try to save some money also your video shows everything I need to ask you do I need to disconnect the battery before I change the spark plugs? Really appreciate if you can let me know thank you 🙏
Yes I would disconnect the negative side just to be safe that way you don’t accidentally arch anything.
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE thank you
Great video - thanks
Couldn’t get the bracket off stud was messing the nut and washer help?
Help
Thanks
You recommend doing this outside I dont hsve a garage and they quoted me 800 for job. They have a garage and indont have a torque wrench.
You will have no problem doing this outside as for the torque wrench it is not required either just get the plugs snug you you’ll be good.
I grew up in a Chrysler products family and personally owned several when it was an American owned company, but I wouldn't now.
Ever since the Germans under Daimler Then Fiat under the Italian ownership the quality and reliability of their cars and trucks has declined and this video is a perfect example.
Notice all the cheap plastic clips that harden from the engine heat and become brittle and break when you try to disconnect them.
Notice all the garbage that must be disconnected from a V-6 rear drive north/south, not transverse mounted engine that should be easy to service spark plugs.
Add in the junky German made ZF 8-speed automatic that is constantly searching for gears, hard to service and expensive special ATF fluid along with having to buy a new pan with built in magnets and filter each time you service it.
And let us not forget it has no dipstick and you must get under the car as it is running to check the fluid level, a dangerous hazard.
Mark my word, Chrysler, now owned by a European auto conglomerate, Stellantis will be no more in a few years due to the ineptitude of European management that knows nothing about the American market.
Well said, couldn’t agree with you more. This is why many automakers under the stellantis name are always on the top 10 worst vehicles every year.
Thanks!
I appreciate the super thanks. 🙏
Help
Hey did you disconnect the battery and which terminal did you disconnect ,Because I'm doing my car this week has a slight miss on cylinder#1 so figured let me just do a complete tune up.
I was being lazy and did not since the battery is in the trunk and my daughter had a bunch of stuff back there. But it’s always good practice to disconnect that way you don’t chance arching anything. You can just disconnect the negative terminal and you’ll be fine.
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE Thank you sir you made the 3 video look so easy.Iam going to tackle the tuneup this week .👍
What happens if you don't place the plastic foam back over the plugs and coil pack?
Nothing you may just notice a little more noise under the hood it’s just a sound insulator.
I have no check engine but these last two days when I hit the gas the car shakes a bit can it be the spark plugs ?not on the gears only when I press the gas 130k miles haven’t replaced spark plugs I got it at 90k
I looked at mine and I have oil in there 😢
My car aint starting anymore now
Did it ever start? 🧐
@@marlosan4486 yes was something as lil as pressing the gas pedal when u turn it on
