Hints about Shanks having a twin brother are Oda didnt show Shanks scar and arms when he met the Gorosei, Whitebeard said to Shanks that his FACE reminds him of the guy who wounded him and the twin could actually be the one who stopped Kaido from joining the Marineford and thats why Shanks looked so fresh when he stopped the war. And if thats true it means his twin is strong enough to heavily wound a prime Whitebeard and to stop Kaido and King, which is kinda badass. I'd like to hear more hints about the twin if anyone has some!
I think you're right. Because that would line up with certain Elder bloodlines (maybe all of em, but at least a few) being nicknamed God's Knights. When they're going to battle. Meaning Shanks was meant to be a God Knight. Because it's in his bloodline, but he was spared while his twin wasn't. His scar was probably left by either his father or another Celestial Dragon. I'm guessing when it became clear they would lose Shank they were planning on killing him. When Garp and Rogers saw him as important and worth saving.
@@johnnnyjr8936 Blackbeard gave Shanks that scar and I'm pretty sure now Garling was the one who wounded Whitebeard (I made the original comment 6 months ago). I still feel like it would be good if the God Knights had a younger prospect who is in line to eventualy replace Garling and Shanks twin would fit that role great. Or maybe there's no twin and Shanks himself is destined to fill that role.
Zoro would also be a Binks parallel as he is Luffy’s ”Vice Captain”, uses a sword and drinks a lot🍶
Small tangent. I feel like no one ever talks about how the Moria seraphim could be named S-Bat. He's definitely more associated with bats than geckos, and the Japanese word for bat, komori, is in his name (gecKO MORIa).

I just released my own theory relating to that same scene of Roger’s whispering to Shanks, but I do love this concept as well. Having Shanks be a potential God’s Knight candidate who was saved at birth really embodies the concept of “no child bears the sins of their father”. Roger didn’t care who the child was, but knew his freedom was the most important thing
Or perhaps Shanks has the shadow/soul/will of Joyboy's first Mate. Maybe this is why he favors Luffy so much, because he reminds him of his captain from 800 years ago...he is free to do as he likes, but can't go against Imu until he is freed by his captain.
I remember us talking about this, but man you really pulled this together quick. It all lines up really well. Great theory. This is the first Shanks theory that seems to make sense without it being too heavily tropey, too evil, or too simple.
I totally agree - a lot of times the idea seems too straightforward, or too cliche, the right mix is hard to find with Shanks. But him being a "nightmare luffy" type guy but with insanely strong shadows would be a perfect mix, especially with Blackbeard being involved with the dark fruit. Does his darkness suck in Shanks extra shadow so he's weaker? :O

Great video! Imu walking past all of the other doors in the freezer shocked me a lot when you mentioned it. Completely forgot imu skipped those. Imu’s parallel to Moria is mind boggling if The 9 god knights are kept in those freezers. These God Knights are going to cause issues for crews and their goals.
If Shanks is fighting against a shadow or will it makes sense why he lost his arm. The will/shadow within him wanted luffy to die, and in that brief moment when the lord of the sea attacked luffy, shanks was frozen/paralized forcing him to give up his arm as a last resort to protect Luffy.

Dak, your videos are just blazing bonfires of good One Piece theorizing and speculations. For all the times you talk about 'bringing the heat' and 'cooking' in your stream vids, I thought that might be an appropriate metaphor!
Ever since seeing Parvision's shadow video it seems to me like not having Moria's OP fruit come into play in some fashion outside of Thriller Bark would be next to impossible, and the idea that Im has a superior version (like Akainu's Magma > Ace's Flame) to Moria would be a way to make that happen.
I don't have much to add, but I can't help but notice that in a chapter that's filled with stuff about the Reverie, reviewing things we've been wondering about for years now, a single panel has gotten the attention of the whole community: the one with both Dragon and "Shanks" in it. People used to go nuts if either of these guys showed up once every few years, but since they're around more often now to top that maybe having them in the same panel is needed! Whether or not that's the case, it seems to have worked!
Yo this is so good! I love the idea of Roger taking in a baby God Knight because, like when he's telling Garp about Ace, they both seem to agree that 'no child bears sin'.
The consequences of controlling others (or being controlled yourself) either through oppression and censorship or the much more literal methods using devil fruits etc, is a huge recurring theme in One Piece. That's why Luffy embodying freedom (as a verb and not just an adjective) is so crucial to his role as the protagonist, and when you think about it the two characters he really learned the lesson of the true importance of freedom from early on were Shanks and Sabo. With Sabo he was a former noble who was controlled by his family as a child before getting away and having an unfortunate run in with Celestial Dragons which made him choose to fight the world government, so if Shanks is a parallel or inversion of him who got taken away from the Celestial Dragons as a child but later had a run in with his family which forced him to fight for the world government, that would be incredible.
I've always loved the idea that the entirety of the God Knights is made up of the Figarland family. Like, their role in society on Mariejois is to be this judicial/execution squad. And Garling might be the Supreme Commander not just because he rose through the ranks of the God's Knights but because he is also the patriarch of the family. That the other eight knights are his wife, younger siblings, children, and/or niblings (collective noun for nieces and nephews) and he is the head of the family.

I just had a thought. What if the whole God Valley incident and Rocks are being covered up because Rocks killed one of the former Gorosei, and that's why one of the Gorosei is much younger than the rest. Something like that would need to be erased from history as the idea of killing one of the five elders would be something that they would not want anyone knowing because it would make them look vulnerable.
The theory about the 9 god knights being joy boy crew is spectacular. Because joyboy was the god, sun god.

I know for sure that Dragon is xebecs biological son and after defeating and killing xebec, garp pitied dragon and he's cursed name and took him in as a son in secret when dragon was 17 years of age, dragon fell in love with garps daughter and they had a child called monkey D luffy, I just want to add that in Japan, it is custom that when a man from a lower social class marries a woman of higher social standing, he takes her last name so that is how dragon came to be know as Monkey D Dragon but it also means that luffies real name is Monkey Rocks D Luffy.
The god valley incident was xebec kidnapping many world nobles as hostages to be bargained for ransom or to use as a form of exchange for something he wanted, shanks just happened to be amongst these hostages, perhaps he was kidnapped alongside his mother who passed away in this incident and she hid him inside a pirate chest in the commotion of battle that was taking place.
Rocks D xebec targeted celestial dragons and the world nobles for a reason to gain some form of information, perhaps the last piece he believed was being held by the world nobles to complete the one piece, and fulfil the prophecy, we know the government has tried to cover up this incident due to xebec dealing in forbidden knowledge that the government considered taboo, in fact it was so dangerous that the island of god valley has been wiped out entirely and no longer exists, this obviously involved either a buster call or it was wiped out just like the island kingdom of Lulusia using a weapon of mass destruction.
The forbidden knowledge that xebec was after was about Ancient Weapons of mass destruction, Pluton, Poseidon, and Uranus but I believe he was targeting Pluton, if we look at what whitebeard said to sengoku, that as soon as someone finds that great treasure, the entire world will be turned upside down, we can assume that these pieces that make up this ancient weapon when put together make this into one piece or allow the one piece to come about, the most powerful weapon to combat the tyranny of the world government.
Gol D roger was waiting for a man who will turn the world upside down and carry on his will and all the will of the Ds, this prophecy was passed down from ancient times about the return of joyboy who we understand now that due to eating the nika nika fruit has allowed the spirit of joyboy to posses luffy but that's not all.
Luffy also posses another frightening power known as Uranus (planet Uranus resembles a straw-hat), the power to turn foes and people into allies willing to sacrifice their lives for his ideals. We’ve seen this multiple times in the past, and it culminated itself in the formation of the Grand Fleet in Dressrosa, the world government has held on to joy boys straw-hat hoping to discover and wield this power but they do not know how to gain possession of it nor how to wield it, alongside the power of Poseidon/shirahoshi controlling the sea monsters and pluton the most powerful airship that flies which I believe is currently in Imu sama possession makes the one piece treasure and the power luffy will use to bring down the world government.
Luffy with the power of Uranus and poseidon will rally a massive force against Mary geoise and the world government to seize the airship pluton just like his grandfather xebec tried to do many years ago, and take it away from from imu sama, but unlike his grandfather luffy will not use underhanded tricks or harm the innocent to achieve this goal, this battle and specifically pluton under the control of imu sama with his battle against luffy will lead to the destruction of mary geoise, fishman island and that part of the red line all simultaneously creating all blue where the North Blue, South Blue, East Blue, and West Blue oceans all meet to reveal the one piece.
After the victory luffy becomes known as the new pirate king and he will finally reveal his real dream that has been hidden from the fan base
That he always wanted to travel to the moon and have a space adventure and travel the cosmos and find and discover new places in the far reaches of space, it was the original joyboys dream and the technologically advanced ancient kingdom's reason for creating pluton, it passed down and became gol d rogers dream and was passed down to luffy, everyone at first laughed at this childish dream and thought it was impossible, but now thanks to the airship pluton he can make it a reality and finally fulfil the will of D.

Wrt the silhouette, I can't help but think it's Shanks' deadbeat dad, the chief Holy Knight.
I think his relationship with his dad and Roger will parallel that of Sanji's with Judge and Zeff. Shanks' feelings could also be similar to Ace's about Whitebeard (the dad who stepped up) and Roger.
I want to see a pannel where Shanks tells him "Roger is my only father."

I love this theory. What I want to know next is -- how does Dragon know of the God's Knights? If they're a super elite crew meant to be "released" only for the most extreme of situations (I'm guessing they should only be "defrosted" for short periods of time, since the goal is to conserve high-performing bodies) then surely not many people should be aware of their existence.

This theory justifies so much with Shanks' character it's actually great. Why he didn't eat the Gomu Gomu No Mi (Hito Hito no Mi: Model Sun God Nika) and instead was holding onto it, possibly looking for someone to give it to that he could trust the future with. Why he doesn't do anything with his missing arm despite there being options available, he gave away his best arm and refuses to get it back as a minor protest but it's not so severe that the Gorosei won't have an audience with him. Speaking of which it explains why he could get a hearing with the Gorosei in the first place and it explains why he hasn't got the One Piece before Luffy was ready. This just became headcanon for me until proven otherwise LOL

This is the first theory I've heard that makes an antagonist Shanks twist make sense given the crying scene with Roger.
Maybe the "higher ups" wanted Morias fruit for Captain John to get the Rocks Pirates back together. So Kaido and Big Mom are still alive...And what ever happend to Wang Zhe at Rocky Port? Did he die? Did the Marines take him? Did Blackbeard absorb him and saving him as a sacrifice to obtain a 3rd df ability? That'd be crazy If that was Blackbeards awakening

Not only Shanks, the whole 'Holy Knights' silhouette looks like the Red Haired Pirates.
This is an insane theory and I mean it in a good way. It could very well explain a lot of things involving the freezer and how it could perfectly tie the void century into the current time in a literal sense. The ultimate twist that the straw hats ultimate enemies being Joyboy's original crew or something akin to this would be mind boggling. And I have some thoughts of how it could be taken even further. What if it works more akin to like sleeper agent kind of thing with the hosts not even knowing they have said shadow in them and think back to the people with ring eyes. What if that is signifying they have one of said shadows within them and Imu through a contract most likely can use some form of trigger to awaken them, granted not every member could be a sleeper agent hence the reveal we got from chap 1086. And the contract got me thinking back to sugar who does something very similar likely hinting and paralling what Imu likely will be, a young or teen girl. All of this is just possible suggestions, mind.

so, since Rocks was introduced to us, I always thought that he was Shank's father (hence the quote from whitebearb when they met on his ship, about how his scars that a certain man left him, hurt him when he sees shank's face). In this case, using your theory that the god's king are the best figthers of their time, that are kept frozen and only used in certain cases, i would find it really cool if the shanks' like shadow that we are seeing and that is almost too obvious to be shanks, would be his father, the legendary pirate Rocks D Xebec. Moreover the death of Xebec was never confirmed, and Sengoku was really avasive when talking about it. We know that he was defeated, but never killed, plus I don't really see either Garp or Roger doing such a thing as killing an enemy (like luffy who only beats them). therefore his body could have been kept by the WG and his spirit could have been altered using either a devil fruit's ability or some sort of technological device.

If anything I think Binks if he was really the right hand man to his captain Joyboy is being saved by Imu as a last resort piece along with Rocks and Rogers corpses! She/he maybe waiting for the final piece to die before having all four as backup if whoever the 9 Holy Knights are goes down in the final arc. Now who would be the last piece? I believe it was originally Rayleigh but he hasn't crocked yet but also used his influence as his title of Dark King to avoid what I'm talking about.
