They could have mentioned what the scan is called: It's the PSMA (Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen) Pet Scan. I happen to know this as I had one in Dec of 22.

Is it the Axumin or the Pylarify scan they are talking about, or something else? Breathless story about a new scan and they neglect to name it. Ridiculous.

@@Actaeon2nd I'm not a medical expert. My scan was done using Pylarify. It appears there are now at least a couple of approved imaging agents for the PSMA-PET/CT.

What’s it called? PET Scan? Odd that they do such an important story and never tell you what it’s called.

I think it's the F-18 or Ga-68 PSMA PET they're referring to. I'm scratching my head myself as to why they didn't mention it...

Spa shot up and I had this prostrate scan to determine which kind of cancer first and then to know where the cancer is located in the prostrate so during the biopsy he knew where to look and to the extent it exist in my prostrate. PSAT has decreased from 6.5 to 3.5 which indicates that it is not getting worse. In my opinion the scan is worth all the money and effort because I am more sure of the results that treatment offers even later on as I now have an excellent documentary of the past to compare to.

PSA was on the rise now at 3.28. I'm 57. Got an MRI that showed a lesion they PI-RADS scored at 4 ("high suspicion"). Next going to get a biopsy. I'm so overwhelmed not only with the high high likelyhood of cancer and getting the biopsy but with the number of choices if it is cancer. What if I make the wrong choice. terrified.

Hi PI RADs can mean 40 percent are inflammation not cancer. So you need biopsy. Now high Psa and a clean mri what? Still do a blind biopsy. All people I know are fine years later after early detection and removal or radiation.
