New Prostate Cancer Scan ‘Is Going To Be Life-Saving,’ Doctor Says
They could have mentioned what the scan is called: It's the PSMA (Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen) Pet Scan. I happen to know this as I had one in Dec of 22.
Is it the Axumin or the Pylarify scan they are talking about, or something else? Breathless story about a new scan and they neglect to name it. Ridiculous.
@@Actaeon2nd I'm not a medical expert. My scan was done using Pylarify. It appears there are now at least a couple of approved imaging agents for the PSMA-PET/CT.
Please keep my husband in your thoughts for survival. I need my best friend.
Will pray for his speedy recovery. I lost my father to prostate cancer about a year ago.
This actually saved my life -)
What’s it called? PET Scan? Odd that they do such an important story and never tell you what it’s called.
Exactly my comment too. Sigh...even just a few keywords so we could read further... unbelievable.
I think it's the F-18 or Ga-68 PSMA PET they're referring to. I'm scratching my head myself as to why they didn't mention it...
Spa shot up and I had this prostrate scan to determine which kind of cancer first and then to know where the cancer is located in the prostrate so during the biopsy he knew where to look and to the extent it exist in my prostrate. PSAT has decreased from 6.5 to 3.5 which indicates that it is not getting worse. In my opinion the scan is worth all the money and effort because I am more sure of the results that treatment offers even later on as I now have an excellent documentary of the past to compare to.
Clarity is using Cu64 and Cu67. It's impressive.
They are probably talking about PSMA scan
If you want additional info on psma pet and prostate cancer in general, go to pcri on youtube. cutting edge technology and treatments are regularly discussed. Great resource.
Is this available in California?
Is it out of pocket or is it accepted by insurance?
What is the name of this scan????
Wow. Get better and God bless this scan .
The funder😂
I had this test this month
I had Cyberknife 10 years ago
Psa last reading jumped from .4 to . 853
Results showed no spread
Having follow up MRI to look at 1 lymph node
PSA was on the rise now at 3.28. I'm 57. Got an MRI that showed a lesion they PI-RADS scored at 4 ("high suspicion"). Next going to get a biopsy. I'm so overwhelmed not only with the high high likelyhood of cancer and getting the biopsy but with the number of choices if it is cancer. What if I make the wrong choice. terrified.
I just got a pi-rads 4 dont have a follow up for another few weeks. What happened with you
@@blakeposter7496 Thanks for reply. Dr missed the target spot on the biopsy. 😡Getting specialized active MRI biopsy in a few months. which is a high precision biopsy that specifically targets the lesion. you getting a biopsy?
@@blakeposter7496 Getting old sucks.
@@andyt1313 curious do you have to wait a few months or are you in no hurry?
@@blakeposter7496 need to give prostate plenty of time to heal before next biopsy.
4 people on the show discuss the new scan but don’t name what the scan is? What’s the name?
I am with you. I assume it is a PSMA PET scan. Strange they didn't give the name.
PSMA PET scan
There is a relationship between ulcerative colitis and PC. The NIH has the study.
Why is the name of this new scan or at least some keywords not mentioned?
WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE SCAN ?
PSMA PET scan.
Just be careful, plenty of overservicing still going on.
There’s big money in this business.
TODAY SHOW screws up royally. Doesn't give name of "life-saving" scan.
I've been denied this scan by my Insurance three times. My PSA continues to rise so they tell me. My Dr. wants me to have this scan.
What's this scan called? Good luck with your progress :(
I think insurance wants to confirm that it is cancer first thru perhaps biopsy as this test is expensive
Hi PI RADs can mean 40 percent are inflammation not cancer. So you need biopsy. Now high Psa and a clean mri what? Still do a blind biopsy. All people I know are fine years later after early detection and removal or radiation.
They don't name the technology. Terrible reporting!
Name of scan: PET. Drug: maybe Lu-177 PSMA Pluvicto
PSMA PET
Probably should if hhmm 🤫🤔🤔😒this doesn't ease my fear 😔 😕 I'm so afraid but I've given to God I be glad when I do this test and it's over with
How much is the scan out of pocket. My insurance will not psy for it. Only for the CT soft tissues scan and the skeleton imaging scan, those are useless😮
Dr Ogoh on CZcams thought me that is all about patients and the right person, May God continue to bless You sir for the permanent cure I received for my illness 💛
What crap journalists? They didn't even ask what the scanner is or how it works. What a useless article that was.
Fun
The 1 in 8 statistic is for Caucasian males. For reasons still to be determined, the statistics for men of African origin - it is a mind-boggling 1 in 4.
Of course they asked about use for breast cancer! Women first again!
My thought also. Men, and boys are second class citizens. Attention, and Money is only given to a concern, only if women are involved.
Meeting Dr gboya on CZcams has really been one of the best day of my life after years of suffering I have been finally cured
from prostate cancer thanks doc God bless you doc.
#drgboya .
