Sorry to hear things have been rough lately, hopefully things are evening out for you, It's hard to watch any of the fleet get sold but at least it's going to someone who's going to use it. Hope the mug helps with an influx of monetary fluidity because it sounds like almost all your cars seem to need some form of suspension support.

Corvette Brake pads may need replacing with GM OEM, as aftermarket 'racing' ones need a lot of heating to get working well. OEM pads work best for day to day.
You’re right! But even during autocross the brakes just never work. It’s kinda terrifying!

Wow, I'm actually genuinely surprised that it wasn't the FreeMW that sold, but in hindsight, yeah this makes the most sense. Which is great, because I really like the FreeMW and am looking forward to more content involving it! Sorry to hear about the rough patch you were going through, Elliott. Family always comes first, but those emergencies really but a clamp down on the ol' wallet, there. Hoping that it's all behind you now and the remainder of this year, as well as 2023 treat you better!

Happy for you that you're helping out production with Car Trek! It's gotten better and better each Series they've released, plus you've been a busy man at those car auctions with those beautiful vehicles you got to look at and drive, and subsequently share with us.
Sad to see that Merc go, it was so cool, and looking forward to the Volvo (hopefully) finally being all sorted.

While I'm like "he's a car guy figuring it out as he goes" and that's what I love about your channel. I hope others feel the same. So sorry for all that's gone on recently in your personal life. Some things are never easy to go through. All we can do is mush on and go with the flow, but never forget our experiences.

Danies, unfortunately its cheaper to do travel videos than a lot of these fixes. But I will do more home cooked stuff for sure.

Throw a 600$ Maco paint job on it ( some crazy bright colour like Miami blue or something) get humble old 17”M sport wheels maybe an exhaust and you got free-mw content ! It would be really nice to watch that car come back to star life 😇

Hey Elliot as someone who works on c4’s a lot. One thing I know is their brakes suck. I can’t lock mine up either after completely rebuilding my brake system. I found switching to the power stop drilled and slotted rotors and hawk brake pads from corvette central really helped (short of switching to brembos and getting new wheels)
Well, good to hear its not just me. I just have driven both of my uncle's earlier C4's and his brakes will throw you through the windshield. Even in an autocross setting, his brakes are noticeably better than mine. I'll have to look into drilled and slotted rotors and some different hawk pads.
@@ElliottAlvis My personal one is an 89 with the 12 inch rotors. Wonder if he has the upgraded 13 inch ones from factory, if he modified it in anyway, or doesn’t have the abs pump. I’m curious if there’s anything else I can do to get better braking without switching calipers

Elliot, I owned a 86 C4… on the way home when I took delivery of her, I braked and, and, and ….. nothing. I called Summit Racing and ordered the big brake kit all around from Willwood…. Waited 3 month for it to come, installed and never looked back. I also opted for 345ers in the rear LOL

I'll trade you my auto 528i wagon for your manual sedan. Mechanically sorted, just took it on a 700 mile road trip. New rear subframe/diff bushings and shocks. Trans rebuilt 30k miles ago
