We need to extend K Allen
Unless bears swap out billings ...thats a easy pass....Why would the bears give up on the young Dt's...Dexter Pickens Randoff ...Lets not forget Hybrid Walker...The defense needs a Proven pass rusher at the DE position....
I like Allen also because he plays full seasons, doesn't miss games. Other D-line candidates are coming off injuries, makes me nervous.

I like Allen as a worthy addition.
For a potential '25 2nd and a '26 5th round, could be a decent deal.
Rather keep our 2nd round picks
@brockadkins949 Ultimately, so would I, but if the bears are going to make that offer, it could be a lot worse.. remember Pace's trades. Plus there may be options further down the lune where the bears can recoup or even add to their '25 haul

Hell No!! Next years draft is loaded with D-line talent. This is a 2-4 year type thing, not worth a second round pick.

like you said we have a number one and two second rounders in 2025 could you imagine the possibilities of who we could draft under the defensive line? Why not take her chances this year with what we have and take it from there !

I see it both ways. I love getting a veteran to provide pass rush to alleviate pressure on Sweat while these young guys get ready to shoulder the load… they can rotate in and our defense can be “complete” immediately.
We can handle his cap hit at his present contract… he’s still in his prime as well.
But also - a second rounder is a precious asset! You are correct and I agree. We aren’t ready to give up on Gerv and Pickens.
So maybe the ideal is what I spoke through: start out with what we have and if it’s not working (the young guys aren’t producing)… pull the trigger on the trade at the deadline similar to the Sweat deal last year.
Whatcha think - best of both worlds?

I appreciate the work you put into this, Shawn. Hard Pass though. We have a higher ceiling guy already on the roster in Big Gerv. I don't want Allen because he will take reps away from Sack Pickens and Big Gerv.

No way! He is an Descending player not Ascending close to 30..no way unless Washington picks up some money
This is a trade I wouldn't do because he's older nothing against his production just need to stay the course with young talent and wait until next years draft that is loaded with defensive linemen so i'm out on this idea

Montez Sweat is a good player, just not a great one. A guy with FREAKISH athletic ability that shows up far to infrequently.
