Karl has always been an amazing person, skateboarder and just all around positive influence on the world. Blessed to have known him since 1989. He’s a legend.
Genuinely should get him on the podcast
The fact you are a skate fan makes me open minded even when the internet goes off about you.
@@bartomiejkotlicki7920he's already been on...
Andrew Huberman is a pseudoscience grifter who gives faulty medical information to the masses while also maintaining close ties to alt-right fascists and Qanon/MAGA types like little man Jocko, Rogan, and J. Peterson, etc. Real medical professionals see Hubermans grift from a mile away. Disgraceful.
Santa Barbara skater est 88 telling you hell yeah!
Nick's Dad is the man for noticing Karl could've gone down the wrong path and invited him in to a better life! So rad!
The stories of him getting hyped for others, regardless of ability, are absolutely true. I remember being 12 years old at Pier 7 and doing a very “little kid” manual trick. Karl yelled out and clapped when I landed it. It made me so hyped. It’s a little gesture, but has a huge impact on others, especially when we’re young. His skating, style, and attitude are what make him a legend.
Kickflip manny?
@@normanl.6891 haha good guess! Nose manny shove it (behind you of course 😂) to manny. My go to “tech” maneuver as a 12 year old haha
@@blueboi.paints hahaha nose manny shove it manny was my second guess!
My story is the Same! Pier 7 back in 96. Nicest guy
I grew up in the bay and would see Carl everywhere. Then I went to Woodward Pennsylvania and he recognized me at Woodward as a camper. I felt so cool. Took me under his wing the whole week.
*Karl
Karl is so down to earth and one of the nicest dudes out there. I remember back in 98 ,Alex Klein introduced me to Karl and he was working at a pizza joint. Karl hooked us up with pizza and just seeing him in person you can tell his energy is so pure. His skateboarding speaks for itself. Such a great dude!!
I was in a bad mood before I watched this and Karl mellowed me out. ✊solid dude
It's wonderful to witness Karl's optimistic attitude and enthusiasm towards life. I would like to extend my appreciation to Karl and the Nine Club for their consistently impressive episodes.
Fell in love with skating in 1986
Keep up the OG interviews!
As much as i love the 90's World skaters, I'd love to also hear from the New Deal guys? Especially Ron Knigge, that dude is a competitive cake maker now? Thats a story right there!
Karl is the man! Great vibes being around him in person. He has great kids and great person!
Karls light shines bright
These interviews keep getting better. Icon. ❤
Karl Watson is the best. Without his innovations, there would be no skateboarding 🛹
Lol settle down now. Don't start crying. 🍻🙋
Amazing Skateboarder. Skated with him a few times in Spokane. He was beyyyyyond smooth in his style.
with love from Brazil, THANK YOU NINECLUB!
Love you guys! This is awesome ❤
Great to hear Karl's stories. I also worked hard to get a passable switch push but I still look like it's my first day skating. I accept my place in the switch-mongo family.
Seems countless people have had the same sort of interaction with Karl - running into him at Pier 7 or 3rd & Army, and he makes a point of saying what's up, or giving props if he sees you land something you had been working on. I personally experienced that on 2 different trips to SF, and Mike York had the same sort of vibe - says hi to everyone at the spot and is just generally friendly.
I remember Karl had his son with him skating an OG Tony Hawk Powell board with the crazy Lamar snowboard style nose one time at 3rd & Army, and he recognized my friend's brand on the tee I was wearing, was super hyped and told me to say hi for him. Best dude.
Holly Crap???!! Is this is first time on??? Thank you Nine Club!! 0:41
Karl Watson! The best skater and author! I read “My First Skateboard: When Jonas meets Jack” to my kids nearly every night!
“On that day, Jonas was first to the spot…”
Lesh go🔥
LFG 🎉 excited for this one is an understatement
Most anticipated guest! Thankyou big dawgs 👏
Pier 7 was kind of an intimidating place and the 90's was the era where skaters kept to themselves. I showed up by myself and see Karl sitting down on his skateboard amongst friends. We don't know each other all, but first thing he does is give a big smile and a hello. Legend and a great heart.
like if u rolled up and you were doing simple stuff, like 50-50 fs 180 out, would Pros hate on you n make u leave?
or were they cool n let you learn?
like back then u could mess up someone's 411 part or sum'm man😮
Yesss finally
Yo Karl! You signed my board in 94!❤️
Such a great human!
Seems to be such a great human!
Definitely one of my favorites episodes!!! Keep it up NINE CLUB CREW!! Awesome work guys!! Much love from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷!!
Karl is such an amazing person! This episode is too 5 9 clubs of all time 🧡
Karl just seems like the best dude. Some really philosophical moments in this episode about the unforeseeable impact of the seemingly small choices you make. This is an excellent episode!
Met Karl skating Moraga Commons around 2017. Guy is one of the nicest pros I’ve ever met. He literally learned everybody’s name at the park and did not mind chatting it up with anyone who wanted to. Mans great.
🙌 !
What a legendary dude! Karl is the type of guy who makes the world a better place just by being him! Plus he got sick skate styyyyle! Thanks guys!
Pushing switch is still hard for me 😭 switch mongo for life ❤
Karl Watson is a real one. He stays true to his vision and maintaining an ethos of respect and camaraderie with skaters whom he receives inspiration from (and, in turn, he is held in the highest regard by all whom he inspires and has inspired over the decades which have paved the path to his eternal legacy). He will always be one of my favourite skaters of all time!
I’ve only ever heard people say nice things about Karl. The first thing people say after his name is mentioned is what a cool dude he is. Even without all the accomplishments and legacy left in skateboarding, he’ll be remembered by many simply because he’s such a great human. That’s really cool.
He'd roll up to the spot and greet everybody. Acknowledged all and shook their hands. Coolest human being for sure.
Karl is so rad
Thank you watched a lill bit before going for a roll farking pumped to skate now! b back to finish the rest bloody legend... ..
Loosest, chillest style. Such a positive dude. Mad respect Karl

Amazing episode! Need more Karl!
Great episode. 100% good vibes. Cheers!
Hell yeah for having Karl on! Remember talking to someone from Japan who said to me how they wanted to skate like Karl. He's so smooth. So influential. Glad to see where he has gone with or from Skateboarding and coming out with the book which I did get for my son. Also shout out to FTC and Kent and his Dad and Mom.
Another amazing episode. Thanks, Karl, and thanks 9 club. It's not a Monday without you guys.
Karl is the best! So glad the nine club survived!

My first board, was a Think skateboard 💖
Karl always been the man. Always been one of my favorite black skaters from the 90s. I'm black so it always help me watching him in 411 videos.
Yesssss!!!!
I always consider the switch mongo push a switch stance indicator
Finally!! One of the best dudes in skateboarding!!
Best way to start off the week
Karl is the man! Happy dude. My friends and I always have looked up to the man. What a great listen on this one.

Karl's got the-BEST vibes.
Great episode ♥️👏🏻
My buddy bought me both of Karl's books when my son was born. My son is almost two and loves when I read My First Skateboard before bed.
ohhhhhhh yeeeeees
Karl’s trick at hubba hideout is legendary!!
Come back again! Love the energy
Great episode! Love the OG SF stories :) but that Paulo Diaz deck behind Kelly is absolute 🔥
Karl is the best, great vibes and ep!
My homie and I used to skate at Third and Army regularly, we would see Karl there a lot. One day for no reason he calls us over to his Audi TT and gives us each a new set of wheels with the most gracious face, and asks for nothing in return. One of the most humble and nicest dude in skateboarding, a small moment that I still think about over 10 years later.
Karl seems like such a rad guy! Fun episode!
Big love to Karl and thankful he hooks me up in skateboarding. This episode had me cracking up haha best dude❤️💛💚
Karl had a massive influence on my skating. I skated a pair of his I-Path Panther pro model till the soles damn near wore out.Thank you Nine Club.
What a great Human. Thanks for having him on.
Now can you please bring back the funny titles for Kelly? We all miss them
That was a fun listen, thank you
FINALLYYYYY!!!! 😩😩😩
Organika graphics was insane and pretty good quality!!! Bless up karl
any new board setup videos in the making, i loved those !
Always been a fan of Karl, but bro after this interview I'm a huge fan! Such an inspiration even to me as someone older than him
Great episode, all love for Karl, great vibe. Busenitz is my all time favourite pro skater and skate shoe, looking forward to that episode!
Such a great episode, Karl Watson is a all time favorite. I remember him from street dreams scene with all that rasta vibes background 😆
let's go!!!!
Karl caught my eye probably back in 1989 at EMB doing a switch blunt slide on the curb of the 3 stairs. First time seeing this trick. Forever being etched in my brain.
Saw Karl skate at a demo in 95 .. it started raining and he was one of 2 that kept skating ( the other was John drake ) both legends for that in my eyes !
A perfect Saturday morning❤
Great job guys
Me and a homie drove from Oregon to SF when we were 16 to skate EMB in 96. Slept in the car in the park at the south end of the Golden Gate Bridge. Went to Pier 7 and Karl was the first pro we met and we were so starstruck and he was so fuckin cool to us. Seeing that place and those dudes skating in real life was so unreal. One of my fondest memories as a teenage dirtbag in the 90’s.
My first set up was his organika signature (7.5!) . Good times
You can tell Kelly really looks up to Karl. Great episode.
The front foot coming off at hubba is pivotal in style.
The best stories 💯🛹
What a great guy! 🙌
Always one of the best Karl’s style personality awesome. The expedition interlock boards he is so right that was one of the second boards my mom ever bought me which was crazy because she hated me skating but I loved that board.
Classic 9 club episode i didn’t know i needed 🤌🏽
I need to get those books. ❤
The acronym was CMO. It was supposed to be Karl, Henry Sanchez, Drake Jones , Billy Valdez, and Brad Johnson and Nikhel
Karl is such a positive soul
Shoutout to McAteer High School him and Micah were the only dudes that introduced Wu Tang Clan first album in Spanish class. Funny as hell too
