The game begins with Sonic holding a birthday celebration with his friends, before a mysterious entity known as the Time Eater arrives and uses "time holes" to scatter everyone across different points in history. After being knocked out by the Time Eater, Sonic finds himself in White Space. After Sonic rescues his best friend Tails, they discover versions of themselves from the past, referred to as "Classic Sonic" and "Classic Tails", who are depicted with the appearance and proportions used in concept art from the Sega Genesis era of Sonic games. As the two Tails determine that Time Eater's actions are damaging time and space itself, both Classic and "Modern" Sonic race through their history, restoring time to normal and rescuing their friends. Throughout the course of the game, Classic and "Modern" Sonic encounter Dr. Eggman and his classic self, referred to as "Classic Eggman" (Robotnik), and collect the 7 Chaos Emeralds.
As always we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to create a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!

I loved how they made classic sonic a mute, and made him seem exactly like he was portrayed originally, with the added quirk that he's still a bit green at using his abilities.
I love how Tails doesn’t recognize Green Hill Zone because his first appearance was in Sonic 2. Such a nice detail.

Seriously. In my opinion, this is the best Sonic game for me. It introduced me to all the modern characters. And excited me a lot since it was very interesting, especially the final boss. I felt THE P O W E R in Modern & Classic Sonic’s hands. I used to play this on my PS3 all the time, i might get it on my PC since its Way more Cheap than Sonic Mania. One guy said in the comments of a SG Video: “One day i found the game for €1”. im going to check in a short time. If its like that, i will ask my Parents to buy it. Until then. Nostalgia in the face!
