Some Kind of Wonderful brought me here... love it!!!

One or the best soundtracks form the 80s for sure! Great movie too.
I met Nick Marsh backstage after their show when I was 12 at the Universal Amphitheater, they opened up for Gene Loves Jezebel. It was my first concert and they stole the show. I had the Biggest crush on him and couldn't speak when he shook my hand. I was petrified. So sweet to me. I had no idea he died...so sad.
Awesome Show! What a GREAT time…50 yrs old now and still lovin this!
Gene Loves Jezebel is another amazing band!!! Amazing show!! good on ya!
@@arthurmadison3396yep, loved both Flesh for Lulu and GLJ
WOW,that is soo cool and incredible! You went to a show with Flesh For Lulu and Gene Loves Jezebel performing!?What an exceptional first concert experience!I saw Gene Loves Jezebel in the nineties, and met both brothers.
@@moongypsyguerrero1925 precious memories of such innocent times and the phenomenal music as the soundtrack...We are blessed❤️
I loved this song in the 80s, it was part of one of my favorite movies "Some kind of wonderful" and just enjoyed dancing to it. Still love it, because great music is timeless and 80s was the best era in music.
That and Pretty in Pink are 2 of the best movie soundtracks from the 80's
@@DoesYourMommaKnow couldn't agree more. Yes, both amazing!!
....it's possiblet the 80s may of been the best era to be alive over all in history so far... ...not just music..
@@mippim8765 👍👍👍😍😍 agreed.
❤ me too
Best Movie of the 80‘s Some kind of wonderful. Part of my youth.
These dudes are too cool. The rising new wave meets the classic punk rock look. Rest In Peace Nick Marsh and long live Flesh For Lulu!!!
The boys understood show business. Entertaining in every way. Don't need to be huge, just be good!
New wave and punk are not very distinct. New wave is a genre that was born out of post-punk. Bands like Payola$, 999, Magazine combine punk rock with new wave, and they are early 80s.
@@abbynormal9836 lot of truth there. To me it’s punk at the core and all the adjacencies like new wave stack up from there including proto and garage. Love these guys for all the good reasons 🤙🏼
I didn’t know Nick passed. God bless him and LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH!!!!
and you sit back and everything is fine...I open my eyes and its 2023...gotta get back to sleep!
Thank you John Hughes!! He made my life complete.
This song always reminds me of "Some Kind of Wonderful".
An underrated Hughes movie! Still watch it when I can 👍
@@rebel_Pete_Erso love that movie ! Great song too
Wow .. my peeps 🤣🤣

Shocked and very saddened to hear that Nick has passed away!. If you define the 80's by it's music then for me 'I go Crazy' has to be up there for one of the best songs of that era, when I listen to it I'm taken straight back to that great time, and even better the song is part of one of my favorite movies 'Some Kind of Wonderful', without doubt the best cult 80's movie ever!..that film showcased the musical talent that was around at that time and boy was there so much creativity and amazing originality from groups like Flesh for Lulu (and such great band names!)....I wish I could go back in time to when I first discovered them to experience that excitement yet again!.... R.I.P Nick your music will live on forever!!!.
One of the best? The best!

such a bad ass tune, a song that will forever be loved, rip nick.
Totally love this song. I just can't get sick of it.
Yes
Best track in the movie.. & the powerful instrumental song playing in the background when Mary Stuart Masterson is feeling all sad and jamming on her drums.
Saw them live in college around 1990 at UCI Crawford Hall. Opened up for PIL. What a great show, and what a great time to be alive. RIP Nick Marsh!
This movie defines my high school years. The whole soundtrack is amazing!
RIP Nick. Thank you for the great years of music!!! You will never be forgotten.
I would say I had the best era and music during my younger years, and that is the 80's!!! Live on 80's music❤❤❤♬♫♪
Anne Mana: The '80's was the decade where the Mainstream-hating hippies, civil & (anything but) equal right marchers, and, counter-culture became teachers, business owners, municipal/county/State/federal leaders & enforced the political-correctness they gave birth to when they were young and stupid.
So if you ever complain about P.C., it was these über-liberals that have our society/World so fcked-up.
They're bodies are old, but their "young & stupid" mentality refuses to..
The Mainstream they are marching against is the one they created since the '60's.
Liberalism (political correctness) slings right past "disorder " and body-blocks common sense to be a raging, hard-corps, mental illness.
When you complain about P.C., thank a Black and/or woman.
Anne Mana hells ya! They dont even know!
Great band and love this time...
Jealous! i grew up in the shitty 2000's.
@@capie44 : Cool story, bro.
Just saw 'Some Kind of Wonderful' on TV, and all kinds of memories came flooding back of when I took a girl to see that movie in 11th grade(1987). Very cool.
Yesh!
I also saw that movie in the spring of 87. It’s such a bittersweet time capsule of a film.
Rest in peace, Nick. Your music will always have a huge place in my life.
R.I.P. Nick Marsh. An inspiration. Long Live The New Flesh!
Reminds me of my high school days 🇵🇭
From the movie Some Kind of Wonderful. I love this song, was a favourite back then.
Definitely one of the coolest names for a band
That and “the The”
For me it's a tie in between Flesh for Lulu and Everything but the Girl 🤔
love the 80s and never heard this song before. feels like its that decade all over again.
Watch more John Hughes movies for the greatest music selected from his personal collection for all his films
Won’t disappoint ☝🏾
this was my wedding song...still strong married life.
Some kind of Wonderful.
RIP, Will always remember meeting you as a teenager at Ohare airport in Chicago.
RIP man, great song and great artist. my condolences to his family
Very underrated band! Excellent song writing.
This is a song from '87 I love this song!
Some Kind of Wonderful was one of my favourite films of the 80's, i thought this song was brilliant and brought it on twelve inch, can't believe that was almost 30 years ago the song still sounds fresh today, and they are still touring?...blimey!.
This is one of my favorite albums of all time. I was in high school when this came out, I played the shit out of it.
What was another of your fave songs on the album?
@@amyporter1855 Postcards From Paradise
I remember listening to this song when I was cruising around Las Vegas in 1986, love you flesh for lulu
One of the best concerts I ever saw.... front row..
R.I.P. Nick. You're music will live on...
Me and my 1969 convertible vw. Always have this song on first. And dancing with caveman. Our very dear friend. My husband this is his town so i got introduced to all the gang members, all his school friends and party friends, now me and my husband are like one person since 1994. You wont see us apart.
This record and Plastic Fantastic were my constant companions back in the day. Thank you lads for this Soundtrack of life 🤘🏼
I was really crazy about this song that I have it recorded in a C-60 cassette tape back to back this one song and played auto-reverse while driving the highway 🤣🤣😂 I was young, a little bit wild, and carefree! 🤣😂🤣
Nick, you will be forever missed.
still here,
great track from some kind of wonderful
This song and the rest from the film were so great...brilliant film as well...the memories always there from this

Soooooo good. I miss these days. I grew up on KROQ fm in LA who played this song in heavy rotation. Awesome!
+Berlin Saint Clair Same here! It's funny how the only references to local radio station comments always mention KROQ, or for a brief time KNAC.
Berlin Saint Clair
IT WAS THE SHIT MAN!!!
80's surfing skating driving my roadrunner Redondo beach and KROQ
BEST TIME OF MY LIFE!!!
Berlin Saint Clair: WLIR on Long Island was the NYC area (signal problems) equivalent of KROQ. And there was a film docu. made about the station. Most of my almost 200 12” alternate versions of those great songs come from LIR.
KROQ was the only radio station worth listening to back then. Southern California in the 80s was the best time to be in high school.
(Me and the girl in the picture--my wife now--grew up on it)
Liked Flesh for Lulu before i ever seen some kind of wonderful. Postcards from paradise was first song i ever heard from them. Still one of my favorite groups of all time.
So Understanding Jane came to mind and immediately, I Go Crazy pops into my head and I had to come back to the video again. Alternative dance clubs, dressing in black with shiny buckles on black leather boots, way before goth. Yes GLJ was another one of my favorites from those days. 91X in San Diego and KROQ in Los Angeles, two killer radio stations that mark a great period of time and unfortunately that era is gone but not forgotten. 😎
Saw them live in a small club in Southampton, Long Island on a super hot and humid night. This was the mid 80's. I'll never forget being right up to the stage and seeing the band nearly dying from the brutal heat. (Nick: "It's fking HOT!")
I felt great last night while driving home. I love this song!!!
Great movie song. Well sorted mr. Hughes!
i love this song!!!😍😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
One of many great songs from my favourite film of all time.....some kind of wonderful 👍

Truely an ageless song! 💖

Timmy Johnson 2:30 ETS ON VH1HD TODAY!
Timmy Johnson You Timmy Johnson from Vineyard Haven?
Flesh for lulu were on a soundtrack to an early john cusac movie but I can't remember the title of the song or which one of his movie it was for the life of me. Any idea?
Don't think it was Cusack. Eric Stoltz flick "Some Kind of Wonderful", John Hughes produced.
Great, great soundtrack!
Thank you so much for uploading. ♥ Class of 1988, Watts and Keith, and FirstWave/33 brought me...
Class of 1988!!!
I met them outside of First Avenue, (Mpls MN) when they were touring with Public Image Limited. The bass player (who resembled Marco Pironni) asked for a good restaurant to go to. I recommended the Nankin chinese restaurant a block away. Knowing the song but not knowing what they looked like, I was surprised to see the same guys I gave restaurant recommendations to on stage performing this song and many others. Good times back in the '80s...
GuyTVUSA I saw so many freaking great concerts back in the day at First Ave! My mom always did takeout from the Nankin, but I was more of a Chi-Chi's guy.
Love the movie.Brings back alot of memories the 80's was the shit.
LUCKY I had THE biggest crush on the lead singer.. uuuug stil do .lol
Martina Crews the singer passed away a few years ago
great story - micheal hutchence from inxs and the band were trying to mack on my gf waiting on them at a bobs big boy.
"Some Kind of Wonderful" song. AWESOME.
Some Kind of Wonderful, anyone?
Me
Amazing song and one of my BEST John H. movies..7/14/18
Saw them live as an opening act for a big time band back in the 80's. From that night I can't even remember the main act, just this song.
Goldgrinch probably Gene Loves Jezebelle
Maybe PIL
I saw them with Gene Loves Jezebel
@@odestome1 Since I saw Genes Loves Jezebelle, there's a good chance it was that show.
Nice music 80.
It's mad in the head & sick in the soul!!!
still crazy in this song...80's 90's life
I bought their tape on a whim having never heard them before and was just blown away. I figured with a name like that they must be good.
It is somekind of wonderful! It's always on my playlist not to mention that it will be there forever
Nick was An AUTHENTIC SOUL 💙
The boys are just trying to jam and he's mincing about like Mick Jagger. Love this song!
One my best songs alwAys puts me in good mood
You can tell I've been out of the loop, I didn't hear about Nick Marsh until today. Will definitely be making a donation to his personal charity for cancer research. RIP Nick, you and your music will never be forgotten.
Some kind of wonderful. Loved the chick with the gloves.
Ariel Butcher her name in the movie was watts
Underrated 80s jam, up there with "Ink and Paper."
Bought the original way back. Same with Roman Candle 12". Happy times
I'm a little late to the party, but I remember dancing to this and a few other FFL tunes at Medusa's in Chicago. I had to buy a CASSETTE...wore it out!🥰
I saw these guys with PIL . It was awesomeness. It was the plastic fantastic tour . This was U.K. To us in the US . He is sporting the old school record store made batman shirt. You used to be able to buy bootleg punk shirts at record stores and you would get a free crappy record folded inside the shirt instead of boring card board .
Danced like HELL to this downtown Chicago at NEO's back in the day...HELL....I AM DANCING RIGHT NOW!
as someone said earlier, brings back great Jr high memories. thanks for that.
damn i could not forget my new wave days 80's allthough im a punkrocker that time listening fresh for lulu's i go crazy year 1987 i was in highschool wearing 80's trend fashion cool!
Great song from a great movie I fell in Love with Lea Thompson
rest in peace nick rock in heaven
heaven is a myth
I still love the song.
Ahead of its time. RIP
First cassette I would put in my 1969 convertible VW bug, every friday after washing my car, then off to go party. I swear it was every friday, I didn't work on fridays, so I would wash that VW, and leave my moms house at around 12 noon and partied till we dropped. ( cassette) wow.
❤❤ will always play this till I die.
Love this song!!!! Timeless🎶💘
I go crazy for me!!
'Some Kind of Wonderful' was the first time I heard the guys.
same.
Yes “Some Kind Of Wonderful”!
Timeless "new wave"....d best
Saw them open up for Gene Loves Jezebel @ The Beacon Theater NYC back in '88 I believe...anyone else there?
Punks not dead 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
I feel nostalgic when i heard this song. . .Thanks TheArkive.
Still listening in 2021!
Yahoo brought me here. They had an article of Artists that died in 2015. Good song!
+Herbie Verstanks Same here. It sucks when the only way you get to hear some good rock music these days is when someone passes away or something bad happens to them - P.S. Out of Yahoo's list of musicians they lost this year (LOTS and LOTS of jazz dudes passed on this year), this guy was the ONLY one who made me think "Dang! He looks cool - I really should check out more of his stuff."
Oh, Heck yah! Remember aces of high school!!!
Love it!!! Love it!!! Love it!!!
Love that movie !!!
Tremendous song!
Maybe late but I am paying my respects.
still a banger🥰
Bring so many good memories.........................I go crazy too
