      We're working on guides for individual workstations (or crafting processes). Or do you mean a dedicated guide to the Tech Tree, like a general overview of what to find where and what prerequisites buildings have?

    Pups can escape traps if you wait too long. In that case you can set the trap again.

    Thanks for the instructional video, very well done, but I have one question: what is this "free time" you speak of?
    I've only played up to 20 or 28 days (don't remember which) and I have yet to encounter this "free time".
    Maybe once I get a better grasp of the game I will learn where it spawns at, but as of yet I have not. So far it's always go, Go, GO!!
    But again, great videos thanks for them.

    • @Pixelcave
      @Pixelcave  Před měsícem

      Thank you! About that "free time"... it definitely take some time to figure out the basics and learn to juggle all the tasks. Once you feel a bit more confident, you can "risk" straying a bit further from your village to look for dens, a mine, thatch, etc. Of course, it 's typical to have just left town and a Blood Moon happens or something else that requires you attention - so it's always a bit touch and go. Playing solo is also a lot more challenging as you literally have to do everything alone, so having at least 1 co-op mate helps. But don't worry about the Dogs, we got ours very late.. we were way to occupied to prepare for winter and all that ourselves.

      @@Pixelcave I'm still trying to figure how some people (don't remember where I saw it sadly) saying you should have iron tools/weapons by day 15 along with hunting AND fishing huts. I guess it's possible but you would need to have every second of the game planned out to get that many villagers out and have enough food production to prevent them from starving.
      But I will say that after watching a couple of your videos I think I have been doing too much of the building myself from the start instead of focusing on collecting jotunn blood and having the Eye constantly working on bringing in villagers. Seems like letting it sit for just five minutes idle is a HUGE mistake.

    • @Pixelcave
      @Pixelcave  Před měsícem +1

      There's no rule how fast you should or can do what, and it really heavily depends on various factors. Solo or co-op, placement of village and vicinity or resources like the mine and wulfar dens, the coast, etc (you might not even go for a Fishing Hut if you build more inland). Most importantly, the more playthroughs you've done, the more experience you have - that be with which buildings to place in which order, and also where - as this can also affect quite a few things. It's definitely true that you should try to keep your Eye of Odin running when you start up, to get the workforce for all the basics going (just make sure you can keep up with food production).
      In our last playthrough, while we were already mining at Day 15, we only had the Bloomery going and not the full iron tool/weapon production yet. I'd say clothes are more important for winter than iron - clothes make a huge difference for your survival. In the end, play at a pace that makes sense for you. You'll learn more and more with each playthrough, don't be afraid to restart.

    Dogs may not be as powerful than a villager that hits the barracks 24/7, at least their reliable in protecting huge bases. Villager requires expensive structure just so they can stay in place. You can make them roam around, but that will often do more harm since enemy attacks are ONLY announced to the player.
    Wish dogs can also scales based on what they do. Their stats seem random and permanent.

    • @HeraclesPorsche
      @HeraclesPorsche Před 9 dny

      they eat way too much meat, and their squishy as hell. there also annoyingly picky about when they eat. dogs aren't worth it right now. buff dogs.

    can you make them stronger? like their stats? my dog cant even kill 1 wolf on its own ?

    • @Pixelcave
      @Pixelcave  Před 10 dny +1

      Unfortunately no, at least that's not a mechanic in game yet - they might of course rework pets in future. However, dog pets can have different stats once raised, e.g. some have more HP than others, so it's worth looking for that and only take the stronger ones with you on more dangerous trips.

    • @Pixelcave
      @Pixelcave  Před 10 dny

      You fill the feeding trough at the Kennel with food, e.g. raw red meat or cooked meat. They will then eat from it whenever they are hungry. You can also assign a villager to the Kennel who will ensure to fill the trough with food. Alternatively, if you go out hunting and cut up the prey, once there are large meat hunks on the ground, the dogs will break them down into pieces and eat them. You can also throw a hunk or pieces of raw red meat close to them on the ground and they should eat those whenever hungry.

  • @pothoc1
    @pothoc1 Před měsícem

    Instead of assigning to the hunting hut, wouldnt assigning them to the person assist in hunting?

    • @Pixelcave
      @Pixelcave  Před měsícem

      Oh, this was purely an example to show how to assign the Dogs to guard buildings and where to find the option. Same with the Cook, an example for assigning the Dog to a Villager. If you don't use them in a party, Hunters and Gatherers might be good to guard. Generally I'd say it also depends if you have areas in your Village where you typically see attacks, like from Blood Moon (we always had like 2-3 typical areas that got attacked), or the beasts from the Mine, nearby Wulfar Dens, etc. Dogs might be squishy and die (haven't tested the guarding too much yet), but personally, I'd rather lose a dog than a Villager.

    How to feed the dog? :O

    • @Pixelcave
      @Pixelcave  Před měsícem

      You can put food (we used raw red meat) in the feeding trough of the Kennel, or have a villager assigned to the Kennel who takes care of it. Dogs also pick up food from the ground occasionally... so if yours is with you and very hungry, it might eat when you drop food, or hunt and let the dog skin and eat the meat hunks.

      @@Pixelcave i lost 2 of my dogs from Hunger because i didnt get or maybe i didnt saw the notification that they are hungry. They Was defending the kennel and forgot to fed them.. The last one was barking out of his life.. 😭.. and i found it quit useless to assign a villager because they get pretty long to get hungry, the villager was idling for about half of his workhours.

    • @Pixelcave
      @Pixelcave  Před 28 dny

      This happened to us as well - poor dogs starved to death! Luckily, in one of the last updates, they decreased how fast Dogs get hungry, so hopefully that helps. And yes, they bark when they get real hungry, so that's a way to notice it and make sure they get fed in time. Agreed that the Kennel worker feels a bit useless most of the time, would be great if they could have a secondary job as builder or similar at least.
