Lx and Gzuz both spent several times in jail. Both just recently did time for (separate) cases of assault. Gzuz had assaulted a clerk at my local grocery store and had to go behind bars for that. In the Video for "187 Allstars 2017" you can see him step out of jail right into the music video. The Video for "Optimal" was shot when Lx was still in jail. He was only allowed out during the day but had to go back to get locked up for the night. I also believe that was the reason he couldn't attend the echo ceremony. He wasn't allowed "freigang" - an extended leave from prison.
There was a big police raid tonight here in Hamburg and it was related to people and objects connected to 187 Strassenbande. All the flexing with guns and drugs in the last couple of years might catch up with them. It will be interesting to see what happens. But it is not unlikely that some of them will end up in jail again.
Thank-you Yukio again for all the accurate information! Way better than wikipedia lol. I just read about the raid in a comment above. One of the videos I found says Maxwell got arrested? In my opinion if that break in at the end of Druck Druck was real then they need to slow down or it will catch up with them. Although all they did was eat chicken wings it looks like lol still that was aggressively illegal.
I think the raids are more about their drug buisness and the illegal guns they showed in their videos. All of what I am about to write next is just something a weird old japanese gentleman once told me when I was riding the bus... Allegedly parts of the gang are still very much involved in illegal trade from anabolic steroids and weed to guns and everything in between.
They were so bold to show people and places that are directly involved in illegal activity. The federal cops in germany took notes.
They have a long history of doing stuff like this and I guess the authorities have had enough once more. Especially because the 'Was hast du gedacht?' Video generated so much attention.
Around 2011(~?) they used to advertise their goods stamped like merchandise through a darkweb shop on stickers with QR codes. You could buy hash with the 187 logo on it. Subtle. The shop no longer exists. You will still find the stickers in st.pauli and the schanzenviertel.
Being 'outlaws' is part of their image. So this kind of solidifies their claim to being a proper street gang or organised crime group like the 'hell's angels' or 'bandidos'.
This is most likely not going to turn many people off off their music.
Actually, a friend of mine was sitting in the same train as LX for some time during school (when he got back from school LX often was there too) and some guy who sold weed to friends of mine was in a debt by some guys connected to 187 and got chased by some guys.
So I don't think they're like super big in the bussiness, but they definitely are legit when it comes to their drug schemes etc. haha
187 Logo hahahaha wow just wow . Yeah I mean they are doing a very good job at creating this image of being outlaws. I mean stealing chicken wings during a music video that'll do it, and yeah because they mostly seem to not be assaulting people(or thats the impression I get of recent times) I can see people not being super offended. I feel like they already made their mark as outlaws tho, as you said it's solidified. Do you think they will slow down now?

yes maxwell got arrested at gunpoint but they just found small amounts of drugs in his apartment so he was released already again. overall they raided 16 houses and objects connected to them, results are not clear yet but normally you dont hide bigger amounts of drugs or guns in your apartment so i dont think they found to much xD

Yup, that is honestly very deep to me. You can show off money and cars and stuff but food and being able to eat is precious so I feel something when I see them do that.

Your react vids are really good. I enjoy watching them. What about french rap? French rap is big in europe. For example Niska. His song "reseaux" got over 215 mio klicks! But he did better songs like "psg freestyle" and "je suis dans l'truc". If you like luciano's voice and style you'll like him too.
